For sale is my 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber. It runs great, and gets attention everywhere I go. Everyone seems to have an old Maverick story, usually their high school girlfriend's mom drove one or something along those lines. This is an original Grabber, with the decorative hood scoops and vinyl trim, and with matching numbers on the VIN and factory original 302 V8. 4 speed toploader gearbox, hurst shifter. 1971 was the last year before they started gutting the engines for pollution control, and as an earlier Maverick still has the better-looking small bumpers. I'm told this is the original color, can't guarantee original paint. It looks great 20 feet away and pretty good up close. Body is straight, has no rust, car lived in Indiana until moving to S. Texas a year ago. Upholstery and headliner are newly re-done. Odo reads 70xxx, but there's no 100k digit so I dunno what it actually is. Car is located in Portland, TX. Four new tires Sept 2014. Grant steering wheel (Comes with original steering wheel too). Horn works. High-flow air filter (Comes with original air cleaner too) Outdoor car cover, fits pretty well. Car has been kept in garage since I bought it. New turn signal switch June 2014 New ignition coil June 2014 New brake master cylinder and four wheel cylinders and lines Oct 2014 (Drum brakes all around). Factory A/C installed but not connected. Will probably need R12 refill or R134 retrofit. Heater works well. New 3-point retractable seat belts from Wesco Performance. Transmission main bearings and synchros were replaced Nov 2014 using rebuild kit from David Kee. Shifts smoothly. Clutch grabs well. Pioneer stereo and speakers. AM/FM reception is great. Flowmaster mufflers. Sounds bad-ass! New champion 2-core radiator August 2015. New voltage regulator, new starter solenoid. New battery August 2015. All the headlights, brake lights, turn signals, factory "sport lights" work and are pretty bright. Looks like it used to have power steering but is not installed. Parking the car will give you big arm muscles. Easy to steer once you get moving. New fuel gauge sender May 2014. Gas gauge works! Engine gets a little oil under it, driving around town I add a 1/2 quart every few hundred miles. Gearbox oil was replaced Nov 2014. This car drives well, rides smooth, and starts conversations. 4th gear is pretty tall - it loves cruising at 70 mph on the highway. I frequently take it on 50-100 mile weekend trips, it always did great.

HI AND WELCOME TO MY AUCTION. THIS IS A CLASSIC MAVERICK THAT WAS IN A GARAGE FOR OVER 20 YEARS!NO CRACKS IN THE DASH, INSTRUMENT LENSES ARE NICE AND CLEAR. AFTER I PURCHASED IT, I HAD IT PUT ON A ROLLBACK (WOULDN'T START) AND TAKEN TO MY MECHANIC. HE HAD TO INSTALL A NEW CARB, FUEL PUMP, IGNITION COIL, PLUGS ETC. HE ALSO CHANGED OIL, FILTER. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD REALLY WELL NOW, STARTS RIGHT UP FIRST CRANK. RUNS, DRIVES AND RIDES GOOD. PAINT IS FADED ON DECK LID (MAY HAVE HAD A REPAINT AT SOME POINT). MY MECHANIC SAID IT IS VERY SOLID UNDERNEATH. ALL LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, WIPERS WORK. THE ONLY THING I KNOW ISN'T IS THE FUEL GAUGE, AND THE BLOWER FAN MAKES NOISE WHEN YOU TURN IT ON, BUT HEAT AND DEFROST WORK. DRIVERS SIDE SEAT IS SPLIT. NEEDS CARPET, COULD USE DOOR PANELS IF YOU WANT TO GET IT SHOW READY. I PURCHASED GRABBER CENTER CAPS AND BEAUTY RINGS WHICH ARE ON IT NOW, BUT I TOOK A PIC WITH THE ORIGINAL HUB CAPS ON IT (PASSENGER SIDE) SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AS WELL, THEY WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE SALE ALONG WITH THE GRABBER CAPS AND CENTERS. THE ORIGINAL BREATHER DOES COME WITH THE CAR, BUT I HAVE AN AFTER MARKET ON IT NOW BECAUSE SOMEONE DAMAGED THE BOTTOM OF IT AND DOES NOT FIT CORRECTLY. NOT A PERFECT CAR, WHICH IS WHY IT IS PRICED AT 4900. AS IS, WHERE IS. 500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS, TOTAL DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION END. WILL TRY TO POST MORE PICS LATER. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS!

This is a a 3 owner Granny(drove most of the mileage) driven 1972 Maverick. It was bought new (1st owner) and the lady gave it to her grandson (second owner) who drove it as well. He decided to sell (3rd owner-me) it after it started to have some overheating problems. It is a 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder. Very common engine. Automatic transmission, Power Steering, Air Conditioning car. It runs and drives, but it does overheat. Probably a head gasket, or cracked head. It has a very clean interior (looks to have been reupholstered recently). As you can see the car has a few bumps and scrapes most likely from years of granny driving. Overall it is a solid car. I traded on it as a resale piece for someone wanting to convert it to a V8 car. These (Short Bumper Cars) are getting very popular as performance cars for todays crowd. I have a clear title, and posted pics of the other paperwork supporting the story behind the car. If you are looking for a cheap fix or a resto-mod project, this is a very good chance to have one. I will answer questions daily and will consider all offers. Partial trade plus CASH may be possible.

