With recent paint, a strong-running small block, and a very reasonable price, this F-body delivers a whole lot of bang for the buck. Repainted within the last year, the frosty silver finish gives this Z/28 a sophisticated, upscale look that's all out of proportion to its price tag. They skipped the usual decals, making it clean and sleek rather than dated-looking, and that's a big plus when you're talking about one of these cars. The urethane nose is in excellent shape, there's a billet insert in the lower grille opening for a cleaner look, and that hood is still one of the best designs of the era. Out back, you get a three-piece rear spoiler on the trunk that's as much a part of the Camaro look as the Bowtie emblem. The work is quite good, not show quality but certainly in line with what you would have received from the factory, and we have to admit that after looking at so many of these in plain, boring '70s colors, the silver looks pretty darned good to our eyes. It doesn't look like it's ever been a rusty car. A few bumps and bruises on the chin spoiler are the major demerits, but that's probably unavoidable and it's really quite minor. The black and gray interior is a combination of new and original components and all together, it has a very sleek, up-to-date look. The seats are in excellent shape and are as supportive as they look, perfect for the Z/28's performance. The carpets are in good order, protected by some heavy-duty floor mats and the door panels are probably original pieces that still look decent. The gray dash, steering wheel, and center console add some contrast that really brightens up the interior and the gauges are in good order. The steering wheel is one of the cooler designs to come out of GM in the 1970s, a kind of homage to the string-wrapped steering wheels racers used in the teens and '20s, and the shifter is only a few inches away. A later Pioneer AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo head unit is in the dash and this car carries options like power windows and locks, so it's easy to use in the daily grind. The trunk is also pretty original, with factory mats and a spare tire with matching cover. The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8 with 4-bolt mains that's been rebuilt to deliver more power than you'd generally get in 1979. An Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor surely help, and it sure idles like there's an upgraded camshaft inside. The engine bay is tidy, with the chrome air cleaner being the only component that really stands out as non-OEM, and the reliable hardware is hard to beat. Stock-style cast iron exhaust manifolds feed a true dual exhaust system that sounds great and the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission has quick reflexes for around town cruising. It's tidy and clean, if not detailed for show underneath, and with highway-friendly gears in the 10-bolt rear end, this is an easy car to like regardless of what you're doing with it. 5-spoke alloy wheels from a later Z have been fitted and they carry 235/60/15 white-letter radials that look brand new. A clean, sleek take on an old favorite, this Camaro delivers fresh paint and a strong-running motor for a very small investment. Just go out and have fun with it and call today! 1979 Chevrolet Camaro for Sale 1979 Chevrolet Camaro for Sale Stock # 2878-ATL Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. One owner has taken care of it from new, and that kind of love translates into a high-quality car with a lot of recent upgrades, including a fresh crate motor. Remarkably affordable, this is a great way to own a well-maintained Camaro without spending your kids' college fund. This car was special ordered in 1979 and as a result, it looks very clean and subtle without the usual graphics, decals, and other add-ons that plagued cars of the era. It was repainted in the 1990s, duplicating the original dark blue paint and the combination of good base stock and careful workmanship has resulted in a car that looks great today. Sure, it's got a few signs of use, because this car has been properly exercised throughout its life, but at this price you're not expecting perfection anyway. There's an aftermarket sunroof, but otherwise it wears all its factory equipment, including the ducktail spoiler out back, and it's all in excellent shape. This car has always lived indoors, and there's evidence of that in the bright trim, which still looks great, and there's no evidence of accident damage or rust in this car's past. The interior is completely original, which tells you a lot about how well-loved this car was. The cloth inserts on the high-back bucket seats give it a slightly upscale look and it's in remarkably good shape all things considered. The carpets might be showing their age, but if it bugs you replacements are cheap and easy and would remedy the only notable demerit in this very clean interior. A center console, remarkably, wasn't standard on the Camaro but it's nice to see one here and the gauges are in very good condition too. And yes, that special order means that a 4-speed was original equipment, and it's now topped with a Hurst cue ball shifter. An AM/FM radio provides entertainment and aside from some light fading on the seat back, the rear seat area is excellent. The trunk is tidy and as with many one-owner cars, it carries what very well might be the original spare tire. After 35 years, the original 350 cubic inch V8 was getting tired, so a GM dealership was tapped to install a brand new 350 crate motor and dress it up like a stocker. There's proper corporate blue paint on the engine itself, and the original air cleaner housing was retained, albeit slightly modified to support a little more horsepower. The work was done in 2004, but that was only about 1500 miles ago, so everything is still quite fresh and in excellent condition. Turn