This Alfa is a true driver's car. I am very sad to see it go, but I no longer have room for it. It has always been garage-kept. The gearbox is wonderful; no second gear grind. The free-flow Ansa exhaust system has added a nice amount of performance and sounds incredible. This is the Alfa I have held onto the longest since it has bucketloads more character than any others I have owned or driven. I have put around $10,000 into the car regarding the mechanics. Most of the work was done at Col-Gen Motors in New Jersey. I urge you to call them regarding the condition of this car. Here are some of the major things that have been done: Clutch realignmentEngine mounts replacedRadiator fan replacedNew racing manifoldFree-flow Ansa exhaust systemAir filter replacedIgnition replacedProtective engine cage replacedSteering was recalibratedNew electric window motorsRe-wired most electric components I have also installed a battery switch for when the car isn't being driven for a while. The seats are not torn at all, but have lost a bit of that plastic tube trim. The top has a few very tiny tears that have been filled with a silicone substance so it doesn't leak whatsoever. Things that could be addressed: - Passenger window motor needs a crank to get it started again. It has a brand new motor, but hasn't been used in months. - When using the low-beam headlights, the left one doesn't work, but it is best to use high beams only regardless unless you upgrade to brighter headlights altogether. - There are some small imperfections in the paint that are only noticeable up close. - The passenger side of the windshield has a faint mark from wiper. - Driver side speaker doesn't work. Please message me if you want any additional information or photographs! This car is to be sold as-is. Shipping not included.

I bought this car last year with the intent of doing a small but good restoration. The body, engine and trans r in good shape. I am more of an interior person than a mechanic so this car fit my needs. It is in really good mechanical condition and has no rust. Shifts as it should with no sync issue.I was doing very well working on it after work and weekends until I injured my knee. Dr says i need a knee replacement. Not gonna do that untill i have to. So the project came to a halt.I have OVER 4500.00 invested and as they say my loss is your gain. Needs the interior... new carpet and new leather on the seats... foam and seat r n good condition. Door panels also need replacing. The convertable top is in poor condition but could be repaired or used as a pattern to make a new one.I hate to sell it but I just cant get around like I used to. This will really make someone a cool little car. Not much else left to do. Not a basket case for sure!!!! Good Luck!!!!

Due to recent health issues, I'm going to have face reality and put my sweet running and driving Series 3 (S3) 1983 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce up for sale. I've owned this Spider now for about 4-1/2 years. It has been garaged for the past 3-1/2 years. Clear New Mexico Title in my name. Currently this car is partially apart to service the radiator, heater core, and to fix some light rust through in the front floors. I was also in the process of lightening the car, as it's the cheapest way to increase performance. Prior to lightening, I weighed the car on certified scales with a 1/2 tank of fuel for a reading of 2,460 pounds. S3 Spider are among the heaviest of all Spiders, some 200 pounds heavier than S2 Spiders. As of now, I have removed about 135 or so pounds of dead weight. Over the years I have done a lot of work on this Spider and will include a number of parts, including an extra gearbox, sheet metal and other items pulled from a 1974 Spider parts car that I once had. -This car is showing 209,897 miles. -This Spider has the original 2.0 liter double overhead cam all aluminum engine. The engine was rebuilt sometime in the past although I do not have any paperwork to show what was done. There is no oil burning, nor black smoke from a rich fuel mixture. Additionally, there are no unusual noises. All and all, it is a great running engine. -Removed and replaced all vacuum lines on the Bosch Jetronic fuel injection. This Bosch Jetronic FI is a very reliable system not to mention that it is very easy to work on. -Removed and replaced the OEM air intake plenum/manifold rubber hoses with new ones. -Removed the very restrictive OEM exhaust manifold and replaced it with the 2 piece factory cast iron headers off of the 1974 Spider parts car. The engine now revs so much easier than with the original 1 piece exhaust manifolds. The cast iron headers were then treated with Calyx manifold coating for a great silver/gray finish. -Removed the OEM exhaust system, including the catalytic convertor, and replaced it with the stock 1974 exhaust. There is slight leak at the forward expansion chamber. The rear section has an ANSA single tip fee-flow muffler. New exhaust hangers and bolts were installed at the same time. -Removed the single wire oxygen sensor and modified the '74 exhaust system for a new 3-wire heated O2 