The Free Wheelin Edition Trucks came out in 1977-1979 in 5 Colors the black was the most desirable. I bought this truck in March of this year with every intention of putting it back to its original glory. I have not had the Chance to do so due to a Heavy work schedule, that was suppose to slow down in April but hasn't yet. So I decided to let someone else get use out of it. There is rust in the usual place's (Nothing that can not be patched).The floor pans seem solid, motor turns over but does not fire. The guy I bought it from said he thought it was the brain, if so that is a cheap and easy fix. It has all the original interior, which is very hard to find. The transmission I was told was recently rebuilt C-6Trans. It is a good project worth doing for someone who has the time. The Vin indicates it has 4:10 Gears front and Rear it was a dealer optional Ac truck. I have the Compressor for it. Please ask any questions I will answer them asap. there is a few dings and some rust as I mentioned before. Negative: Gears in the front dont match the rear, paintjob is a little foggy in some spots and minor rust on doors.There is 85.000 miles on the truck, less than 500 miles on new motor. 1979 Ford F-150 with 302 c4 auto trans 2wd. We have bought another truck and are now selling our shop truck. Old truck in fair condition has the normal rust. Interior is in good shape. Truck does run and drive. Engine has some lifter tap. Has 79,000 on odometer but sure that it has tripped before. The front rotors, calipers, pads, and also the master cylinder were replaced last year. We have used it all the way up until July. Now sitting at our shop. This listing is for a 1979 Ford Ranger F-150, single cab, long bed, 2WD,315/400M engine. Brand new tires (Bought in July), on chrome wheels. The interior is in very good shape, roof liner has all moldings, seats are intact except for small tears in the vinyl on the tops nearest the rear window. The exterior is solid, original paint, has chipping here and there but there is no major rust, minor surface rust. The bed of this truck has surface rust, but no holes or pits. Has one minor dent on the passenger side on the bed. The exhaust is dual side exit, sounds nice, has with headers. Has cargo and engine compartment lights. I did not build the motor but it definitely has an after market cam in it. The AC turns on but the blower motor is weak. The truck is optioned with cruise control but it does not work, all parts are there if someone wants to fix it. It has a brand new battery and a brand new starter motor. It runs and drives, no engine noise but it does have an exhaust leak. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Truck sold as is. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Truck is listed locally so this auction may be terminated in case of local sale. Odometer says around 60000 miles but I don't think that is correct.

Here is a great opportunity investment. These Short Box 4x4's are getting more difficult to find. Exterior: On a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best, I would rate the trucks exterior a 7. While the truck shows nicely in it's original Light Medium Blue, the paint is fading on the hood, there is a dent and scratch at the top of the passenger side bed, and there is some rust in the rear bed corners. I found replacements at www.lmctruck.com for 29.95 each plus shipping. There is also some rust in the bed floor near the tailgate and bed floor near the cab (see pictures) Floor boards and lower rockers are all in excellent condition. Interior: On a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best, I would rate the trucks interior a 7. While the interior is extremely clean the seat will need to be recovered, while the seat still holds it's original material it is cracking, coming apart at the pleats and seams. Dash has a couple of cracks as well. All guages work, horn, tilt steering, trailer brakes, and wiper delay. All lights work except drivers front parking light and passenger rear back up light. Will need new sockets for this. Mechanics: On a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best, I would rate the trucks mechanics a 9. This truck runs, drives, and performs out awesome and sounds very healthy. 1979 f150 4wd ranger . total frame off restoration/build. All original ford metal ( from 5 trucks). Except new bed floor ( from LMC ). Cab was entirely sandblasted. The doors were chemically dipped to remove all seam sealer etc. Burlwood interior, tilt wheel, power steering, factory am FM radio. The engine is a 71 block 460, with dove c heads. Mallory distributor and coil with ballast resistor. Fender well headers. 4 inch body lift. 3 inch suspension lift. Tires are almost new 38.5 x15 super swampers. Truck is not perfect. All repairs needed are relatively minor. Runs excellent. Sounds even better ! $25,000 cash obo. May consider mopar muscle trade. Buyer handles shipping. No warranty expressed or implied. My dad bought this truck in 1982 with a 400ci motor (current 460ci). The cab was painted around 1989. the current motor was rebuilt in 2000 by a local engine builder and driven about 200 miles.(truck body is around 123000). The thing would really haul #@%$. It was then place into a barn until now (so its been setting awhile) . I drained gas and put in new fuel.(gas gauge in currently not working and not sure of the condition of gas tank) . engine is running great after I had the carb rebuilt .I put on HEI ignition, needs exhaust (running out of 2 cherry bombs off the headers) . I got all brakes working (2 new wheel cylinders in back and 1 new caliper in front ...pads and shoes about 75% good). Front floors need replaced and I have new pans for it to replace.The bed has rust around wheel openings.It has a hitch that is welded on type (that's why I haven't dropped gas tank yet). air conditioner compressor turns on when activated but not seeing cold air.Tires are from the 90's . This listing is for a 1979 Ford Ranger F-150, single cab, long bed, 2WD,315/400M engine. Brand new tires (Bought in July), on chrome wheels. The interior is in very good shape, roof liner has all moldings, seats are intact except for small tears in the vinyl on the tops nearest the rear window. The exterior is solid, original paint, has chipping here and there but there is no major rust, minor surface rust. The bed of this truck has surface rust, but no holes or pits. Has one minor dent on the passenger side on the bed. The exhaust is dual side exit, sounds nice, has with headers. Has cargo and engine compartment lights. I did not build the motor but it definitely has an after market cam in it. The AC turns on but the blower motor is weak. The truck is optioned with cruise control but it does not work, all parts are there if someone wants to fix it. It has a brand new battery and a brand new starter motor. It runs and drives, no engine noise but it does have an exhaust leak. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Truck sold as is. Buyer is responsible for shipping. wifes fully restored 1978-79 F150 caught fire... so now its for sale. some of the things that have been done to it prior to the fire.... rebuilt 351 enging with some clean up and new parts will still run. M/T wheels and truxus mud terrain tires still have really good tread and no dammage. front and rear axles are still good along with the transfer case, 4 wheel disk brakes. will need a cab and hood, the rest of the sheet metal is still in good shape. will attach pics of before and after. Serious inquires only please. and make an offer for the entire truck. I will not be giving it away and do not want to just sell the wheels and tires.I have alot invested into it and my personal value will be high for what it is. It can be rebuilt and i would love to be able to see it one day being driven, this is to pretty of a truck to scrap, I just dont have the time to get her back into shape. I know at this and think that the price is too high, but i have 24000 invested, it was worth 18000 when it went up, 5000 will get her back on the road looking the way she did, 5000 plus 5000 is only 10k and will be back at a 18k value.
