The tradition continues into 2003 the final chapter of the C5 era with the Commemorative Edition Corvette. This Corvette was produced to share all the Le Mans victories with Corvette enthusiasts. The 2003 Commemorative edition Z06 features a new carbon fiber hood and a graphic and color design that makes it look like the C5-R. Commemorative coupes and convertibles were also available in 2003. The Z06 has been improving drastically over the last couple years and that does not stop in 2003. There were two major performance upgrades to the Z06. One of the major upgrades is the lightweight race-inspired carbon fiber hood. The other is the revised chassis that allows for quicker turns and better overall handling. It took me 6 years to find one but when I did I sold my last 50th anniversary for it does not do justice to the special edition corvette that GM wanted to attribute to that special year. If you watch ebay you will see at least 1-2 50th Anniversary Special edition corvettes being sold every day but never a red on red. This car stands out as it should and as always with the prior year corvette red on red have. You can look and look and you will NOT find another red on red for the production numbers for this c-5 color combination were minimal. This car is loaded with all the bells and whistles, to include: dual climate control, 12-disc changer in the trunk, body side molding, Magnetic selective ride control, heads up display and the list goes on and on. I have added: Hurricane Air intake carbon fiber system, B+B exhaust, Disk brake covers and kick plate entra covers.