the key and it lights off easily and runs superbly with crisp shifts from the 4-speed behind it. It now uses a dual exhaust system that ditches the restrictive stock setup, so it sounds appropriately powerful and the suspension was rebuilt when the engine was installed, so it handles well. Color-matched wheels with trim rings and 235/60/14 white-letter radials round out the look, making a car that looks very authentic indeed. You've undoubtedly noticed that prices are inching up on second-gen Camaros and we think this one represents one heck of a deal, especially with all the upgrades. With a Corvette-derived L98 V8, a cool color combination, almost every available option, and just 9166 original miles (not a typo), this is the one to put away for posterity. Yeah, it's a lot of money for a 1990 Camaro, but go ahead and try to find a nicer one. If you have a collection with a convertible IROC-shaped hole in it, this car deserves to be there. The paint is almost entirely original except for the trunk lid, which blends in so well you'd never know unless we told you, and there are some very, very minor signs of use on the high-traffic areas like the chin spoiler. Otherwise, this one is showroom fresh and beautifully maintained. Black is always a challenge to maintain, but it remains glossy and bright with minimal micro-scratches that cars get if they haven't been carefully stored and dusted. The IROC's look is undeniably aggressive, but in black, it's also sophisticated, especially with that single blue stripe running around its perimeter, which is really the only flashy part of the whole car. Details like the door handles, the emblems, the IROC-Z decals on the doors, and even the taillights are in virtually as-new condition. Gray leather buckets are a lot more luxurious looking than you'd expect in an F-body, but don't forget, this was the top-of-the-line model with an original sticker about where it's priced today. There are few minor signs of use on the driver's seat, which is probably inevitable after 25 years, but it is entirely original and untouched, which is the important thing. You'll also be happy to note that this one is equipped with just about every option you could get in 1990: A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and even a tilt steering column with an airbag steering wheel. All L98 cars were automatics because there were no 5-speed that could handle the 350's torque, but you'll never miss the clutch because this one has such quick wits. An AM/FM/cassette stereo will take you back to high school when this was the car everyone longed to have. There's a nice-fitting black canvas convertible top that remains in excellent original condition and it stows under a flush-fitting hard deck. The trunk is deep enough for a few pieces of luggage, too! The 350 cubic inch L98 engine was directly descended from the Corvette. Rated at 230 horsepower and a stout 330 pounds of torque, it was the answer to that pesky 5.0 Mustang from across town. The familiar Tuned Port Injection intake manifold is easy to recognize and the engine bay is almost entirely original save for some basic maintenance parts. No modifications, no bolt-ons, not even a K&N air filter, it's ideal for the collector who prizes authenticity. An afternoon of detailing will really make it sparkle and if you want a car that'll wow them in preservation classes, this is it. The 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive means the big V8 just loafs along at highway speeds and it's got a very aggressive exhaust note that lets everyone know it's serious. The undercarriage is also completely untouched; heck, it's still sitting on its original 245/50/16 Goodyear Gatorback tires and unmarked 5-spoke alloy wheels. Original cars are all the rage these days and when they're this good, well, it's easy to understand why. An incredible survivor in every sense of the word. With a great color combination, a 4-speed manual gearbox, and a bunch of desirable options, this is an entry-level collectable with all the hard work already done. While most Camaros of this vintage were garish '70s colors, the relatively subtle code 69 Dark Camel is just right for a '70s muscle car. They took it easy on the stripes, too, framing the cool hood scoop and wheel wells, but it's surprisingly tame for the period. The important thing is that someone spent a lot of time and money refinishing the bodywork to its current high level, with modern paint giving it a brilliant shine and only a few signs of use since it was completed. Those long doors fit quite well and don't need a heavy slam to close, and the nose and tail pieces fit flush with the bodywork and are actually the same color as the rest of the car, which was definitely not the case in 1978. Correct Z28 emblems in the grille, on the front fenders, and between the taillights are correct color-matched pieces, and while you're admiring the rear end, check out how well that spoiler fits. This was not some quickie spray and pray job; someone built this car out of love. The interior is not only quite nicely preserved, but it's also a handsome light-colored complement to the exterior paint. The high-back buckets look fantastic, even decades later, and are matched by the quality of the door panels and carpets. The steering wheel was obviously designed to look like a vintage string-wrapped competition piece and has aged quite well without the usual UV damage, probably thanks to a large cover protecting it. All the gauges are bright and crisp, and yes, that's a factory close-ratio 4-speed, a somewhat rare option in 1978 and one that adds a lot of fun to the car's resume. The original AM/FM stereo remains in the dash, and it also carries goodies like power windows and a center console. Custom Z/28 logo floor mats help protect what might be original carpets, and the back seat looks almost new. The trunk is