For your consideration I have a 1963 Impala SS Nostalgia Drag Racer for sale The Impala underwent a frame on restoration several years ago and still presents very well. It is not a show car, but it is a show winner. The last two car shows that it was entered in was the Goodguys Nashville Nationals were it won the "Period Perfect Award" and also at the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. KY where it was selected as a top 50 winner. The 327/ 300hp engine was rebuilt approximately 4000 miles ago. The period correct intake and dual carbs were just added. All the recent modifications include: -1956-1961 Corvette Dual Quad Intake with matching WCFB carburetors that were professionally rebuilt. This intake could have also been found on 1957 passenger cars as well. -Freshly Rebuilt BW T-10 4 Speed Transmission -Completely rebuilt front end with original style parts (Included 409 springs for added lift). -Rebuilt 3. 70 non posi rear end. (A Correct 4. 56 "P" Casing posi rear is available. but is not included in this sale). -Front and rear bumpers with period correct tow brackets mounted to the front of the frame. -Aircraft Grade Aluminum Spacers added to the hood to allow it to notch upward. (This was commonly done in the 60's for added airflow). -Items deleted included: Heater. radio/antenna. wipers and wiper motor and the power brakes. The power steering still remains intact. (All of the above parts that were removed are included in the sale). -The front runners are NOS 7.60 x 15 Goodyear Silvertown Bias Ply tires and the rear tires are new 8" Towel City Pie Crust Cheater Slicks. -The chrome reverse wheels are recent additions and are from Wheel Vintiques. The rear wheels are custom with a 2. 5 backspacing to allow them to slide neatly under the rear fenders with zero rubbing. This Impala SS was in stock appearance when the transformation began and all of the changes made to the car can be easily reverted back to original or to your liking. All of the lettering and decals are vinyl and can be removed by hand. The car has been driven locally to cruise ins and car shows and has been set up to drive and enjoy. It has never been raced competitively. but it could be raced at nostalgia events and is meant to be a faithful tribute to drag cars of the era. For buyers and collectors with inquiring minds the Trim Tag shows that the car was born the 3rd week of December 1962(12C) at the St. Louis Production Plant. The original Interior Code(858) Saddle Vinyl Bucket Seats(Imp SS Coupe) and Exterior Trim Code(932) Saddle Tan. In the past the interior was updated to Black Vinyl and the exterior to white. The VIN decodes the car as a V8. but there is no added paperwork to show what size V8 it was born with. Please note as stated above this is not a show car and is what i would consider driver quality. With that said it is very good condition and presents nicely. I am glad to answer any questions or speak to any concerns. It has a Big Block 396 V8 with a highrise Edelbrock intake manifold with a 750 CFM Edelbrock 4 barrell carburetor. The Impala has HEI with fresh wire wires, rotor, cap, plugs. The motor was detailed and dressed up out of the car and reinstalled. A 2 Speed powerglide is mated to the Big Block 396. The transmission is rebuilt. The car has glass pack duel exhaust coming out before the rear wheels. The starter, alternator and battery is new. The hoses and belts are new. The car starts with ease and sounds great. Can hear it a block away when it comes down the street. The lights are updated with a bulb setup instead of the sealed beams. The car was painted in base clear with Seafoam Green with an Ermine White top. The car is straight and rust free as it is a California car which we brought up from Central Oregon. Here is my 1964 Impala SS that I have been working on here and there for the last 3 years or so. I initially picked the car up from a retired fire fighter in Chicago area who was ill and could no longer enjoy the car. After getting it home I drove her once and began removing all the fenders, doors and trunk lid and suspension. Every nut and bolt has been replaced with new, along with all of the body bushings. The belly of the car (inside & out) and frame have been coated with POR-15, and then recoated with a gloss coating. The body is painted medium aqua metallic and the top is a Cadillac pearl white tri coat. The front grill has been hand polished, and the eyebrows, hood lip and lower molding has been replaced with new. The rear trim is original, besides the cove trims I replaced due to them being dinged. Headlight rings have been polished, rear tail light chrome replaced. Bumpers are original and in nice shape.Suspension: All of the suspension is either chrome or painted. the front upper and lower control arms are triple plated, along with the front coil springs, tie rods, spindles steering knuckles, rear trailing arms, center link & idler and pitman arms. All of the bushings are new energy suspension bushings.. Steering has been upgraded to a solid jeep shaft to eliminate the use of the old non responsive rag joints, and is hooked to a CPP 500 steering box with a sport ratio.Interior: I replaced the front seat covers and foam a few months ago. The rear seat is original, but in good condition. The entire tub of the car has been coated in por-15 and then sealed with Fatmat sound deadening material all the way up to the door glass. All of the interior trim has been polished and looks great. All (5) of the interior lights work as they should. Custom kick panels and door panels that house (6) Pioneer 3 way speakers. The rear package tray has been recovered and houses (4) Pioneer 6x9 3 ways that match the door and kick panel components. Rear water fall trim has had the grain smoothed out and chromed, along with the center speaker trim in the seat. The interior is very nice, please see the pictures and video. The speedo cluster has been swapped to a Dakota Digital, and the column is a chrome tilt that was moved forward 2 inches for extra room. The stock ones always felt too close to me. Trunk is custom and houses (2) 12" Rockford subwoofers and a Rockford amp setup under plexiglass with L.E.D's. American Auto wire update kit is installed, every wire in the car is brand new and replaced.Drivetrain: I replaced the sbc motor with a ls motor equipped with Vette heads, cam and intake. Chrome headers with o2 bungs, all new coils, plug wires, black an6 fuel line etc. Transmission is a 4l65e with shiftworks shifter linkage hooked to the original shifter. Front belt system is from Dirty Dingo, and water pump, gaskets, Melling oil pump are all new. Drive shaft has the CPP HD aluminum carrier bearing, with slip yoke at the rear end. Rear end is a Versailles with all new gaskets. Car is equipped with 4 wheel disc brakes attached to a hydroboost system out of an 05 Silverado 2500. CPP show chrome master with built in proportioning valve, all new brake lines etc. Engine harness and computer is from PSIconversions out of NJ. Pedal and tac module are hidden behind the dash. Engine bay wires have been tucked for the clean low visibility look. New gas tank, Walbro fuel pump and 60 psi Vette filter/regulator. New 2.5" dual exhaust installed less than a week ago from the headers back, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
