I am selling my 914/6 with a heavy heart. It has been 4+ years since I bought it in Oregon where it had spent its entire life. I am not sure what it was prior to about 1980 but after the early years it was a race car and kept in a garage for at least its last 30+ years. I bought it and converted it to street use where it has been for 4+ years. It is a numbers matching car, engine number matches COA from Porsche. It has been used occasionally over the last 4+ years but I have since bought another car and something has to go - my wife says so! Not a full restoration but a complete refreshing of the interior, engine, transmission, exhaust, brakes undercarriage, front and rear trunks. I realize that is hard to believe it is rust free but the car is an Oregon car whose last home was in the collection of Monte Shelton of Portland, OR. Car was set up and maintained by Rothsport racing in Oregon and hell hole was repaired in the early 2000s. I spoke with Jeff Gamroth (of Rothsport) at the last Rennsport Reunion and although he wasn’t sure, he thought he might have owned the car at one point. Body - Car is painted signal orange as per the COA. It has been repainted and is really nice at 3 feet but up close one sees some cracking on the right front and the left rear fender. Great driver condition but needs repaint for perfection. A new windshield was installed and rear window was removed and resealed. Targa vinyl was removed and replaced with vinyl from 914Rubber. The underside of car had been covered with a black undercoating which I removed by hand using Eastwood’s “Undergone” product and Xylene which worked quite well. I left the factory undercoating on the car so as to not appear to hide its condition. I have applied new undercoating to a few spots where the original had been scraped off. Front trunk – When I bought the car it had a front oil cooler which I removed and had the pan replaced with a Restoration Design replacement piece. The portion of front panel used for oil cooler air inlet was replaced with a portion of an original panel purchased on 914World. All metal work was done by Ron’s Rods in Kingsville, MD. Everything in the front trunk was removed including the gas tank, trunk lid, air box and all air flow pieces. All air flow hoses were replaced with new ones, everything was cleaned and refurbished. The gas tank was cleaned and refurbished with Eastwood’s gas tank products and new pipe exit parts including stainless steel fuel lines from Tangerine Racing were installed. All wiring was cleaned and/or replaced. The original orange paint in both trunks had been sprayed over with an undercoating/black paint-like material which I was able to remove with lots of elbow grease and Xylene. As there was no rust, the paint was sanded, primed and then seam sealed. Rear trunk – The same black undercoating material and the old paint was removed with paint remover, checked for rust, new seam sealer as appropriate was applied and then repainted. European taillights added as were all the other removable items (tower covers, light and targa roof holders. Interior – The entire interior was removed, an Engmann chassis stiffening kit for longs and across firewall was installed, and the original floor sound deadening material was removed to check for rust of which there was none. Floor was primed and painted and Eastwood’s equivalent of Dynamat was put on the floor, longs, and interior side of firewall. The car has the original black interior seats, back panel, door panel, knee bar, seat belts and dash. The entire interior seats and backing material was replaced with a used set bought at Hershey. Dash has 2 minor cracks that have been repaired and the entire dash was redyed. All instruments have been refurbished by North Hollywood Speedometers, Inc. Carpet replaced with 914Rubber carpeting. Car has a Momo Corsa steering wheel but an excellent leather wrapped 914/6 wheel is included. The correct Blauplunkt blue dot radio fills out the dash. Dash vinyl replaced with new 914Rubber vinyl. Engine – Original numbers matching case. Engine was built by Rothsport Racing in OR in mid 2000s and maintained there as well. Time-certs, oil squirters, oil bypass mods were done at that time. Engine was refreshed with new biral cylinders, JE Pistons, ’74 heads refurbished by Anchor Atlantic, case sent to Ollie’s in AZ for align boring, case halves surfacing, strengthening case at #3, cleaning and check out. When Rothsport built the engine they chose Solex cams to provide performance as well as exceptional drive ability. Weber carbs were rebuilt, new clutch/pressure plate, all new bearings and bolts and sealed with sealants provided by Henry Schmidt. John Behe at At Speed Motorsports, Hanover, MD dyno tuned engine yielding 130+ wheel hp at 6000 rpm or approximately 170 crank hp. Currently fitted with carb hats but original air cleaner is included. A new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator has been installed. Ignition is MSD and Pertronic. Currently a green 911E fan housing cover is in place but the original black one is included in the sale. Transmission- Transmission was converted to side shifter and was rebuilt at a Dr. Evil clinic in VA. The airport gear set’s 4th and 5th gears were replaced with stock gears to make the car friendlier for around town and long drives. Transmission has a Porsche 930 LSD which Rothsport Racing added when they built the transmission. It was in good condition so I did not do anything else to it. It shifts great. The transmission shifts much smoother than my 915 transmission in my backdated RSR. Wheels – currently mounted with 15x7 Fuchs and new 195/65 Continental tires. Fuchs have been refinished with an RSR frosted finish. A set of 14” Fuchs with tires is also included. Three of the 4 have the correct date codes. Exhaust – Car has an original set of heat exchangers. There are a few holes in the heat exchanger but otherwise in good shape and perfectly functional. No holes in the exhaust pipes. Muffler is a new Dansk 2 in 2. Very impressive sound! Rubber and Vinyl – All vinyl and much of the rubber has been replaced with material from 914Rubber. Suspension/Brakes – Shocks are Bilstein front and rear with the rears being adjustable. New 140 lb. rear springs have been installed. Front has an adjustable sway bar. Front brakes are ‘80s Carrera and rears are stock 914/6 rebuilt by PMB. New hoses and new emergency brake cables were installed. The original air cleaner, padded steering wheel and the black fiberglass engine cover are included. The car is a kick to drive around and it has plenty of power when wanted. I hate to give it up but something has to go. Good luck with the raffle.

