This 1968 Chevy C10 pickup is sleek and powerful thanks to a thumping stroker motor, making it a very cool and very affordable cruiser that can be enjoyed as-is or serve as the foundation for something truly spectacular. There\'s a ton of trick bodywork on this truck and it\'s so well done that you almost need a stock one next to it to see every mod. The obvious things are the shaved door handles and trim, the molded-in grille and bumpers, as well as the trick antenna tucked into the cab corner on the passenger\'s side. Together with the light blue paint, it has a very clean look with a minimum of frills that\'s very appealing. The paint is excellent yet might be starting to show its age, but it still looks nice enough to hit the local cruise nights. On the other hand, it\'s also a great place to start if you want to create something wild. Either way, the bodywork is quite good and looks awesome from any angle, a testament to the work being nicely done. The bed is equally well finished and it\'s clear that someone invested time wisely in there, because it\'s in great shape, erasing the years of manual labor that came before. You\'ll also note that the fuel filler is now in the bed, allowing a smooth, unbroken line from nose to tail. The interior is less radical than the bodywork, giving it a functional, no-nonsense look that\'s either just the way you like it or another blank canvas upon which to build. You will, however, dig the custom dash pad that has the look of a custom build, but the rest is pretty much OEM Chevy pickup. The bench seat is freshly covered in black vinyl, as original, and the floors wear durable coverings that are appropriate to a working-class vehicle. The original gauges are bright and clear, albeit minimalist, and the steering wheel is the same one that was issued back when LBJ was president. There\'s an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash, which powers speakers cleverly hidden under the dash, so entertainment is not an issue here, and some will find the no-nonsense look of the interior quite appealing. Tinted windows all around also add a sense of menace to the light blue truck that makes sense the moment you turn the key. That burly 383 cubic inch small block sparks to life like it\'s hungry and idles with the burbling sound you\'ve admired in much more serious performance hardware. The engine is obviously where a lot of time and money went, and from the Edelbrock air cleaner to the monochromatic block with custom aluminum valve covers, it looks nasty. Edelbrock also supplied the intake and carburetor, with an MSD ignition system lighting the fires. It makes an estimated 425 horsepower, and certainly feels the part when you crack the throttle and the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission drops down a gear and the truck leaps forward like it was strapped to a JATO rocket. Long-tube headers and a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system sound truly spectacular and with 3.73 gears on a Posi, it launches hard. Aluminum wheels help with the stance and wear fat 295/50/15 Dunlop radials all around. This truck is only subtle until you open the throttle, and then it becomes a different animal entirely. Leave it as-is and have fun, or build the wildest C10 on the road, this is one heck of a lot of truck for not a lot of cash. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. There\'s an awful lot to love in this 1968 Chevy C10 pickup. Great color combination, big block power, perfect stance, and a leather-lined interior that really pops against the black paint. If you\'ve been searching for a do-it-all weekend warrior, this truck should be your leading candidate. It\'s safe to say that these trucks are insanely popular. They never last long on the showroom floor, and if you\'ve even been to a show, you know that they\'re starting to show up in ever larger numbers. However, when this black stepside rolls in, people stop and notice. Perhaps it\'s the threatening rumble of the big block, but it\'s also likely to be the impressive black paint job that coats one of the best-looking pickups ever built. The regular cab/stepside bed combination has a muscular look thanks to those rounded fenders, and painting it black means that no shortcuts were taken in the build. It fits together quite well overall, and with a bit of warmth coming from the fresh wood bed, it\'s classically elegant as well as brutally handsome. A few chrome trim pieces highlight the interesting areas of the truck, from the square-jawed front end to the tubular bed rails that really dress it up. Admit it: you love the way this truck looks. I know I do. The red interior is leather, not vinyl, and that makes a big difference when you climb inside. The original bench is gone, replaced by a trick setup that looks like a pair of buckets, but still offers three-across seating, as GM intended. The gauges and bezel around them are newly installed, and when your dials look as good as the stock ones in this truck, there\'s no need for aftermarket stuff. Everything is new, including the carpets, door panels, and dash pad, and aside from some very minor signs of use, it looks extremely fresh. Under-dash A/C keeps things cool without straining the big block, but for cooler days there\'s a sliding rear window for draft-free ventilation. An AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash offers entertainment options, but once you grab that fat wood-rimmed wheel and B%26amp;M shifter, well, your mind won\'t be on the music. The reason is simple: 454 cubic inches of big block thunder. With an aluminum high-rise intake and a big Holley 4-barrel carb, throttle response is instantaneous and if you\'re not careful, you\'ll turn those 20-inch rear tires into expensive tire smoke without even trying. It appears to be a GM crate motor based on the late-model valve covers, but they took the time to give it a proper coat of Chevy Orange engine enamel before dropping it into place. Long-tube headers and a throaty Flowmaster exhaust system sound awesome with the tips right behind the rear wheels. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission shifts without hesitation the moment your foot hits the carpet and the 12-bolt rear end means that durability won\'t be an issue. The chassis still looks great following the frame-off build, showing a few signs of use, but they\'re easy to forgive when everything is in such good order. Even those shiny American Racing wheels look fresh and wear 245/45/18 front and 275/40/20 rear performance radials. This is one of those trucks that looks so good most folks wouldn\'t care what lived under the hood. Fortunately, this big block needs no excuses and drives every bit as well. Call today!