extremely clean, too, with a correct black fabric and matching spare tire assembly with jack. The Z28 carried the top engine, a 350 rated at 185 horsepower and a stout 270 pounds of torque, but this one, with a recent rebuild and a few performance tweaks, runs even better than those numbers would suggest. The engine bay is exceedingly clean, with the engine wearing correct corporate turquoise paint and dressed up with items like a chrome air cleaner and valve covers. Performance upgrades include the Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel carburetor, as well as a throaty dual exhaust system that's better than anything the Feds permitted in 1978. The 4-speed powers through the gears, and the 10-bolt out back packs 3.42 gears on a Posi, which are a nice balance between acceleration and easy highway cruising. The floors are incredibly clean and even though it's not detailed for show, it's easy to see that this car lived someplace warm for most of its life. Factory alloy wheels are in excellent shape and wear 235/60/15 white-letter radials. If you like the look, this Camaro will likely turn out to also be a smart investment in the not-too-distant future. When it's a 1969 Camaro and you dress it up like an all-conquering Yenko, then you've really got something special. Built with a professional eye and attention to detail, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro gives a nod to one of the most potent muscle cars of all time. We don't have room to go into the Don Yenko story; suffice to say his creations are some of the most treasured of all '60s performance machines. Without about a half-million dollars to spare, you've probably decided that you'll never have one. Well, here's your chance to pick up a beautifully finished Camaro that will still run with some seriously fast hardware. You won't sneak around, thanks to the bright orange paint job and white Yenko graphics, but you can rest assured that every eye will be on you as you roll into the local cruise night parking lot. The paint shows crisp reflections and looks like it's just out of the spray booth. With a cowl induction hood and a ducktail spoiler, it looks the part, far more importantly, it can back it up. That bright white vinyl interior complements the exterior quite well, and everything is so new that you're going to think twice about climbing in without first brushing yourself off because it's ultra clean. Fresh seat covers and replacement door panels replicate the factory stuff to complete the look. Clean black carpets and a straight dash create a great contrast in the cabin, with wood appliqu highlighting the center console. Hurst supplied the shifter for the 4-speed, complete with white shifter knob (AKA cue ball), and there is an AM/FM/cassette player in the dash. Although clearly built for speed, this F-body isn't without some creature comforts. Power front-disc brakes help this monster stop on a dime, power steering make maneuverability a cinch, and if the power windows don't get a breeze to you fast enough, the all-new Vintage Air R-134a system surely will when it's blowing cold out of the dash. The real reason you want this Camaro is what's under the hood: a giant, tire-shredding 454 cubic inch V8 that looks absolutely incredible sitting in the black engine bay. It wears Chevy Orange, chrome, and finned valve covers like few other power plants can. A Demon carburetor sends air and fuel through a polished intake manifold, and the spent gasses are sent through after-market headers and a dual exhaust system for a down right aggressive sound. A solid 4-speed manual transmission is mated to that big block and it sends power to a 10 bolt rear end. Power steering and power brakes handle turning and stopping duties, while Torque Thrust wheels complete the Yenko look and are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber measuring 215/65/15 up front and 235/60/15 out back. Someone has already invested heavily in this car's build, it would be impossible to duplicate, this caliber of craftsmanship, for the asking price. Finding a Camaro this nice for the asking price is a hard feat in itself, finding one with killer Yenko looks is even harder. Not quite a resto-mod, it retains its original "Camaro-ness" but polishes it in such a way that this is a lot more than a garden-variety F-body. The familiar Camaro shape has been completely restored, and clearly the work was done on a rotisserie, because it's as clean underneath as it is up top. A steel cowl induction hood was installed during the reconstruction of the car, and it only emphasizes the ultra-clean lines of the early Camaro. A blacked-out SS grille smooths the front of the car for a custom look and it works rather well with the Z/28-style chin spoiler. Out back, a ducktail spoiler adds traditional Camaro styling and while there's a body-colored gas cap, which works well with the rest of the car that has been almost entirely de-badged save for basic Camaro on the front fenders. The metallic blue paint is a totally custom mix that complements the ultra-smooth look, with an unbelievable finish that looks like it could slip through the air without even creating a breeze. Like I said, you could spend hours examining this and still be delighted by the tricks you find. That's especially true inside, where the buckskin tan bucket seat interior successfully blends stock and modified components to create something both tasteful and unique. Original low-back buckets look right at home in the early cockpit, and the rear bench has been upholstered with a matching seat cover for a very OEM look. Reproduction door panels were used, and we're so used to seeing cars with SS gear stuffed inside that the base model stuff looks pretty trick. The dash also gives away the fact that this is a factory A/C car as well, which has been upgraded with a modern Vintage Air setup using the