This car belongs to a collector. I am not sure what to do with it. one could leave it as is or restore to a certain degree. I do not want to make that decision with this car it is way too rare mess it up. The car is basically 100% except paint and original wheels are not installed. The original wheels come with car. The car has its books, tools, spare(unused) tire, jack and original footrest. The interior is original, no tears or cracks! Seats are extremely nice. I was very careful not mess with the car. No armorall or any other b.s. The car was kept in a dry garage in San Diego. The car drives really, really nice! Pulls nicely, brakes straight and solid, turns nicely with no slop in steering wheel. Suspension is feels right and transmission works as it should. That is a bit vague but no issues with grinding. Runs at the proper temp, gauges work etc. The car is tight. The only driving issue is the idle is a bit low until warm. About 500 rpm cold, needs about 75 imo. 750 rpm warm is perfect. There are the faintest signs of surface rust in 2 or 3 spots. extremely minimal. Again at this point, I have left alone and let the next owner make the decision. The car is too nice me for to drive. Hopefully a real Porsche collector will get this car. p.s. I also have a 75 turbo that is fully restored and nearly perfect for sale.

914-6 with extensive upgrades; all original parts included; good historyYear1970MakePorscheModel914VIN9140432386Mileage53468TransmissionManualEngine6 Cylinder, 2.2 LExterior ColorOrangeInterior ColorBlackTitleClear1970 Porsche 914-6Porsche's 914 used to be a red headed stepchild, but no more. Collectors have awoken to what enthusiasts have said for years: These light, mid-engined cars are a blast to drive. Leading the charge are rare 6 cylinder models like this stunning car here. It's not just another pretty face, either—this car comes with a serious track engine and plenty of minor tweaks!Signal Orange looks great on anything and especially on 914's. The paint is gorgeous having just gone through a $1500+ correction treatment. The bodywork is in excellent condition, and the car appears to be rust free. Rechromed bumpers join NOS and reconditioned trim for brightwork while all lenses are new. Fuchs wheels are timeless, and this set is beautiful. Rubber parts and seals were replaced when the car was restored. The interior is excellent with clean black upholstery on the stock seats and Coco mats on the floors. A Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel feels great in your hands while a big Auto Meter tach and a period 911 oil temperature/pressure gauge keep better tabs on the engine behind you. The unobtainium-filled oil temperature/fuel level gauge has been moved to an easily removable bracket in the center console. A fire extinguisher (which really should be in every vintage car) is on the passenger side floor. The rest of the interior is proper down to the radio in the dash. For collectors, the original and numbers matching complete engine long block is included in the sale. The current resident under the center lid is a MONSTER of a motor. It's a fully prepped magnesium 2 liter case with a fully counterweighted '70-71 S crank, Carillo connecting rods and JE pistons. New cylinder jugs and those pistons push displacement to 2.2 liters. 2.7 Liter heads with larger valves work to the beat of a custom set of Webcam camshafts. Air and fuel are ingested wholesale by a set of Weber 40IDA carburetors with modified venturis. 12.5/1 Compression crushes the mixture while twin spark plugs per cylinder and a pair of Electromotive ignition systems light it off. Exhaust gasses pass through equal length headers and a high flow muffler before being expelled through twin tailpipes. It currently runs on 93 octane but would need race fuel to reach its full potential: Redline is currently set at 7000rpm but the rotating assembly is capable of much higher. Heat is kept in check by a massive oil cooler ducted into the front trunk. The chassis is in excellent condition with newer bushings and clean hard parts. Braided brake hoses reach 911S calipers in the front and 911T calipers in the rear. Larger sway bars are at both ends along with Koni shocks and cross drilled brake rotors. The transaxle has been gone through fully and features a limited slip differential. This car is set up for canyon carving, open track days or competition—what it does next is up to you. A comprehensive list of spares and original parts also come with the car. A complete set of proper width Fuchs wheels, a bolt in roll bar, a racing front bumper and more are included and will require additional shipping consideration if the car is not picked up in person. A string of collectors has owned and cared for this car most recently, and some have used it to its potential on the track. This is a desirable car that's growing in value while fully capable of showing much newer sports cars its taillights. 