Designed as the larger sibling to the 2-seat SL, the stretched platform added back seat functionality and a remarkably handsome profile that gives this car a look and feel all its own. With just two owners and a beautiful recent restoration, plus Mercedes-Benz's legendary build quality, it's a superb runner. This car was purchased by the owner's father-in-law in 1978, so long-term history is excellent. It was restored in 2008, taken down to bare metal, and sprayed with its original metallic root beer color. With a brilliant shine that's typical of high-end finishes using two-stage urethane, this car still looks like an A-list celebrity. There's absolutely no rust, thanks to a history in the warm southern US, and no evidence that it has ever been in an accident. The R107 platform was built like a Panzer tank, and as a result body gaps are exact, the doors open and close with a precision that will delight you, and it still seals up tightly to be whisper quiet on the highway. All the rubber (and there's a lot of it with the federally-mandated bumpers) is in excellent condition, and despite living in the sun, things like the gills in the quarter windows and the plastic lenses are beautifully preserved. Cosmetically, there can't be many nicer SLCs available anywhere. Inside, the leather interior, which was a rare upgrade over the standard MB-Tex, is equally nice. The buckets are firm and supportive and built to carry passengers great distances in maximum comfort. Other soft parts like the door panels, carpets, and headliner are similarly excellent. Sisal floor mats are a nice touch, which surely helped protect the carpets, and the darker brown dash top was purely intentional to help reduce glare. The SLC came standard with just about everything, including A/C, cruise control, power sunroof, and there's a great sounding AM/FM/CD stereo in place of the original Becker Grand Prix unit. There's also a wonderful wood-rimmed steering wheel that adds a bit of warmth to the interior and even the beautifully upholstered trunk shows almost zero wear thanks to a custom embroidered trunk mat. The 4.5 liter V8 under the hood was one of Mercedes' better powerplants. With a bubbly V8 idle and a smooth flow of torque that's more electric motor than piston engine, it makes the SLC a sporting machine that delivers entertaining performance. It's also as reliable as a wood stove, with most examples running for hundreds of thousands of miles with only routine maintenance. It's clean and well-maintained under the hood, and a fresh alternator is a welcome sight, as this is one of the lone weak spots in the car's specifications. The three-speed automatic shifts well, and the chassis is quite clean. Traditional Mercedes alloys look exactly right and carry recent 205/70/14 Michelin blackwall radials. This car also includes all the restoration photos and maintenance records, so you can buy with confidence. An impressive car for not a lot of money. This 1965 Mustang coupe is just the right kind of car to get started in the hobby and no collection is complete without one of Ford's pony cars. It's not perfect, it's not a horsepower monster, but it is a clean, dependable, fun way to have fun in an old car without breaking the bank. No other car can deliver the experience of an early Mustang for so little cash. You can hardly go wrong with a bright red Mustang, and while it was originally Springtime Yellow, the current color is closer to Poppy Red, which means you're going to get a lot of attention. It was never intended to be a show car (coupes just don't command the prices to justify a $10,000 paint job), but it presents rather well and you won't worry about driving it just about anywhere. Rain? No problem. Bugs? Forget about it. It's got a clean, honest look that works best on coupes and it's been spared the stripes and wings that plague so many other ponies. You'll note that it fits together extremely well, with good gaps and tight seams all around, so it has probably never been wrecked or rusty and seems to have led a pretty good life. A few chrome pieces make the Mustang look dressy, including the 1965-only grille with the cross-hairs, the quarter panel insert, and, of course, a shiny gas cap in the center of the rear panel. You'll also note two exhaust pipes hanging under the bumper, but we'll get to that in a moment. The black bucket seat interior is how this car was originally delivered and it's in very good shape overall. It's probably a combination of original and replacement parts, because some things are just too nice to be 50 years old, including the carpets and the seat covers. There's a deep-dish steering wheel that's wrapped in an aftermarket cover, so it has a thicker rim that feels great, and the standard instruments keep an eye on the basics. The dash pad, headliner, and other soft parts don't need any attention at all, and with an AM/FM/cassette radio powering speakers on the rear package shelf, it's ready to go. The shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission falls easily to hand and looks great between the seats and the back seat is in great shape, too. A neatly detailed trunk with a proper plaid mat and spare tire with cover makes this little car feel complete, and you'll note there's no sign of the original yellow paint, so the respray was quite thorough. Experts will note that the VIN contains a "C" which means a 2-barrel 289, but somewhere along the way someone has installed a smooth-running 200 cubic inch inline-six, which is hardly a handicap. It's rebuilt and has a legendary reputation for durability and smoothness, and if you look around, you'll find a lot of guys who are very passionate about this engine. It looks quite stock with Ford Blue engine enamel, but it's dressed up with a chrome valve cover and open-element air cleaner that has a definite Mustang vibe. The transmission shifts crisply and smoothly and with 2.80 gears out back, it's a wonderfully efficient car on the highway. The exhaust has a 1-into-2 muffler out back, which explains the dual exhaust