This is the true classic Ford enthusiast’s car, the previous owner even kept the original registration cards from the sixties! Finished in a dramatic, rich and code correct Rangoon Red over an exceptional black interior, this very special Fairlane shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The Fairlane name was moved to Ford’s new intermediate, introduced for the 1962 model year, to bridge the gap between the compact Ford Falcon and the full-sized Galaxie. Like the Falcon, the Fairlane had a unibody frame, but the body incorporated an unusual feature Ford dubbed ‘torque boxes’, four boxed structures in the lower body structure designed to absorb road shock by moving slightly in the vertical plane. Suspension was a conventional short-long arm independent arrangement in front with Hotchkiss drive in the rear.