1974 phoenix red 914 1.8 and had been repainted yellow before I got it in 1988. I drove the car for four years and then in 1992 started what turned into a 15 year restoration and conversion project. The conversion was completed in 2007. I have driven the car about 1,000 miles a year since that time. Unit Body: The wiring harness was removed and the car was dipped at American Metal Cleaning in Cincinnati Ohio. All rust was removed and a clean unit body was the starting point of this project. The car has no rust and no hell hole issues. It has a full safety devices roll cage. GT style chassis stiffing kit installed. Dyno mat sound deadener in both the passenger compartment and the firewall. There is an access panel behind the back pad for access to the fan belt. The fender flares are OEM steel and came from Stoddard in Cleveland back in 1993. The paint color is guards red. Suspension, Steering and Brakes: It has 1987 911 Carrera front suspension with sway bar. 180 lb rear springs on adjustable perches Weltmeister adjustable rear sway bar with drop links. 1987 911 brakes on all four corners including the hand brake set up just like a 911. The car has reinforced trailing arms, Adjustable rear Koni yellow shocks The master Cylinder is 19mm. The key is in the dash The steering column is from a 914-6. Other: The outer mirrors are early style. The car has working euro front turn signal lenses and parking lights The car has dual pairs of driving lights, each pair switched independently and they contain city lights that light up when the parking lights are on. The headlights are H4. The car has a rare Saratoga top. The rear spoiler is custom made from an Olds 442 The Hood pin plates are hand made to the exact size of the factory parts. The rocker panels are a combination of fiberglass and steel because the fiberglass ones don't fit very well. The shift knob is 917 style. The wheels are Real Fuchs off a late 80s 911 (7 and 8 x 15). The bumpers are steel and have the front grill over the oil cooler opening is all custom. The bumpers are all 914-6 GT style but steel. The rubber bumper tops are in like new condition. The car has a working battery cut off switch on the cowl. The fresh air fan blows and the wipers work. Front License plate on a custom receiver hitch style mount for easy removal. Finned Gas Cap in front hood. German metric Speedometer in KPH. Blaupunkt stereo and round 6” speakers (not pictured in interior shot) Dual lighter, cell phone chargers under dash. Secret fuel pump cut off switch. Remote rear trunk opener. Wink Mirror. Front tie down, tow hooks. Heavy duty metal seat retractor handles. Interior: The door panels inside the car are 914-6 GT style and even the bezels around the inlets for the pulls are custom made by a 914 world member back years ago. The car has a full leather interior, clean like new carpet. The car has a leather steering wheel with an original working hockey puck horn button. Drive Train: The engine is a 3.2 from a 1986 911. Front mounted Mocal oil cooler mounted up front with thermostat. Canton – Mecca Cartridge oil filter. 5 gallon aluminum dry sump Oil Tank located in the front trunk. Stainless steel braided oil feed and return lines. Headers are Jet Hot coated. M&K Sport muffler powder coated silver. Offered for sale is a unique and rare period correct Crown Turbocharged 1972 Appearance Group Porsche 914 1.7. Black on Black with 5 genuine Fuch wheels. This could be the black sheep bastard younger brother to the very fine 70 914-6 currently up for auction here on ebay. The potential is here in Spades. This car has some issues that will be described in the condition section below. I will be putting the best offer function up on Sunday, feel free to make a good one time offer if you are interested in this 914. I will sell this car to the highest offer prior to the end time on Tuesday. I have owned this 914 for roughly a year, and will tell you what I know of the history. The car had a early 1990's makeover, including black paint, 911SC rear trim piece, lower rocker trim, Appearance Group front spoiler, crome bumpers (which were blacked out), center console and seats. I believe the car was turbocharged prior to the makeover and it is a very rare 1974 Crown kit with the original documentation as shown. The car has it's original correct EA code engine. I was told from the prior owner that the engine displacement was increased to 2.0 liter when it was rebuilt with the Crown turbocharger. I don't have verification to prove this however. The Crown kit appears to have been professionally installed and includes a Bursch tuned exhaust. The car was converted to 5 lug 911 and from what I was told front 911 front suspension components were added. The rear has upgraded Bilstein gas shocks. Included are 5 period correct genuine 911 6x15j Fuch wheels. The 4 on the car would be correct for this 72 car if it were a true 914-6. They all are dated 7/71 except for the spare which is dated 73. The wheels are in amazing condition with no curb rash. These 5 wheels on their own would fetch $2500-$3000 I was told. It's riding on Pirelli P400 185 65's with less than 100 miles since mounted. The car had a turbotail spoiler on the back which is included but was removed at some point. Condition Mechanical: This car has been off the road for roughly 4 years. Prior to taking ownership, the former owner told me that the car died while idling at a stop light. He was able to restart it and get it home. Then he parked it in his driveway covered until I bought it last year. It was driven regularly until parked. The owner told me he was pretty sure it had an electrical gremlin that caused it but other than changing the fuel pump and a few relays didn't full sort it out parked it covered and stopped driving it. Upon taking