and it gives the six a great sound that's a little different than all the rest. You'll also find a new gas tank out back and 195/75/14 whitewall radials on stock steel wheels with traditional Mustang hubcaps. For entry-level fun, it's hard to beat a Mustang coupe. Everyone loves these cars and few will realize just how affordable they are. A great opportunity for the first-time classic car buyer. Big horsepower, no roof, and a minimum of creature comforts, it was the modern embodiment of the original Cobra. This 1994 Viper, like many of its kind, has been cherished by its owner and remains a monument to an era when Chrysler reinvented itself on the back of the snake. There's probably nobody on the road who doesn't recognize this nasty black Viper as something remarkable. The swoopy body was rendered in various plastics, not aluminum like the Cobra, but the resemblance is definitely there. Perhaps there are only so many ways to clothe a giant engine and a minimalist chassis. Anyway, the long hood, short deck look totally works here and has been washed and waxed so carefully throughout its life that it still has a showroom shine. Sure, it's been driven, but only 45,397 miles, and there is no evidence of abuse or track use anywhere on the car. Even things like the chin spoiler and rocker panels remain in good order with very little road rash, and if this car has ever seen rain, I'd be shocked. Black paint is always hard to maintain, but this one shines up beautifully and really shows off the clean lines of the early Viper with a minimum of styling add-ons and no stripes. It's just brutal. Inside, the minimalist approach paid serious dividends with a pair of deeply bolstered buckets and only the essentials. By 1994 A/C was an option, and it's included on this car, but other than that, if it didn't make the car go faster, it was not available. The leather driver's seat shows minor signs of wear, but no damage or even scuffs on the side bolsters where they take the most abuse. The wide center console straddles the 6-speed manual transmission, and the instruments are all individually nestled into their own round openings in the dash. The original stereo was a cheesy off-the-shelf Chrysler piece, so it's been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/CD unit that sounds worlds better thanks to two amplifiers and a trio of thundering subwoofers in the trunk, and it can be heard even over the sound of the side pipes. There are, of course, no windows, but the toupee-like top and side curtains are included, and they've probably never been used, which is how it should be. The Viper's whole reason for existing in the first place was to showcase Chrysler's new V10 truck engine. Never mind that the all-aluminum engine in the Viper didn't share even one component with the truck lump and that the work was farmed out to Lamborghini instead. The net result is a torque monster that catapults the roadster forward at any speed, in any gear. The bright red intake manifold is a work of art all by itself, and the spotless engine bay is more proof of a dedicated and conscientious owner. The chassis looks like a fabricated piece, which it pretty much was, but it came built for combat with an A-arm suspension and massive disc brakes at all four corners. The mechanicals are virtually bulletproof and have demonstrated over the years that Chrysler over-engineered their halo car because they knew nobody would be taking it easy with the loud pedal. This one wears chrome wheels from a later model and suitable Michelin 17-inch performance radials, which were as big as tires got in 1994. The Viper is still the king of the hill, and even after 20 years, this one will still break hearts. It's also nicely finished with an easy-to-own six-cylinder engine and automatic transmission, making it one of the smartest collectable icons you can own. Bright red Mustangs are a staple of the old car community, but nobody ever seems to get tired of them. This looks like a good approximation of Signal Flare Red, but whatever it's called, it looks great on the handsome convertible bodywork. Clearly a lot more than the asking price was pumped into the project and they seem to have started with a decent car, so it was relatively easy to make it look so good. It's not perfect, but if you want a Mustang to drive, this one has the right look and a no-worries attitude that doesn't mind a little rain. Fortunately, it hasn't been covered in stripes or fake badges and keeps its honest entry-level look that was probably a lot more common in the late-60s than it is today. The chrome and other bright pieces are in good shape, and you will likely discover like all Mustang owners eventually do, that everyone is your friend when you drive a vintage Mustang no matter what's living under the hood. The bright red interior is quite nicely turned out, with relatively recent seat covers on the low-back buckets that duplicate the originals in pattern and materials. The three-spoke steering wheel is standard Mustang-issue and looks sporty with a leather wrapper, while the instrument panel offers a complete array of GT-spec gauges that became standard equipment in 1966. The carpets are a little faded but that doesn't diminish the appeal of the Mustang's interior, and yes, there's a console running down the middle, a nice addition to any Mustang's interior. An AM/FM/cassette radio lives in the dash, but no cutting was required for the installation, and there's a modern cup holder setup to make it a bit more practical. It includes a white convertible top that's in good condition, as well as a matching red boot to keep it clean-looking with the top down. Pop the trunk and you'll find a reproduction trunk mat and a full-sized spare tire with a matching cover. The engine is a nice-running 200 cubic inch inline-six, which really was the heart of the Mustang lineup for the early years. All the signs point to this being the Mustang's original engine and it's nice to see that it hasn't been "upgraded" to a V8, because the Sprint 200 is a fun engine in its own right. A "Powered by Ford" valve cover and a silver air cleaner add some zip to the under-hood area, and all the major components are in excellent shape and ready to enjoy. It still exhales into a single exhaust system with transverse muffler, and the undercarriage is in good shape with plenty of evidence of a good life in a car-friendly climate, although it's mostly original. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts nicely and with highway gears out back, it has plenty of punch around town but cruises happily at modern highway speeds. 14-inch steel wheels with classic wire wheel covers wear recent 195/75/14 whitewall radials. The Mustang still represents a lot of affordable fun, so if you're looking for and affordable yet popular way into the hobby, this handsome little convertible is an excellent choice. With recent paint, a strong-running small block, and a very reasonable price, this F-body delivers a whole lot of bang for the buck. Repainted within the last year, the frosty silver finish gives this Z/28 a sophisticated, upscale look that's all out of proportion to its price tag. They skipped the usual decals, making it clean and sleek rather than dated-looking, and that's a big plus when you're talking about one of these cars. The urethane nose is in excellent shape, there's a billet insert in the lower grille opening for a cleaner look, and that hood is still one of the best designs of the era. Out back, you get a three-piece rear spoiler on the trunk that's as much a part of the Camaro look as the Bowtie emblem. The work is quite good, not show quality but certainly in line with what you would have received from the factory, and we have to admit that after looking at so many of these in plain, boring '70s colors, the silver looks pretty darned good to our eyes. It doesn't look like it's ever been a rusty car. A few bumps and bruises on the chin spoiler are the major demerits, but that's probably unavoidable and it's really quite minor. The black and gray interior is a combination of new and original components and all together, it has a very sleek, up-to-date look. The seats are in excellent shape and are as supportive as they look, perfect for the Z/28's performance. The carpets are in good order, protected by some heavy-duty floor mats and the door panels are probably original pieces that still look decent. The gray dash, steering wheel, and center console add some contrast that really brightens up the interior and the gauges are in good order. The steering wheel is one of the cooler designs to come out of GM in the 1970s, a kind of homage to the string-wrapped steering wheels racers used in the teens and '20s, and the shifter is only a few inches away. A later Pioneer AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo head unit is in the dash and this car carries options like power windows and locks, so it's easy to use in the daily grind. The trunk is also pretty original, with factory mats and a spare tire with matching cover. The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8 with 4-bolt mains that's been rebuilt to deliver more power than you'd generally get in 1979. An Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor surely help, and it sure idles like there's an upgraded camshaft inside. The engine bay is tidy, with the chrome air cleaner being the only component that really stands out as non-OEM, and the reliable hardware is hard to beat. Stock-style cast iron exhaust manifolds feed a true dual exhaust system that sounds great and the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission has quick reflexes for around town cruising. It's tidy and clean, if not detailed for show underneath, and with highway-friendly gears in the 10-bolt rear end, this is an easy car to like regardless of what you're doing with it. 5-spoke alloy wheels from a later Z have been fitted and they carry 235/60/15 white-letter radials that look brand new. A clean, sleek take on an old favorite, this Camaro delivers fresh paint and a strong-running motor for a very small investment. Just go out and have fun with it and call today! 1979 Chevrolet Camaro for Sale 1979 Chevrolet Camaro for Sale Stock # 2878-ATL Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Keep everything that's great about a 1967 Mustang fastback, and subtly upgrade it in ways that improve performance and comfort without diluting its essential "Mustang-ness." A slam-dunk in every possible way, this pony is ready to play! From the GTA grille to the bright white rocker panel stripes, this fastback screams performance. And if you're going to drive a big flashing advertisement for speed like this, you'd better be sure it's right because all eyes will be on you. As a result, the bodywork is nicely done and the vivid electric blue paint jumps out at you right away. Just sight down one of those quarter panels and you'll see crisp reflections staring back at you. The doors line up just so, and the hood fits right. The only possible demerits are the use of some original trim and maybe a few chips that only prove this Mustang was built to drive. The paint is called Super Sonic Blue, and it glows like it's radioactive or something, especially when the sun's going down and the light's hitting it just right. There are proper GTA badges on the rockers, but even without them, there's no question what this car is, which probably speaks loudly of its status as an icon. The interior is pretty stock, and when the design is right, is there any reason to add a bunch of upgrades? The bucket seats wear correct pleated seat covers that are in good condition and the center console with the automatic transmission's T-handle shifter is a critical part of the GTA's street cred. A handsome wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel looks a lot like a Shelby piece, and it frames the original gauges, which are joined by a pair of Auto Meter dials for oil pressure and temperature. An updated stereo head unit lives in the original AM radio's slot in the dash, just above the