original controls. A complete set of Auto Meter white-faced gauges now live in a custom gauge panel, surrounded by a stock wheel with a leather wrapper that looks and feels great. A custom center console houses the Hurst cue ball shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission and for entertainment, there's an AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds as good as the interior looks. The trunk is neatly outfitted with a massive subwoofer and a custom-fitted blue trunk mat that really dresses it up. The engine is a snarky 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate motor, heavily massaged to generate serious horsepower. There's a high-rise intake with a Holley carb up top and a set of long-tube headers feeding a new dual exhaust system. Beautiful chrome valve covers compliment the twin-snorkel stock air cleaner that blends styles for an all-new look. A lot of extra attention went into making the plumbing and electrical wiring look neat, and as a result the engine bay looks quite tidy around the handsome V8. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool and just about everything you can see has been freshened so it's ready to rock. Underneath, the front suspension upgraded with rack-and-pinion steering, while out back, you'll find a 12-bolt full of 3.31 gears which will snap your neck but with that Tremec 5-speed, it still loafs along on the highway as well. For most of us, the ideal early Camaro isn't much different from this cool black 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe: big block, manual transmission, gorgeous interior, all wrapped in a very stock-looking shell. The result is a sinister-looking car that runs even better than it looks. First generation F-bodies have different personalities depending on the color, but there's no mistaking a car dressed in brutal black. Hunkered down over polished Torque Thrusts, this car sits right, and the rake only emphasizes the aggressive hood with its built-in velocity stacks and traditional ducktail spoiler out back. Panel gaps are good all around, and while it's got some signs of use, there's no denying that the look totally works here. It's not perfect, but it looks aggressive enough to get respect on the street and against that black paint, details like the gill trim and wheel well moldings really stand out. The headlight doors work correctly and give the car an instantly identifiable face combined with the SS grille. Proper 396 badges are on the flanks, and they're definitely no joke. Deluxe bucket seats with houndstooth cloth inserts are a welcome change inside, where it looks quite stock. Everything is in good shape, from the seat covers to the carpets to the headliner, and the workmanship matches what the factory was doing. Like the exterior, it was done some time ago, so it's not as crisp as it once was, but if you like the idea of a Camaro being as comfortable as your favorite pair of jeans, this one works rather well. The Hurst cue ball controls a heavy-duty Muncie 4-speed, and there's no greater joy than running a big block through the gears. The original woodgrained steering wheel and wood appliques have been refinished, keeping with the stock vibe inside, and the trunk has been finished in correct spatter paint and topped with a reproduction mat. Ultimately, though, this car is all about power, and under the hood there's a built 396 cubic inch big block that now cranks out a big dose horsepower (350 if the decal on the air cleaner is to be believed). An Edelbrock intake manifold, giant Holley 4-barrel carburetor to keep it fed, and an MSD ignition system to light the fires all add up to an engine that makes this Camaro a legitimate threat on the street. Chrome valve covers give it a racy look under the hood, and the workmanship is tidy and functional, but clearly built to perform. Underneath, there are a ton of upgrades including power steering and brakes, a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system, and a 12-bolt rear end that doesn't mind the big block torque churning through it. It's been lowered a bit to give it that awesome rake, crouching over staggered Dunlop radials on polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. This Camaro has the right look, big horsepower, and our favorite interior, so if you want one of the most potent-looking F-bodies we've featured recently, this is it. The old adage about black cars is completely true: nothing looks better, but it had better be right. Fortunately, this is not only a low-mile, straight, clean car, but the guys who did the finish work knew what they were doing. As a result, that black paint is deep and is so rich and dark that it makes most other black cars look dusty. The early Camaro curves seem to be especially noticeable on this car, and the dramatic curve along the tops of the fenders is shown to great effect. A bright red nose stripe is a great way to tie it together, and while it doesn't quite leap out at you like a white stripe would, a lot of folks will prefer the contrast of this car's look. You'll also note there's a chin spoiler up front and with a ducktail spoiler on the trunk lid, it has a zoomy Camaro look. The trim and bright pieces are in great shape, too, and it's always nice to see a Camaro being honest about what it is, so the original grille and taillights remain intact. Bright red Strato buckets featuring fresh seat covers with correct pleats and black stripes anchor the interior. Of course, new seats were just the beginning, because there are also beautiful door panels, correct black carpets that haven't been degraded by UV rays, and a nicely preserved dash pad, all lending to the car's restored look. The factory gauges are in remarkably good shape and there's a set of auxiliary dial sunder the dash, right about where the factory might have put them. For entertainment, you get an AM/FM