ownership I replaced the spark plug wires, plugs and points, put new fuel injectors in it, changed the oil and filter, bought a good used fuel injector computer (2 will be included), put fresh gas in it and got it running and drove it short distances. I also replaced the ignition switch. I never fully sorted it out myself with my limited mechanical ability. I found that it would misfire and backfire and sometimes it would pull strong with the turbo others time it would stall and die. It idled fairly good the times I had it running. I am by no means a Porsche mechanic and this is as far as I got with it. I believe the fuel tank and lines need to be looked at and cleaned out fully and perhaps the valved adjusted. It's been sitting now for about 6 months and I never got back to it. My original plan was to remove the engine, sell the Crown kit (I was offered $1500 for it, probably worth $2000) and put in a Porsche 6 engine to make this a very nice 914-6. At any rate I got short on funds and have parked in my driveway covered since. I believe the wiring should be gone through, especially the fuel injection wiring and back relay board, I think that's where the problem may lie. The throttle cable end came off so it will need a new throttle cable or fixed on the back end. I also bought a bushing kit for the shifter front and back as the shifting was a bit sloppy. The clutch and gears appear fine. The brakes are working but should be renewed I imagine. Body: The cars outward appearance is fantastic! It sits beautifully and many people have commented how nice it is. It appears there was some rust repair done before it was repainted. The passenger side rear jack point needs to be addressed for rust repair. While the car was sitting for 3 years water was trapped on that side from below the battery box and it rusted through that side of the floor pan. I have shown it in the photos the best I can. From what I could tell the car was sitting on un level ground favoring that side and it attacked that side only from what I can tell. I have shown photos with the seats out. The floor pans otherwise appear to be in good shape. That jack point area will need to be fixed since it affects the rigidity of the passenger side seat floor pan. The car sits level to my eye. Looking under the car underside pan looks decent other than some surface rust. Other spots I can see slight rust are a passenger side rear corner of the trunk, a small spot on the front drivers side trunk area down near the spare tire, some bubbling paint areas on the rear trunk lid and small surface bubbles on the hood. The paint is in nice shape, there are blemishes here and there and you can see some slight variation in the paint where the rear whale tail was removed and subsequently painted over. The seats look pretty good. The interior was re carpeted in a black/blue motif that looks very tasteful. The center console has VDO gauges including a boost gauge from a 911 turbo. It has the original banjo steering wheel. The glass is all very good. This car could be considered a very unique, very nice project car with some rare parts. I believe a handy Porsche enthusiast could have this back on the road in no time, either with the original turbocharged engine or a six cylinder dropped in. The car will be sold as is with no guarantees. $1000 non refundable paypal deposit required within 48 hours. I have 4 original 1967 Porsche 912 chrome Lemmerz 15 x 5 1/2 wheels that I can include for $400. I am willing to ship the car worldwide, buyers will have to make all arrangements ahead of time and know what it entails before doing the buy it now. I am willing to store the car for up to 3 weeks, but full payment will need to be made within 5 days. Please be serious if you click on buy it now. It waists everyones time if you don't intend to follow through with the purchase. r>

We are please to offer this very clean and rust free 1971 Porsche 914 with a 2.4- 6 cylinder Porsche engine. This is an original California car. Engine # 6531910 We have just removed the engine, serviced and replaced seals where needed. The engine is now back in the car and ready to go! This is an exceptional conversion, the drive is fast and fun, the engine runs at normal operating temperature even when in heavy LA traffic. The transmission shifts smooth and correct with good syncros. The clutch is good, and the upgraded brakes stop the car on a dime. The A/C blows cold and works fine. This is a solid California car with NO rust issues. The engine is from a 1973 911 and has the cis injection system that works correctly. This car was converted several years ago from a 4 cylinder to 6 cylinder, with no expense spared. We have just serviced and safety checked this 914, so its ready to go! Only the best parts were used, the engine was rebuilt, the transmission rebuilt, 911 suspension was added, 5 lug hubs, working A/C unit, original 15 in Porsche wheels, and much much more. The body then received a high class paint job to its original Yellow color. There are NO signs of any accidents, this is a straight car. The interior is in good condition, the dash has 2 cracks, the carpets are in good condition. This 914 has had a professional restoration at a well known local Porsche repair shop, it is one of the best available. To view or test drive this Porsche or ask question, please call 805-929-4444.