cool "garage door" storage compartment that was a cool feature on the '67s. The back seat shows a little ear and some fading, which is probably inevitable given the fastback's big rear window, but you can't beat the practicality of a fold-down rear seat. In addition, the trunk is ready for your gear and offers what appears to be a recent gas tank. The engine is a torquey 390 cubic inch V8 that was the top engine in 1967. Upgrades include an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor, trick open-element air cleaner, and a set of beautiful ceramic-coated long-tube headers. The engine is covered in Ford Blue paint and works rather well with the blue bodywork. Custom finned aluminum valve covers are a retro touch that looks right at home in this vintage Mustang and a heavy-duty cooling system with dual electric fans manages the BTUs. It's backed by a stout C6 3-speed automatic and a 9-inch rear, so the powertrain's virtually bulletproof. Disc brakes were added up front, along with a new front suspension that includes tubular A-arms and power rack-and-pinion steering. Big block mufflers sound downright wicked with the snarky big block, and it sits on classic Halibrand-style alloys and staggered 245/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear performance radials. When an automaker takes a chance and builds something unique and special, regardless of whether it's a success, everyone who loves cars should applaud the effort. And there's certainly a lot to appreciate in the SSR, a roadster pickup with the heart of a Corvette, so there's no question you'll love owning and driving this one. The look was ostensibly inspired by the "Advance Design" pickups of the 1940s and early 1950s, but the sleek, modern take on the ancient pickup makes the SSR eyeball candy for the everyman. The SSR also introduced new technology to GM, including the deep-draw fenders which were previously impossible to create. But all that's really beside the point, because this sucker looks awesome! Basic black is kind of a low-key color on the flashy little pickup, but it does highlight the awesome body shapes, accenting the curvaceous fenders and tying in neatly with the SSR badges on the doors. And unlike so many of its peers, this one is quite stock and shows just 21,090 original miles, which is a good thing because you don't want one that's been abused. In fact, this one seems to have never seen anything more inclement than a spring shower, with great paint that shows an above-average factory finish suggesting that GM painters (even if they were robots) knew they were building something special. Black leather buckets and every possible comfort and convenience item were standard equipment on the SSR. If you wanted one loaded, your only options were an upgraded sound system and choice of transmissions (this one has the 4-speed automatic, which is only .2 seconds slower in the quarter-mile than the 6-speed manual). Everything works, of course, including the trick gauges that do a neat little dance whenever you key it up, and the instrument panel is joined by a color-matched center console with its own set of auxiliary dials. It's a neat blend of futuristic looks and retro touches like the steering wheel, all of it working together to create one heck of a fun machine. And while the bed is ostensibly that of a pickup, the weather-proof tonneau cover, wood rub strips, and full carpet set suggests that it was designed for something other than hauling raw materials. In 2005, the fun was increased by 30% with the addition of the Corvette-based LS2 powerplant. At 6.0 liters, it makes a nice, fat 390 horsepower and 405 pounds of torque, enough to lop more than two seconds of the performance of its earlier siblings. While that would make me angry if I bought one of the early ones, the point is that you can own this 2005 without the fear that you didn't buy the right one. As you'd expect, this one has been properly maintained and used only as a fair-weather toy, so there are no modifications under the hood, despite a lot of the Corvette gear simply bolting on. The suspension and brakes still work like new, the transmission clicks off rocket-fast shifts, and, well, it even still feels like a new truck. Even the chrome alloys look bright and unmarked, wearing 255/50/19 front and massive 295/40/20 rear Goodyear run-flat radials with plenty of life left in them. Still stunning a decade after its debut, this is a lot of fun that's also surprisingly practical. If you can't quite make up your mind whether you want a Camaro, a Corvette roadster, or a pickup, perhaps this is the solution. One owner has taken care of it from new, and that kind of love translates into a high-quality car with a lot of recent upgrades, including a fresh crate motor. Remarkably affordable, this is a great way to own a well-maintained Camaro without spending your kids' college fund. This car was special ordered in 1979 and as a result, it looks very clean and subtle without the usual graphics, decals, and other add-ons that plagued cars of the era. It was repainted in the 1990s, duplicating the original dark blue paint and the combination of good base stock and careful workmanship has resulted in a car that looks great today. Sure, it's got a few signs of use, because this car has been properly exercised throughout its life, but at this price you're not expecting perfection anyway. There's an aftermarket sunroof, but otherwise it wears all its factory equipment, including the ducktail spoiler out back, and it's all in excellent shape. This car has always lived indoors, and there's evidence of that in the bright trim, which still looks great, and there's no evidence of accident damage or rust in this car's past. The interior is completely original, which tells you a lot about how well-loved this car was. The cloth inserts on the high-back bucket seats give it a slightly upscale look and it's in remarkably good shape all things considered. The carpets might be showing their age, but if it bugs you replacements are cheap and easy