It was owned by one family and spent it's life on the farm in Roseburg Oregon until I purchased it. I replaced all the wheel cylinders, master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinders with new old stock parts. Runs and drives with no smoke or engine noise. Very nice example with some cosmetic restoration. New stain/smell free carpet front to tailgate and new seat cover bottoms and foam up front. I have the vinyl seatbacks/bottoms front and rear which i will include. I prefer the look of the original cloth. Awesome pioneer bluetooth headunit with remote and amp under seat with speakers front and rear, hand-free cellphone compatible and usb in glove box. Rare functioning factory inclinometer (digital clock not working). All lights for choke/brake/seatbelt/FWD as well as all guages (except fuel) are functioning properly. Gas gauge is brand new, i suspect sending unit is to blame (not accurate). Factory AC is in working condition and it holds a charge!! Blows cold!! No cracks in dash. All HVAC switches/fan etc.. function as does rear wiper and spray. Front headlights converted to hella glass h4s. All exterior lights/indicators etc are in working order. Registration/ins is current and title is clear I have original tool kit and owners manual. I serviced the front hubs and 4wd works both high and low. tires have around 2k. Very solid body with all metal look closely at door tips and bottoms sills and jams only area with small bubbles is around windshield frame. All wheel wells are metal and will hold a magnet. At some point hood and sides of truck were painted and blended. Roof and tailgate were not done and have a nice patina. Paint is decent with some scratches. It in no way prevents people in the know from commenting on this very rare (especially on the east coast) truck. The first week i had it a guy stopped in front of me hopped out of his car approached my drivers side window and offered to do any repairs it may need just because he owned one and wished he still had! Truck sits as is should with no sag. Ride is what you would expect with 2 straight axles and four leaf springs. Steering is vague with a 70's lincoln town car feel to it. This ain't no get away car. Under the hood is very original...notice all the smog/vacuum stuff is all there. Also take note of the paint on the firewall and inside fenders. I was told and believe that both the engine and trans have been rebuilt. Having driven it about 2k i have no reason to doubt this. Trucks starts/runs and shifts with a bolt action click-click. There is no sign of bad valves or rings. Oil pressure is perfect and the oil itself appears clean after some use Also i have roof racks that i will include with the sale I have a few more high res pictures avail that were too big for ebay not sure why the autocheck score is what it is or how they calculate the number of owners...i due have the original oregon title signed over to me price is high but should be higher if i had proof of rebuilt drive-train...considering interior is very good and the lack of rust along with working ac and FWD i feel it is justified. Not to mention the fact that your more likely to see big foot than another fj here in new england. Feel free to email questions or set up a test drive. This BJ40 is in original condition and has been well taken care of over the years. All the import paperwork has been completed and we have a clear Oregon title. The headache of importing is done - you do not have to wait 4 - 6 weeks for overseas delivery. The 4 speed - 3.0L diesel motor is known to be almost bullet proof and averages close to 30 mpg. The motor is in great condition, with only 60,000 original miles - see pictures and listen to it purr in the video. The vehicle has been mechanically reviewed from top to bottom by our mechanic who specializes in Toyota Land Cruisers. The interior has been updated with new seat-covers on both front and back seats, new seat belts, new original headliner, new door panels, new rubber door seals, and the floor was rhino-lined. The speedometer and oil pressure gages function well, but the gas and temp are not working. On the exterior, we installed new tires, shocks and added power-steering. The vehicle drives straight and has great power - see video. The body is clean and in great condition, there are some minor surface rust spots on the rear corner panel. The floor panel is solid and in good condition - some minor rust in the front under the driver side floor mat. The paint looks good and was recently done. RE-LISTED DUE TO BUYER CHANGING MIND, HE IS COVERING MY FEES, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE SURE THANKS Auto restoration shop offers this 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 LV (Left hand drive Van) as a running/driving project vehicle. This LV was found in an Oregon barn, parked since 1996. We brought it back to life, enough to load/unload on a trailer or drive down the street under it’s own power, not good enough for highway travel. These LV’s are extremely rare. Only 500 were imported to the USA from 1963-67. An estimated additional 500 went to other parts of the