The headliner was removed and will need to be replaced. Some of the bows are bent or missing for the headliner. The a/c belt has been removed, the a/c pump may need charged or replaced. The front drivers side panel has been dented, which could be fixed or replaced. Cruise control is present but does not work. The engine is the 307 Olds V8, runs on gasoline and will run forever. The am/fm radio is present, and will only pick up am radio stations because the power antenna needs fixed or replaced. I bought this Olds Delta 88 Royale in September 2002 (registered at DMV, Wethersfield, CT, on October 4, 2002) from the original family owner. The car was in storage for about eight years (garaged) prior to the purchase. At the time of the inspection and test drive I noticed that the alternator was a little noisy (replaced after the purchase), also that while backing up the car had some hesitations (due to a faulty relay in the transmission that was completely rebuilt after the purchase). The original owner (non smoker, an elderly gentleman) was the only driver of this car (before he passed away in 1994). I am the second owner and only driver of this car since the purchase (also non smoker). I bought this car uniquely as spare or emergency car to my 1987 Chevy Caprice Classic (that is being used for daily driving), also because I liked it very much and it was very well maintained overall. The car was always parked under my double carport and properly maintained all the time. There were no scratches, dings, dents, rusty spots on the car at the time of the purchase, nor at present time. The mileage at the time of the car registration was 90,340 miles. Presently, the car has 99,000 miles. The car was only driven occasionally (mostly on highway) with less than 9,000 miles added in 12 years. No power windows, no power doors.All lights, radio, rear defroster, horn, signals, brake lights, backup lights are working.The car has been always kept outside under my large double carport with very little interaction - if any - with the rain and snow. HIGHLIGHTS / WORK DONE: - alternator and belts replaced - transmission completely rebuilt - ceiling upholstery replaced - brakes line replaced entirely - brakes replaced - radiator replaced - newer complete exhaust system - minor body work and full paint job performed in February 2009- new starter replaced recently- new distributor cap and brush replaced recently- all 8 spark plugs and 8 wires replaced recently- new battery (replaced recently) - other works done (all receipts - saved in the gloves' compartment - will be provided to buyer) - the car comes with all paperwork (owner's manual, other) provided by factory and all decals affixed on the bodySPECIAL REMARKS:- recently the engine started to display some honking and grinding noise coming from underneath. After extensive investigative work and troubleshooting, the garage told me that the honking is coming from the lifters (as some of them got stuck and no longer work properly) and the grinding noise is due to the lack of enough oil pressure inside the engine as tested. - the garage suggested me to have the engine replaced with a rebuilt one - cost involved for the new engine itself being in the range of $1,700-$1,800 (exclusive shipping cost). Labor extra. This job can be done by a professional mechanic who could rebuild the engine himself or save money for the removal of the existent engine and installation of a rebuilt one.- the car is being offered for sale as is for such project - although still running. The asking price reflects this.- selling since I don't have the necessary funds for labor and rebuilt engine and other associated costs in order to salvage the car and enjoy it. With a new engine (usually guaranteed for 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first) the car will start its new life like new with no troubles for many years to come.- it is unknown the exact reason why the engine recently failed to display the two issues stated above - possibly since the car was driven only occasionally and / or because of the cold / freezing weather we had in the area last winter. It has the 2.5L 4cylinder engine which is a good motor that puts out a good amount of power. However The motor in this car has a rod knocking or a lifter making noise. Check out the video I start it up so you can hear it. The car will move around but the motor is going to need to be fixed or replaced. I do not drive it it was just ran to show you. It has the 5-Speed manual transmission which is what you want in one of these. This car is a 1 Owner Car that has just over 100K Original Miles on it. These cars are a blast to drive. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars.Look at the Autocheck Score. Make sure and check out the Video below. This is a nice, clean car that has a couple issues. It has the 2.5L 4cylinder engine which is a good motor that puts out a good amount of power. However The motor in this car has a rod knocking or a lifter making noise. Check out the video I start it up so you can hear it. The car will move around but the motor is going to need to be fixed or replaced. I do not drive it it was just ran to show you. It has the 5-Speed manual transmission which is what you want in one of these. This car is a 1 Owner Car that has just over 100K Original Miles on it. These cars are a blast to drive. Under the hood and under carriage are clean and dry as can be. Make sure to check the video I do a complete walk around of the car inside and out.