and would remedy the only notable demerit in this very clean interior. A center console, remarkably, wasn't standard on the Camaro but it's nice to see one here and the gauges are in very good condition too. And yes, that special order means that a 4-speed was original equipment, and it's now topped with a Hurst cue ball shifter. An AM/FM radio provides entertainment and aside from some light fading on the seat back, the rear seat area is excellent. The trunk is tidy and as with many one-owner cars, it carries what very well might be the original spare tire. After 35 years, the original 350 cubic inch V8 was getting tired, so a GM dealership was tapped to install a brand new 350 crate motor and dress it up like a stocker. There's proper corporate blue paint on the engine itself, and the original air cleaner housing was retained, albeit slightly modified to support a little more horsepower. The work was done in 2004, but that was only about 1500 miles ago, so everything is still quite fresh and in excellent condition. Turn the key and it lights off easily and runs superbly with crisp shifts from the 4-speed behind it. It now uses a dual exhaust system that ditches the restrictive stock setup, so it sounds appropriately powerful and the suspension was rebuilt when the engine was installed, so it handles well. Color-matched wheels with trim rings and 235/60/14 white-letter radials round out the look, making a car that looks very authentic indeed. You've undoubtedly noticed that prices are inching up on second-gen Camaros and we think this one represents one heck of a deal, especially with all the upgrades. With a Corvette-derived L98 V8, a cool color combination, almost every available option, and just 9166 original miles (not a typo), this is the one to put away for posterity. Yeah, it's a lot of money for a 1990 Camaro, but go ahead and try to find a nicer one. If you have a collection with a convertible IROC-shaped hole in it, this car deserves to be there. The paint is almost entirely original except for the trunk lid, which blends in so well you'd never know unless we told you, and there are some very, very minor signs of use on the high-traffic areas like the chin spoiler. Otherwise, this one is showroom fresh and beautifully maintained. Black is always a challenge to maintain, but it remains glossy and bright with minimal micro-scratches that cars get if they haven't been carefully stored and dusted. The IROC's look is undeniably aggressive, but in black, it's also sophisticated, especially with that single blue stripe running around its perimeter, which is really the only flashy part of the whole car. Details like the door handles, the emblems, the IROC-Z decals on the doors, and even the taillights are in virtually as-new condition. Gray leather buckets are a lot more luxurious looking than you'd expect in an F-body, but don't forget, this was the top-of-the-line model with an original sticker about where it's priced today. There are few minor signs of use on the driver's seat, which is probably inevitable after 25 years, but it is entirely original and untouched, which is the important thing. You'll also be happy to note that this one is equipped with just about every option you could get in 1990: A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and even a tilt steering column with an airbag steering wheel. All L98 cars were automatics because there were no 5-speed that could handle the 350's torque, but you'll never miss the clutch because this one has such quick wits. An AM/FM/cassette stereo will take you back to high school when this was the car everyone longed to have. There's a nice-fitting black canvas convertible top that remains in excellent original condition and it stows under a flush-fitting hard deck. The trunk is deep enough for a few pieces of luggage, too! The 350 cubic inch L98 engine was directly descended from the Corvette. Rated at 230 horsepower and a stout 330 pounds of torque, it was the answer to that pesky 5.0 Mustang from across town. The familiar Tuned Port Injection intake manifold is easy to recognize and the engine bay is almost entirely original save for some basic maintenance parts. No modifications, no bolt-ons, not even a K&N air filter, it's ideal for the collector who prizes authenticity. An afternoon of detailing will really make it sparkle and if you want a car that'll wow them in preservation classes, this is it. The 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive means the big V8 just loafs along at highway speeds and it's got a very aggressive exhaust note that lets everyone know it's serious. The undercarriage is also completely untouched; heck, it's still sitting on its original 245/50/16 Goodyear Gatorback tires and unmarked 5-spoke alloy wheels. Original cars are all the rage these days and when they're this good, well, it's easy to understand why. An incredible survivor in every sense of the word. With a great color combination, a 4-speed manual gearbox, and a bunch of desirable options, this is an entry-level collectable with all the hard work already done. While most Camaros of this vintage were garish '70s colors, the relatively subtle code 69 Dark Camel is just right for a '70s muscle car. They took it easy on the stripes, too, framing the cool hood scoop and wheel wells, but it's surprisingly tame for the period. The important thing is that someone spent a lot of time and money refinishing the bodywork to its current high level, with modern paint giving it a brilliant shine and only a few signs of use since it was completed. Those long doors fit quite well and don't need a heavy slam to close, and the nose and tail pieces fit flush with the bodywork and are actually the same color as the rest of the car, which was definitely not the case in 1978. Correct Z28 emblems in the grille, on the front fenders, and between the taillights are correct color-matched pieces, and while you're admiring the rear end, check out how well that spoiler fits. This was not some quickie spray and pray job; someone built