head unit in the dash using original-style knobs so it looks right and works vastly better than the original AM unit. With a thick wooden rim, the steering wheel feels great in your hands and works well with the slightly modified shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. The black convertible top looks brand new and offers a crystal clear rear window, as well as a matching red boot when it's down. The trunk is solid and clean and has a reproduction plaid mat. No worries under the hood, either, where you'll find a strong-running 350 cubic inch V8, now dressed for show. The original 2-barrel carburetor and intake have been replaced by a 4-barrel setup giving this small block V8 some impressive muscle. The engine bay is nicely detailed, and with just enough shiny stuff to make it sparkle, including the Chevrolet-logo valve covers, matching air cleaner, and even a chrome water pump pulley. It's backed by the aforementioned TH350 and a 10-bolt rear, which hangs on a pair of composite monoleaf springs that ride and handle quite well. A new dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers sounds awesome and the brakes were recently serviced front-to-back. Combined with those brand new chrome Torque Thrust wheels and fat BFG rubber, the car has an awesome stance that works perfectly on this slick ragtop. Clean Camaro convertibles aren't getting cheaper, and with a ton of restoration receipts and photos, this is a car you can buy with confidence. But if you want a 2002 Camaro Z/28 convertible that's about as close to new as you can get, well, this might be it. With just 9001 actual miles, it's an unusual and unusually handsome tribute to the end of third-generation Camaro production. OK, so it took a few years for the Camaro to make a comeback, but that doesn't diminish the appeal of this gorgeous sliver ragtop. Bereft of stripes, spoilers, and scoops, the Camaro's ultra-clean shape speaks for itself and looks fantastic, especially rendered in bright silver paint. The redesigned nose works rather well with the smooth hood and details like the faired-in side mirrors and neatly integrated rear spoiler work especially well here. As you'd expect with so few miles, the car is virtually unmarked and someone obviously bought it with the idea of putting it away for posterity. That means no rain, no commutes, no racing, and the bodywork shows evidence of proper care since it was purchased 13 years ago. Z/28 emblems on the front fenders remind everyone that this is no pushover six-cylinder car, and with twin exhaust pipes peeking out from under the rear bumper, everyone knows this car means business. None of the high-risk areas have been retouched, meaning that the clean chin and rocker panels are that way because of care, not restoration. The black leather interior works perfectly with the silver bodywork and it, too, is pretty much as-new in every way. There might be some very minor stretching on the driver's seat leather, but otherwise it's clean and well-preserved. The Z/28 came loaded with just about everything Chevy could throw into an F-body, including A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and a great-sounding AM/FM/CD stereo system that fills the convertible with sound. Gauges are big, bright, and clear, and, of course, fully functional, and don't let the automatic shifter fool you; this is indeed a serious performance car. A black canvas roof fits well and seals up nicely thanks to a heated glass rear window and the trunk, while not huge, is deep enough to handle a few overnight bags. Oh, and there's also a CD changer back there, perfect for road trips. The 2002 Camaro came packing Corvette firepower in the form of a 5.7 liter LS1 V8. The all-aluminum small block was the most potent American engine in 2002 and testing proved that it lost nothing to its fiberglass sibling in the horsepower department. Of course, this one is completely unmodified and nicely preserved, with correct decals, markings, and equipment under the hood. The battery has been replaced, but otherwise it is all OEM and with this much performance available, you probably won't miss the aftermarket upgrades. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is no handicap, either, making this a fantastic car for cutting through traffic and a superlative high-speed cruiser for long trips. The Z's suspension is capable but not too harsh and with 4-wheel disc brakes, stopping power is impressive. Those chrome wheels were an extra-cost option and wear 245/50/16 Goodyear radials which are likely the car's original shoes. Documented with the original window sticker and manuals, this is the third-gen Camaro to put away in your permanent collection. With a big 454 cubic inch engine, incredible bodywork, and that timeless look, this is the Z/28 for guys who love to drive. The government hadn't yet gotten around to emasculating the muscle cars in 1970, and there wasn't a better-handling American car on the market than the Z/28 Camaro. Finished in brilliant pearl Daytona Yellow with pearl black stripes (continued into the dash) and cool Z28 graphics, it's definitely in-your-face, but it backs up the look with all the right hardware. Workmanship is very good and you can see how straight this one is just from the photos where the reflections in the surface suggest someone sanded that bodywork until their fingers bled. You can get a better idea of how carefully assembled this one is by checking the alignment of the deck lid spoiler, which fits better than even the factory could manage. The aggressive look is certainly helped by the chin spoiler up front as well as the blacked-out grille that had been a part of Chevy's performance look for years. Chrome is excellent, and those emblems on the flanks aren't decals but rather carefully airbrushed replicas that give this car an extremely polished look. The all-new Camaro