The Mustang's low-key cousin actually looks pretty good dressed in black and white livery, and this 1976 Maverick represents the end of the line for Ford's mid-sized personal car. To be honest, we rarely see these anymore and for an entry-level hobby car, it represents a lot of fun for not a lot of cash. We really dig the two-tone combination on this Maverick, which gives it a more performance-oriented look with a more modern twist. The satin black sections are recent and replicate the "White Stallion" package that was available in '76. Bodywork is quite straight and we believe that the white sections of the car are wearing original paint, which suggests a car that hasn't been abused. There are a few signs of age in the white areas, but when the black was applied, they also included correct White Stallion decals on the front fenders, turning this into a car that's going to get a lot of questions. Of course, chrome bumpers were still in fashion in 1976, but otherwise there aren't many shiny bits on this car, which has a forward-looking appearance that works rather well. The neo-fastback roofline has aged well and the car makes the most of its curves with that two-tone paint job. The interior is definitely sport-oriented with bucket seats and a small console between them. The seating surfaces are in great condition, while the dash and door panels are showing their age. Two deep, round pods house the speedometer and fuel gauge, and if you've driven an early '70s Mustang, you'll feel right at home here. The three-spoke wheel has a White Stallion logo on the horn button and woodgrained appliques warm things up on the door panels. It's also equipped with factory A/C that blows ice cold as well as the factory AM radio down low just to the driver's right. The rear seat is in excellent condition and probably hasn't seen much use and the trunk is reasonably well-sized and shows no signs of body rot, which is critical on a Maverick. You also get a full-sized spare tire with jack assembly, just in case worse comes to worst. In the relatively lightweight Maverick, the 250 cubic inch inline-six is actually a decent performer. It's smooth and virtually indestructible, and if you want economical transportation, you could do a lot worse than this Maverick. It's obviously original under the hood, so it's a bit dirty and crusty, but all the factory components are in place, right down to the cold air intake tube for the big Ford Blue air cleaner. The carburetor has been recently rebuilt and they even installed an NOS exhaust system (don't get excited, NOS means "New-Old Stock") that includes a factory-style catalytic converter, muffler, and resonator so it has just the right 70s sound. More originality underneath, but no signs of body cancer in the important areas. The 3-speed automatic transmission feeds an 8-inch rear end with 2.79 gears inside, so the six is just loafing along at highway speeds, boosting fuel economy even more. Flashy Cragar wheels are a nice addition to this most sporting Mav, and they wear white-letter radials to complete the look. You rarely see Mavericks these days and I'll wager that very few of these special White Stallion cars still exist. Who says entry-level hobby cars have to be boring? I have the Marti Report. This is one of only 177 cars produced with this paint/trim code!! If you want a rarely seen, head turning, beautiful classic car, that you can just get in and go with no worries, then this is the car for you!! This is a practically totally rebuilt car that is ready to go show off. I have taken it to a few shows and have done really well with it. I paid $10,000.00 for this car after it was stripped and repainted, then put an additional $14,000.00 into on the interior, suspension and guts (engine transmission, etc) I have most all of the receipts to back up the work done. The ones I don't have were some jobs done for cash, and I can give you the phone numbers or take you to talk with the people who did that work. This awesome car was rescued from a barn in Tennessee in 2010 , where it had been stored for over 20 years. The gentleman who sold it was thinning out a variety of cars in the barn that had belonged to his father who had recently passed away. I have pics of the car the day it came out of the barn. The paint (original paint) was stripped down to the bare metal and there were 3 small quarter sized areas of rust. those were cut out and replaced with good metal. The car was repainted with PPG base coat/clear coat. A flattening agent was put ion the clear coat of the black to give it the original satin look like it came from directly from Ford. The great thing about this paint job is that it does have the clear coat, and so will last much longer than the original factory paint. I have the pictures that were taken during the entire stripping and repainting process. The engine and transmission were taken out and professionally rebuilt. Both were believed to be low mileage, as neither showed excessive wear. The engine has new pistons and rings bored thirty thousanths ,over. New rod and main bearing standard. Crank shaft only had to be polished. It has a new Elgin Prostock Cam (mild) and new Edelbrock manifold. It has a new oil pump and new Maverick Valve covers, and a new Holly 600 CFM Carb. The transmission has a new torque converter. New Radiator Core New A/C Compressor and A/C Dryer New Heater Core New Front Coil Springs and Spring Saddles New Tie Rod Ends All New Power Steering Lines and Hoses Rebuilt Power Steering Pump New Brakes Front and Rear New Front End Bearings and Bushings New Rear Axle Bearings and Seals New Fuel Tank and Sending Unit New Magnum 500 14x7 Rims and Center Caps New Turbo Mufflers and New Dual Exhaust New NOS Rear Bumper Cooper Cobra Tires purchased Oct. 2014 with barely 1000 miles on them New Carpet New Custom Recovered Seats New Retrosound Stereo with Bluetooth New Rear Speakers