this car out of love. The interior is not only quite nicely preserved, but it's also a handsome light-colored complement to the exterior paint. The high-back buckets look fantastic, even decades later, and are matched by the quality of the door panels and carpets. The steering wheel was obviously designed to look like a vintage string-wrapped competition piece and has aged quite well without the usual UV damage, probably thanks to a large cover protecting it. All the gauges are bright and crisp, and yes, that's a factory close-ratio 4-speed, a somewhat rare option in 1978 and one that adds a lot of fun to the car's resume. The original AM/FM stereo remains in the dash, and it also carries goodies like power windows and a center console. Custom Z/28 logo floor mats help protect what might be original carpets, and the back seat looks almost new. The trunk is extremely clean, too, with a correct black fabric and matching spare tire assembly with jack. The Z28 carried the top engine, a 350 rated at 185 horsepower and a stout 270 pounds of torque, but this one, with a recent rebuild and a few performance tweaks, runs even better than those numbers would suggest. The engine bay is exceedingly clean, with the engine wearing correct corporate turquoise paint and dressed up with items like a chrome air cleaner and valve covers. Performance upgrades include the Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel carburetor, as well as a throaty dual exhaust system that's better than anything the Feds permitted in 1978. The 4-speed powers through the gears, and the 10-bolt out back packs 3.42 gears on a Posi, which are a nice balance between acceleration and easy highway cruising. The floors are incredibly clean and even though it's not detailed for show, it's easy to see that this car lived someplace warm for most of its life. Factory alloy wheels are in excellent shape and wear 235/60/15 white-letter radials. If you like the look, this Camaro will likely turn out to also be a smart investment in the not-too-distant future. When it's a 1969 Camaro and you dress it up like an all-conquering Yenko, then you've really got something special. Built with a professional eye and attention to detail, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro gives a nod to one of the most potent muscle cars of all time. We don't have room to go into the Don Yenko story; suffice to say his creations are some of the most treasured of all '60s performance machines. Without about a half-million dollars to spare, you've probably decided that you'll never have one. Well, here's your chance to pick up a beautifully finished Camaro that will still run with some seriously fast hardware. You won't sneak around, thanks to the bright orange paint job and white Yenko graphics, but you can rest assured that every eye will be on you as you roll into the local cruise night parking lot. The paint shows crisp reflections and looks like it's just out of the spray booth. With a cowl induction hood and a ducktail spoiler, it looks the part, far more importantly, it can back it up. That bright white vinyl interior complements the exterior quite well, and everything is so new that you're going to think twice about climbing in without first brushing yourself off because it's ultra clean. Fresh seat covers and replacement door panels replicate the factory stuff to complete the look. Clean black carpets and a straight dash create a great contrast in the cabin, with wood appliqu highlighting the center console. Hurst supplied the shifter for the 4-speed, complete with white shifter knob (AKA cue ball), and there is an AM/FM/cassette player in the dash. Although clearly built for speed, this F-body isn't without some creature comforts. Power front-disc brakes help this monster stop on a dime, power steering make maneuverability a cinch, and if the power windows don't get a breeze to you fast enough, the all-new Vintage Air R-134a system surely will when it's blowing cold out of the dash. The real reason you want this Camaro is what's under the hood: a giant, tire-shredding 454 cubic inch V8 that looks absolutely incredible sitting in the black engine bay. It wears Chevy Orange, chrome, and finned valve covers like few other power plants can. A Demon carburetor sends air and fuel through a polished intake manifold, and the spent gasses are sent through after-market headers and a dual exhaust system for a down right aggressive sound. A solid 4-speed manual transmission is mated to that big block and it sends power to a 10 bolt rear end. Power steering and power brakes handle turning and stopping duties, while Torque Thrust wheels complete the Yenko look and are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber measuring 215/65/15 up front and 235/60/15 out back. Someone has already invested heavily in this car's build, it would be impossible to duplicate, this caliber of craftsmanship, for the asking price. Finding a Camaro this nice for the asking price is a hard feat in itself, finding one with killer Yenko looks is even harder. Offering an awesome color combination, factory A/C, and an entertaining drive, this is a lot of Mustang for the money. Code 5A is called Pewter in Ford vernacular, and it looks absolutely incredible on the "flatback" bodywork. Even with the stripes and blacked-out hood treatment, this Mustang looks sophisticated, like a muscle car for a grown-up, and loses none of its performance attitude despite the subtle color. It was freshly repainted in the last few months and looks extremely good, with a deep shine and just the right combination of silver and gold in the final mix. The Mach 1 was the top-of-the-line offering in 1972, and you'd better believe Ford wanted to get it noticed, so it wears a front chin spoiler, a performance hood with NACA (not NASA) style hood scoops, and a rear wing out back. It also gets traditional Mustang performance items like the rear window slats, lower valence with trumpet-style exhaust tips, and the aforementioned stripes, which are an obvious riff on the Boss 