interior was a slam-dunk in 1970, and this car's modifications put it over the top. The original buckets remain, now fitted with new seat covers in the original materials and patterns; after all, it's hard to do it better than the factory. The wrap-around instrument panel still carries the factory speedo and tach, but a set of aftermarket gauges have been very professionally installed the outer holes. You'll note that the top of the dash has been painted to match the bodywork, right down to the stripes, so it have a very complete look. Steering is via a factory-style 3-spoke wheel and that horseshoe shifter looks right at home in the console. The factory AM/FM radio is still in place and still fully functional, but I'm guessing that you won't need it very often once you get a taste of the horsepower waiting under the hood. You'll also be pleased to find a full-sized spare and jack assembly in the trunk, which also comes with a reproduction mat. Take a look under the hood and you can easily see where big money was spent. That's a built 454 cubic inch V8 that fits so well you'd think the factory put it there. Upgrades include an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor, long-tube headers for a nice, fat torque curve, and a bit of a cam inside to give it the thump-thump-thump sound of a proper big block. A chrome air cleaner, polished aluminum valve covers, and a chrome radiator shroud brighten up the black engine bay, but there's no question this sucker was built for combat. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end, and you'll undoubtedly discover that there aren't many cars on the road today that can keep up with this F-body. The recent dual exhaust system sounds downright predatory and it rolls on a set of Foose wheels with charcoal centers that almost look like the original SS wheels and now wearing 235/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Second-generation Camaros have crossed over from runners-up to legitimate collectables, and this bright yellow Z/28 packs a few surprises, too. With a pro-street vibe, it offers outrageous paint, a stout small block V8, and enough tire to make this street-legal hammer a legitimate threat on the street. When you're building a Pro Street machine, subtlety is the last thing on your mind, and with that thought at the forefront of their minds, the guys who built this one gave it a gorgeous coat of Hugger Orange. Underneath that paint, however, there's ultra-straight sheetmetal that stretches taut over the Camaro's mechanicals, giving it a crouching look. There's also a 2-inch cowl induction hood and plenty of authentic Z/28 badges, too, so it has the right look, especially with those white stripes running down its back. Is it a real Z/28? Who cares! It looks right, sits right, and with a blacked-out grille and ducktail spoiler, it certainly looks the part. The work was done a few years ago, but it still looks fantastic, a testament to the guys who did the work. If it's attention you crave, your car has arrived. You may have noticed the roll bar in back, but for the most part, the interior is a fairly user-friendly place that gets the "street" part of pro-street exactly right. You'll note factory bucket seats, stock door panels, a stock dash, and even a factory steering column. Gauges are a combination of original dials with a column-mounted tach, factory auxiliary dials in the console, and a trio of aftermarket dials over on the passenger's side. The horseshoe shifter is still surrounded by woodgraining and yes, there's even an AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds decent when you're not running hard. The trunk is full fuel cell, which replaces the original tank and makes for improved safety on the track. Yes, the rest is a little scruffy, but there's no major rot and a custom mat would pay big dividends in terms of eyeball appeal. The biggest part of Pro Street is the hardware, and this car doesn't disappoint. The block is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that's fully dressed for show as well as go. Starting with a bunch of chrome, including valve covers and air cleaner, it's joined by a polished stainless firewall that gives it the perfect backdrop, as well as chrome details and some red anodized fittings to match. There's a big Holley 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock Victor Jr intake manifold, so throttle response is snappy and an Accel coil lights it up. Long-tube headers and a custom dual exhaust with turn-downs ahead of the axle add to the pro-street vibe, as does the modified rear suspension with leaf springs, coil-overs, and trailing arms that work in conjunction with the original leaf springs. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission doesn't flinch at the combination of horsepower and traction and the suspension actually rides quite well on those big tires. Weld wheels are really the only choice for a machine like this, and they wear skinny 6.0-15s up front and N50-15 street slicks out back. Fast, loud, and ready to rock, you show up with this car and you're definitely The Man. In fact, this might be the most affordable LS1 powered convertible you'll ever find, a car that still makes big performance seem effortless. This is actually a rather rare car, a 2002 V8 Camaro that isn't an SS. The standard Z/28's clean looks are smooth and chiseled, and it arguably wears the facelifted headlights and grille a lot more successfully than its more extroverted siblings. It's still easily identifiable as a Camaro, of course, but it keeps a lower profile, and in black, has a very grown-up look that's less boy racer than you'd expect. The black paint is original, and with just 48,859 original miles, it's in decent shape considering that it's also 13 years old. Perfect? No. But the car has the look of a machine that has led an easy life and few Camaro convertibles