world. There is a LV registry, 66 of the 500 are accounted for. This LV is not on that list. All Land Cruisers have a cult following, I’ve restored dozens of FJ40’s, achieved some of the highest public auction prices (Mecum Barrett RM etc.) but have only heard of 1 LV at auction. Country singer Alan Jackson sold his at BJ around the $85,000 mark a few years ago. If you want something to restore, and want to be pretty darn sure you won’t see another one at any car show, this may be for you. A chevy small block has been installed. The motor runs fine, no blue smoke or disturbing noises. Block # 8958512 Deck Stamp # E9A27069, head # 8927186. Conflicting info, but looks like a 327 according to most casting books, the heads are the desired units as well. I did my best to copy the numbers correctly. Under the valve cover looks clean. Toyota 3 speed trans/case, stock axles. This LV is so rare, it deserves to be put back to stock, I suggest finding a good F inline six when under restoration, sell this 327. F motors of this era are fairly easy to get. I drove this truck 15 miles, no major complaints, just not tested enough to be driven at distance. BODY Rather than nit-pick an un-restored 50 year old vehicle, please look at the photobucket link with 77 pictures. Pics on my rack with the flash on, and outside. The worst of the rust is behind the front seat. There are some missing door pieces here and there. I don’t have any additional LV parts, everything you see in the pics are included. The stock wheels are still on, need caps (Toyota still sells). Some of the glass is cracked. This is my 2nd FJ45 LV, I’ve come across a couple more in my travels over the years, but they almost never have a title. This LV has a matching VIN tag, frame stamp and title. The title is clean clean signed off not dated or sale priced Oregon issue 1997. Easy to prove it has not changed hands since 97. This LV will only go up in value, with only a handful of that 66 accounted for actually on the road. Many are just frames or junk owned by dreamers, many without title. I have a great shipping broker whom I can pass onto you, or work with your shipper. I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit immediately after auction conclusion via PayPal. Very hard to find original type not hacked up Cruisers these days. This truck needs little things and cosmetic work, great start for a mild restoration. He drove the truck on his ranch, also to his other home in San Francisco on occasion. He had the original motor rebuilt in 1994, replaced the clutch at that time. He passed in 1996; the truck was stored in a barn until I bought it. I place wanted ads, and hand out cards in all the little rural towns I travel through, about the only way to get these type of barn find Cruisers. Owner’s son contacted me, I winched it on my trailer and off to my shop. I tested the major components, have it in a running/driving condition ready for the new owner to make it their own. Let me be more specific, this Cruiser can run/drive on and off a trailer or semi. NOT ready for distance travel. MECHANICAL The original F motor was rebuilt in 1994, the owner passed in 1996, not run since I got it in 2013. The motor has excellent compression, clean as a whistle inside, obvious very low miles on the rebuilt. The clutch was replaced in 94, operates well, 3 on the tree shifts well. We got the brakes working; it does run/drive/stop. The brakes need to be bled and adjusted. The original Toyota PTO winch is complete and works great. We cleaned out the carb, changed a few things to make it run. Good enough to drive on/off a trailer or down the street not dialed in enough to make a road trip. The expensive parts are in order, needs tinkering to be a daily driver. Some of the lights do not work, looks like all the gauges work. BODY All the panels are original to this truck. This truck is pretty rust free speaking FJ40. There are some spots of rot, pics on the link show well. Spots on the passenger floor, spot behind the driver seat. Just small sheet metal patches needed. Surface rust in the bed. The fenders are un-cut, the frame is excellent, and body mounts excellent. The bottoms of all 4 doors are excellent. Original wheels and good tread tires. This truck spent 10 days in my shop to get it to this point. We know it’s a good foundation to turn into a nice restored vehicle. Finding an original FJ40 is difficult, I know I’m redundant, but barn finds in rural areas are about it these days. Everyone knows the prices on these have sky-rocketed in the past few years. Complete factory PTO winch is a huge bonus. I believe this is a great start for a guy/gal that wants to tinker/learn/mild restore one of these legendary vehicles without having to spend the huge dollars all at once to buy one of my perfect restored units. I have a clean clear WA state title in my name in hand for this truck. I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit via PayPal immediately after auction conclusion. The rest bank to bank wire, cash in person, cashier’s check within 5 days closed auction. Vehicle or title do not leave my property until paid in full.