302 graphics. There's not much chrome aside from the rear bumper, and that's in excellent shape, and even the body-colored urethane front bumper looks pretty much as-new. This is an easy car to like. The two-tone black and silver interior nails the same sophistication that the bodywork enjoys. The seats have obviously been re-covered, and since the original color was green, just about everything else has been replaced at some point. There's some age on the carpets on the lower half of the door panels and the center console has a few nicks, but there's nothing in here needing any immediate attention. The factory gauges include a tachometer and auxiliary dials in the center stack, as well as a clock on the console. Factory A/C is backed by modern components working behind the scenes to make it efficient, and there's an AM/FM stereo radio in the middle of the dash that powers speakers in the rear quarter panels for surprisingly big sound. The trunk is clean and carries what may just be the original spare tire and a jack assembly. The 351 cubic inch V8 under the hood was rebuilt a few years ago and pretty much sticks to the factory recipe. Up top there's a 4-barrel Holley carburetor, but otherwise it is the way Ford intended. The big air cleaner assembly dominates the engine bay, but the modern A/C compressor gives you a little breathing room and you'll note that all the hoses are new. It could easily be taken up a notch with an afternoon of detailing, but even as it sits, this is a great driver-grade car that's obviously led a good life. It starts easily, idles well, and moves with surprising torque on tap, which is aided by the quick-shifting C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Flowmaster mufflers add that familiar Ford Mustang performance exhaust note and Magnum 500 wheels never looked better than when they're mounted on one of these early '70s Mustangs. 205/70/14 Goodyear radials at all four corners deliver sure-footed handling and an easy ride. With the prices on early Mustangs inching up all the time, we're seeing some gains on these cars as well. We love the look of this Mach 1 and with all the heavy lifting already done, there's nothing left to do but get in and have some fun. Not quite a resto-mod, it retains its original "Camaro-ness" but polishes it in such a way that this is a lot more than a garden-variety F-body. The familiar Camaro shape has been completely restored, and clearly the work was done on a rotisserie, because it's as clean underneath as it is up top. A steel cowl induction hood was installed during the reconstruction of the car, and it only emphasizes the ultra-clean lines of the early Camaro. A blacked-out SS grille smooths the front of the car for a custom look and it works rather well with the Z/28-style chin spoiler. Out back, a ducktail spoiler adds traditional Camaro styling and while there's a body-colored gas cap, which works well with the rest of the car that has been almost entirely de-badged save for basic Camaro on the front fenders. The metallic blue paint is a totally custom mix that complements the ultra-smooth look, with an unbelievable finish that looks like it could slip through the air without even creating a breeze. Like I said, you could spend hours examining this and still be delighted by the tricks you find. That's especially true inside, where the buckskin tan bucket seat interior successfully blends stock and modified components to create something both tasteful and unique. Original low-back buckets look right at home in the early cockpit, and the rear bench has been upholstered with a matching seat cover for a very OEM look. Reproduction door panels were used, and we're so used to seeing cars with SS gear stuffed inside that the base model stuff looks pretty trick. The dash also gives away the fact that this is a factory A/C car as well, which has been upgraded with a modern Vintage Air setup using the original controls. A complete set of Auto Meter white-faced gauges now live in a custom gauge panel, surrounded by a stock wheel with a leather wrapper that looks and feels great. A custom center console houses the Hurst cue ball shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission and for entertainment, there's an AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds as good as the interior looks. The trunk is neatly outfitted with a massive subwoofer and a custom-fitted blue trunk mat that really dresses it up. The engine is a snarky 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate motor, heavily massaged to generate serious horsepower. There's a high-rise intake with a Holley carb up top and a set of long-tube headers feeding a new dual exhaust system. Beautiful chrome valve covers compliment the twin-snorkel stock air cleaner that blends styles for an all-new look. A lot of extra attention went into making the plumbing and electrical wiring look neat, and as a result the engine bay looks quite tidy around the handsome V8. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool and just about everything you can see has been freshened so it's ready to rock. Underneath, the front suspension upgraded with rack-and-pinion steering, while out back, you'll find a 12-bolt full of 3.31 gears which will snap your neck but with that Tremec 5-speed, it still loafs along on the highway as well. Those shiny aluminum wheels are by Billet specialties and wear 16-inch performance radials. Trick Camaros like this don't come along every day, and it neatly blends a correct factory look with modern tricks that make it a joy to drive. For most of us, the ideal early Camaro isn't much different from this cool black 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe: big block, manual transmission, gorgeous interior, all wrapped in a very stock-looking shell. The result is a sinister-looking car that runs even better than it looks. First generation F-bodies have different personalities depending on the color, but there's no mistaking a car dressed in brutal black. Hunkered down over polished Torque