sensor. The car now runs cleaner now, plus the engine warms up faster than with the original single-wire O2 sensor. -Installed a new air filter. -Replaced the short plastic intake hose that goes across the top of the engine. -Removed the complete rear suspension, replacing the T-bar/trunnion with the one off of the 1974 parts car as it had better bushings. Replaced the T-bar bushing at the differential with a new poly bushing. Removed the U.S. spec springs and replaced them with the 1974 springs which lowered the car to the original design height, or about an inch. The rear end now no longer clunks on turns, which was caused by the axle moving sideways due to the bad OEM T-bar bushings. -Removed the front springs and replaced them with the lower '74 Spider springs. -Removed the complete A/C system as it was never hooked up after the engine rebuild. The car is now about 58 pounds lighter. I will include the A/C system with the sale. -Removed the sump guard saving 11 pounds. I will include it with the sale. -Removed the heavy factory electric flag mirrors and replaced the driver's side with a new lighter Vitaloni "California" aerodynamic mirror as used by Ferrari F1 cars (312) in the early Seventies, and later on Ferrari road cars. Very period correct! -Removed slow electric window lifts and replaced them with manual regulators. -Removed the grungy OEM beige carpeting saving about 16 pounds. I've also scraped off all of the heavy rubberized coating on the floors which was hiding some light surface rust. Who knows how many pounds were saved by doing this. -Removed and replaced the old motor mounts for new ones. -Repaired the exterior doors handles which were not working when I purchased the car. -Removed the original Cromodora "Daytona Star" wheels which the previous owner painted black, and replaced them with light weight Cromodora "Turbina" wheels, which have the 1960s Italian show car look. Both the Turbinas and Daytona Star wheels are made of super light magnesium, each weighing about 16 pounds. -Replaced the rubber fuel filler hose. Additionally, I replaced all rubber fuel/vacuum lines located in the trunk area. -The previous owner had the two Bosch flywheel sensors, the fuel pump and fuel filter changed with new ones. I've installed some new fuel lines under the car, although there is 2 more that still need to be done. -The previous owner also installed a set of new Pirelli P4 tires. -Seats were re-upholstered with beige vinyl some time in the past. They are in excellent condition. -Rubbed out the Alfa Red paint. It still could use some rubbing and polishing, but looks so much better than when I first got the car. THIS ALFA WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: -Rust repair in the front floors. Although I believe that this Spider has been in New Mexico its entire life, at one point the rubber floor plugs came undone allowing water to get under the carpeting causing the rust through. The rust really isn't that bad and can be fixed with a $100 floor panel from Wolf Steel out of Canada. Since the entire floor panel doesn't have to be used, the rest can be used to fix the rust through on the passenger's side front floor. -There is some rust-through in the spare tire well. I am including a rust-free spare tire well out of the part car. -The gearbox has the typical Alfa 2nd gear crunch. If you double-clutch while up shifting from 1st to second, and when down shifting from 2nd to 1st you won'd hear any gear crunch. Some of the bearing are noisy and the gearbox does leak fluid. Included will be the gearbox out of the '74 parts Spider which should bolt right on. The '74 gearbox has about 85,654 miles on it, so I would advise that it be opened up and inspected. The driveshaft rubber giubo should be replaced at the same time, along with a driveshaft rebuild as a precaution, and of course, it wouldn't hurt to replace the trans rubber mount. -The rear main seal leaks, so on uphill grades, the clutch sometimes slips. -The engine being all aluminum does leak some oil, so it should be re-sealed. -Because of the rear main oil seal leak, the clutch should also eventually be replaced. -Both the radiator and heater core will need to be refurbished. A new heater control valve is also needed. -The factory top was replaced sometime in the past with a vinyl top. There is a slight tear on the clear vinyl near the edge going into the black vinyl. This probably can be temporarily repaired with tent repair tape. I am also including an extra top frame. -A new battery will be needed. I'm including a core battery with the sale. THE SALE INCLUDES: -Shop and owner's manual. -An almost perfect black instrument panel. -New Old Stock (NOS ) black console. -Black console side panels. -Black kick panels. -Many extra parts off of the 1974 Alfa Spider parts car. -Some sheet metal off of the parts car including a spare tire well pan, partial front nose cone, an extra hood, and the front headlight surround sheet metal which is slightly different on the '74 Spider, allowing you to install Carello headlight covers. -Hardware to mount the Carello headlight covers. -All parts removed