Classic Car Marketing, Inc. Southern Californias premier marketing company is pleased to introduce this new listing offered for sale by one of our clients. This 1946 Rare Blue Dodge Power Wagon is a go anywhere, do anything classic, and boy will you look good doing it. 1946 would be the first production year for the civilian 4x4 for Dodge. The body would have very little changes up until 1977 when the production run would end. This Power Wagon has been meticulously restored to its original condition with the exception of some bigger tires. The name Power Wagon remains a controversy as to its beginnings. One story has the name coming from a popular trucking magazine of the 1940s, while another story derives the name from the trucks ability to provide power to remote locations from its PTO- power-take-off unit. Powered by the trucks engine, the PTO operates a 10,000 pound winch, making it difficult for the truck to be left stuck anywhere! Originally built in the Los Angeles plant this particular truck still has its original drive train which consist of 8 forward and 2 reverse speeds and a final gear ratio of 5:83. With the two speed transfer case in low range, the truck has a fourth gear top speed of 27 miles per hour. Having such a wide range of gears and a one ton rating, the 94 HP 230 cubic inch flathead six is able to pull or carry just about anything. Offered at the fraction of the restoration cost this vehicle is considered to be one of the finest vehicles of its kind in existence today $64,500 OBO. Our client has also had a custom enclosed trailer built for this brute and is available at an additional cost.