have been subjected to the daily grind, including this one. For a convertible, this one is rock solid, so the doors close with reassuring solidity and it shows off rather nice build quality with tight gaps and good attention to detail. Out back, you get distinctive tri-color taillights as well as the neatly integrated rear spoiler and a modest ground-effects kit that makes the Z look long and low. The black leather interior has a great look for being 13 years old and despite the open-air motoring it has experienced over its lifetime, it's in very good condition. The seats have some slight comfort marks, which only makes the leather that much more inviting and there's no denying that it was built for speed as well as comfort. There's some light fading on the carpets, which is pretty typical on convertibles, but things like the back seat, door panels, and dash pad are excellent with almost no wear at all. Big, bold gauges were part of the Z/28 package and this car comes loaded with just about every option, including power seats, windows, locks, and mirrors, plus A/C, cruise control, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system. It's also got a quick-shifting 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that makes this a great point-and-shoot machine in traffic and allows you to focus on the road. The black canvas convertible top is in excellent condition and stows under a neat boot that gives it a clean look. And for a convertible, the trunk is deep enough for all your gear and remains in good shape. Chevy's all-aluminum LS1 needs no introduction, and its installation in the Camaro created one of the best performers of the early 21st century. GM downplayed the horsepower, but testing at the time pretty much confirms that this is a Corvette-spec motor. Modifications are common but this one remains entirely stock, which assures you that it hasn't been abused or treated to questionable upgrades. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and still yanks the clean ragtop up to speed with effortless ease. It's been well-maintained and the LS1 has proven itself to be virtually indestructible, so it's got plenty of life left in it. Someone has kept up with the detailing under the hood, so it's quite clean and the chassis is equally clean. It's still running its stock exhaust system, complete with catalytic converter, so it's emissions legal just about everywhere and the unique 16-inch Z/28 wheels and 245/50/16 Kumho tires are ready to go. If you're looking for affordable top-down fun with a V8 engine, you just found the all-time champion. Clean, fast, and nicely maintained, this Camaro more than lives up to the hype. With a zippy 327, a clean, sleek color combination, and an interesting mix of options, it's a blast to drive and represents a lot of fun in a first-year F-body. You don't often see code D Nantucket Blue Camaros these days since most of them ended up red or Hugger Orange when repaint time came. Fortunately, this one sticks to the original cowl tag's formula and serves up a unique and attractive alternative. A 2-inch cowl induction hood adds an aggressive look, as does the rear spoiler, but it's still Camaro DNA and looks awesome. A black SS stripe around the nose gives it an edge, too, although it's a decal, not painted on, which makes changing the look easy. As a finishing touch, a blacked-out SS grille was installed, although we have no way of knowing whether this is a real SS. The chrome bumpers look great, too, and many Camaro fans appreciate the early F-body's simpler look and distinct lack of add-on trim, and this is a great example of why. It just looks right. This Camaro also offers a very nicely restored and fairly stock interior with few upgrades. The seat covers, carpets, and door panels are reproduction items that fit well and look great. There's also a center console which makes cruising a lot more comfortable, and it fits just fine behind the shifter for the PowerGlide 2-speed automatic transmission underneath. Original gauges don't offer much more than speed and fuel level, so a set of Auto Gauge gauges has been neatly integrated into the original dash. This car also sports a fully functional modern A/C system, as well as a rather rare AM/8-track stereo head unit in the original slot. The slender 3-spoke steering wheel looks suitably OEM and this Camaro is one of those cars that feels familiar from the moment you climb behind the wheel. The trunk is also correctly outfitted with a new mat and a full-sized spare, just in case. The engine is a 327 cubic inch small block which makes all the right sounds. It burbles at idle and has the most wonderful full-bore tenor you've heard, which is undoubtedly due to a slightly upgraded camshaft inside. An Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor make a few extra horsepower and all the wiring is by Painless. It's nicely dressed in basic black with enough chrome to make it worth your while to open the hood at shows and the detailing is exceptional. Upgrades like the A/C system and alternator are chrome to add some sparkle, and the car sports such niceties as power steering, so driving is a pleasure. Long-tube headers dump into a recent dual exhaust system, so this car really has a nice snarl to it, and the floors, like the trunk, are in good order with a coat of satin black paint. And nothing looks better on a vintage F-body than factory SS wheels, with this car wearing 215/75/14 blackwall radials. Early Camaros are always a great choice, and this one offers more than most. It's got a fantastic subtle look, but you can see that a lot of money was also spent under the skin, making it a fantastic driver you'll look forward to driving. Clearly someone wanted to build the ultimate '69 Camaro, and pulled out all the stops to create this stunning resto-mod SS. With a thundering big block under the hood, high-impact