Thrusts, this car sits right, and the rake only emphasizes the aggressive hood with its built-in velocity stacks and traditional ducktail spoiler out back. Panel gaps are good all around, and while it's got some signs of use, there's no denying that the look totally works here. It's not perfect, but it looks aggressive enough to get respect on the street and against that black paint, details like the gill trim and wheel well moldings really stand out. The headlight doors work correctly and give the car an instantly identifiable face combined with the SS grille. Proper 396 badges are on the flanks, and they're definitely no joke. Deluxe bucket seats with houndstooth cloth inserts are a welcome change inside, where it looks quite stock. Everything is in good shape, from the seat covers to the carpets to the headliner, and the workmanship matches what the factory was doing. Like the exterior, it was done some time ago, so it's not as crisp as it once was, but if you like the idea of a Camaro being as comfortable as your favorite pair of jeans, this one works rather well. The Hurst cue ball controls a heavy-duty Muncie 4-speed, and there's no greater joy than running a big block through the gears. The original woodgrained steering wheel and wood appliques have been refinished, keeping with the stock vibe inside, and the trunk has been finished in correct spatter paint and topped with a reproduction mat. Ultimately, though, this car is all about power, and under the hood there's a built 396 cubic inch big block that now cranks out a big dose horsepower (350 if the decal on the air cleaner is to be believed). An Edelbrock intake manifold, giant Holley 4-barrel carburetor to keep it fed, and an MSD ignition system to light the fires all add up to an engine that makes this Camaro a legitimate threat on the street. Chrome valve covers give it a racy look under the hood, and the workmanship is tidy and functional, but clearly built to perform. Underneath, there are a ton of upgrades including power steering and brakes, a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system, and a 12-bolt rear end that doesn't mind the big block torque churning through it. It's been lowered a bit to give it that awesome rake, crouching over staggered Dunlop radials on polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. This Camaro has the right look, big horsepower, and our favorite interior, so if you want one of the most potent-looking F-bodies we've featured recently, this is it. This 2007 Saleen Mustang Parnelli Jones Edition is more than just a decal kit; it's a full-blown Saleen makeover wearing one of the most distinctive paint schemes in Mustang history. If this car doesn't make your heart race, well, maybe it's time to start collecting stamps. The retro-styled 2007 Mustang was ripe for customizers to start mining the past, but none did it so successfully as this Parnelli Jones tribute car built by Saleen. One part vintage Boss 302, one part modern Saleen, and one part race car, it has an awesome look that is nostalgic but still very contemporary. Finish quality, as you'd expect from Saleen, is exemplary, and the custom Grabber Orange paint is very, very close to the original 1970 hue. The finish is still like new, and with only 2340 original miles, that really shouldn't be a surprise. Boss 302 stripes, big gumballs on the doors and hood, and, of course, a Shaker hood all contribute to the awesome look. And for nostalgia fans, it also includes a chin spoiler, rear window slats, and a rear wing, all designed to emulate the car Parnelli Jones used to dominate the 1970 Trans-Am series. Heck, it's even got hood pins! The interior is a bit more restrained, but even here there are custom touches and tips of the hat to the vintage ponies that played such a big role in Ford's motoring history. Most obvious are the Grabber Orange seat inserts in the deeply sculpted buckets, which add a bit of color to the otherwise monochromatic interior. The pillow-tufted seat backs are reminiscent of '70s Fords as well, and the entire dashboard is a retro tribute to the 1968 Mustang GT. A few tasteful upgrades complements of Saleen include a special "PJ" horn button, a pair of auxiliary gauges in their own pods atop the dash, and the signatures of both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones himself, right there in the center stack. A few chrome dress-up items add some sparkle and custom gauge faces are a constant reminder that this isn't a garden-variety Mustang. It's all in pretty much as-new condition and these cars only came loaded, so it's got just about every option you could imagine. The trunk is untouched, both in terms of modifications and condition, reinforcing this car's as-new image. The engine started out as a garden-variety 4.6 liter V8, but the wizards at Saleen punched it out to a real-world 5.0 liters, the limit for Trans-Am series competition. The Shaker hood is completely functional, and the rest of the engine was treated to things like a set of ported aluminum heads, custom camshafts, forged pistons, steel crank and rods, and oversized fuel injectors, all of which are designed to emulate the race feel of the Trans-A Boss 302s. It's not necessarily a horsepower monster (but there's certainly plenty on tap) but rather a powerplant that feels like it could rev forever and this car is very, very fast. The 5-speed manual gearbox shifts beautifully and powers a stock rear end which now hangs on a sophisticated Watts linkage suspension for improved handling. In fact, the whole suspension got a Saleen makeover, including coil-over shocks, oversized sway bas, and upgraded bushings. A Saleen-spec exhaust system sounds downright wicked and those 19-inch custom wheels emulate the period Minilites used in competition, although they now wear 285/35/19 Pirelli rubber. Future collectable? Absolutely. This car is so filled with history that you almost need a trailer to haul it all. Beautifully built, insanely fast, and perfectly balanced, this might just be the ultimate retro Mustang.