to save weight including the complete A/C system, the mirrors, etc. -The original Cromodora Daytona star wheels. -A rare "Pininfarina" radio block-off/radio delete panel. There is no radio or speakers that go with this car. Not having a radio or speakers saved about 24 pounds. -New manual window regulators and winder handles to replace the OEM electric lifts, which are quite slow, and need some coaxing to go up fully. -Plastic inner door caps. The OEM ones were cracked and I sourced out some really nice ones. -New plywood to fab up some new door cards. -New radiator hoses, and the mold heater hose. -A new idle "O" ring. The idle jumped up to 1,500 RPM after I installed the new O2 sensor, so it will need to be adjusted down about 500 RPM. -New alternator/water pump belt. -A stack of receipts showing purchases along with some from a previous owner. -Probably a bunch of stuff that I have forgotten about. This car is located in The City of Santa Fe, New Mexico. It has a clear New Mexico Title in my name. Currently, this vehicle will need to be towed. --Winning bidder is to pay Deposit via PayPal in the amount of $500 within 48 hours of auction end. Balance in cash (U.S. Dollars) due at time of vehicle pick up. If winning bidder is to have the vehicle shipped, balance of payment must be made prior vehicle being released for shipping with a Cashier's Check (certified from US or Canadian bank). For sale is my 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. It is a Series 2 Spider representing the first update from the Series 1 “Osso di Sepia” model with rounded rear end. The Series 2 model introduced the Kamm tail and is viewed by many as the most attractive of the four series of Spiders. This is a rare example of a rebuilt Series 2 Spider. The car is finished in red paint, with fully restored black vinyl interior (seats, door trims, carpets, etc). It has a roll-bar fitted for safety and has the original equipment alloy wheels. The engine is the 2000cc version of the classic Alfa Romeo twin-cam engine, fitted with Spica mechanical fuel injection. I bought the car from its previous owner in California in April 2010. He had had the car re-built and restored at a cost of over $15,000 by an Alfa Romeo specialist in Orange County. Engine and suspension were completely rebuilt, and electronic ignition was fitted . The car was repainted, and new trim installed (seats, door panels, side panels and carpet). New rubbers and moldings were fitted and a new convertible top was installed. The car showed 20,376 miles when it arrived in Tennessee. I have used the car very little since I bought it, as my heavy travel schedule has taken precedence. Please note that I am not able to guarantee the current odometer reading of 20,500, as I cannot guarantee that the reading on the car when I received it was accurate. I have replaced the heavy black US-spec front and rear bumpers with the earlier chrome versions plus a chrome grille. These items were obtained new from Italian Auto Parts in Atlanta in 2011 at a cost of $2,400. Oil and filters have been changed on a regular basis. I am now re-locating to the North West of England and, while I would like to take the car with me, a convertible left-hand drive sports car is not a practical proposition for use in that area - where driving is on the left, and there is much rain throughout the year and salted roads in the winter. I am therefore selling the car with an asking price of $12,500. The car is in excellent condition as can be seen from the photographs. It runs well, and all electrics work as they should, and the tires are good. It would benefit from a tune-up as its usage has been so light over the last few years. The car comes with an indoor dust cover and extensive documentation - rebuild and service notes, handbook, guide books, and a DVD (from the Alfa Romeo Oner’s Club) containing manuals, parts list, etc. Negatives? The car has a few small paint chips, the spare wheel is not reconditioned, and one of the door mirrors has some marks. That’s about all I can think of. Please let me know if you would like any further information on the car.

I am selling a recently restored 1979 Alfa Romeo Veloce Spider. It is powered with completely overhauled 2000 cc engine, with two double chamber Weber carburetors. The car has been restored to manufacturer's specifications. It is a low mileage car, upgraded with multiple safety features (Koni shock absorbers, roll bar, premium brake rotors). Premium features include Alfa style, period correct alloy wheels, Alpine radio/CD, Polk speakers, Alpine power amplifier, additional cooling water thermostat and pump, water temperature indicator gauge, and oil pressure gauge (see the added panel to the right of the steering wheel on the dashboard pictures). All original papers come with the car. I have also complete documentation of restoration, proving $7600 invested in the car. With the skyrocketing prices for those cars, this is probably the best car you can get below $10k. Considering its condition and money invested in its restoration and extra features, its market value is estimated at $13-15k.