bodywork, and a gorgeous houndstooth interior, this is the Camaro we all wish we owned. Seriously, if you could have a vintage Camaro built any way you wanted, isn't this pretty much what you'd wish for? The bodywork is in good shape and there's no mistaking that fantastic 1969 Camaro profile. The searing red paint isn't this car's original color (that would be code 71 Lemans Blue), but who can argue with the results? A cowl-induction hood, ducktail spoiler, and black Z/28 stripes make it look predatory, and you'll note that the front fenders wear '454' emblems that weren't installed by accident. There were no liberties taken with the Camaro's classic shape, and it offers a few optional upgrades like the gill inserts and polished wheel well moldings, both of which do a lot to really dress things up. It's not a perfect car, but when it's hammering down the highway everyone will want to be the guy behind the wheel, and from that vantage point, this car is nothing but exciting. From behind the wheel, there's no way to tell that this isn't a beautifully restored, stock Camaro. The houndstooth interior always looks elegant and sporty, and the workmanship is excellent throughout. A center console features a horseshoe shifter for the sturdy TH400 3-speed automatic transmission underneath and auxiliary gauges hang in the usual location. That sporty Grant GT steering wheel is a clever update of the original with a slightly fatter rim that's also smaller in diameter, and there's a big Sunpro tach strapped to the steering column where it can do the most good. The stereo system is a simple AM/FM/cassette head unit, but like many of the muscle cars we feature, the best music comes from under the hood and this car definitely fits the bill. It also offers a clean, well-finished trunk with spatter paint for a very authentic look. Spectacular is one word for the mammoth 454 cubic inch big block under the hood. The build takes no prisoners, and the built big block is fitted with a bunch of go-fast parts and absolutely nothing to slow it down. It's also remarkably docile and easy to manage in real-world traffic thanks to an Edelbrock intake and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. An MSD ignition system lights it all up and a set of Hooker long-tube headers use a set of Flowmaster mufflers to handle the exhaust. Beautifully dressed in aluminum valve covers and an open-element air cleaner, it neatly straddles the line between street and race and excels at both. Traction bars on the monoleaf springs out back do their best to plant the power coming from a beefy 12-bolt rear end with chrome cover. Polished Torque Thrust style wheels are a classic look, but this one wears modern-sized 235/45/17 front and 255/45/18 rear performance radials for a more hardcore look. One, it's super clean, with just 28,741 original miles. Two, it's got a supercharged LS1 and a 6-speed, so it's insanely fast. And three, it costs nineteen grand. Good luck finding a faster car for less cash! The silver Z/28 looks great, as it should with such low mileage. Obviously never a daily driver, it's been a serious toy almost since day one. And even though it's now 17 years old, it hardly looks it with a modern appearance thanks to a blacked-out roof hoop and those sinister wheels. The composite body panels are in excellent condition and the factory-applied paint shines up beautifully, so you'll be wanting to get this one to every show you can find. The updated nose on these final fourth-gen Camaros is arguably their best look, a bit softer but less boy-racer, perfect if you like to walk softly and carry a big stick. Tinted windows help with the cockpit look and this one carries factory T-tops for a bit of open-air fun on sunny days. It's never been hit or wrecked, and despite the supercharged powerplant, it sure looks like it's been babied every day of its life. No road rash on the rockers, no beat up nose, and a smooth surface that's been washed and waxed on a regular basis. The gray cloth interior didn't really need upgrades to be a highly functional driver's compartment, and the low-key look certainly helps with the stealth factor. The seats, carpets, door panels, and other soft parts are in exceptional shape, showing almost no wear, which is rather amazing for a car that's approaching two decades old. The Z/28s came pretty much loaded with everything, including A/C, power windows, seats, locks, and mirrors, cruise control, and a full array of gauges, and it's all working properly. An aftermarket boost gauge was discreetly added to the center console, but that's the lone modification inside. Heck, even the AM/FM/CD stereo is still the original Delco unit. The T-tops still seal up well and the trunk is big enough to handle a few overnight bags on your next road trip. Later Z/28s like this one got the Corvette's all-aluminum LS1 engine, and while GM was playing games with the numbers, it ran like every one of the 305 horsepower was working overtime. Adding a Vortech supercharger and a Power Cooler intercooler means that output is well into the 400s without affecting drivability. Lay off the throttle, and it runs like any other LS1, with smooth road manners and no complaints about city traffic. But get it out in the open and let it stretch its legs, well, it's a different story. Boost comes on smoothly, prodding you to go faster, and the well-spaced ratios in the 6-speed manual gearbox mean that it's easy to keep it in the fat part of the torque curve. A glance underneath reveals that everything's pretty stock and in great shape, so you know it always lived someplace warm. It's been lowered slight for a wicked stance and the gunmetal gray 5-spoke alloys and big Goodyear radials look exactly right. Nasty fast and very attractive, this Camaro under-promises and over-delivers and for the money, you won't find a more enjoyable muscle car.
