This 1953 International is the kind of truck that\'ll have people doing double-takes all day. One, most folks have probably never seen one, and two, it manages to keep its trucky personality while getting a nice dose of comfort and convenience features, not to mention a great-running Chevy V8. International gave their trucks a distinctive look that fans will recognize instantly. The low, wide grille would endure for almost two decades, setting these trucks apart from their more common competitors. International Harvesters were built as tools, but someone found the beauty in the design and covered it in burgundy metallic paint that makes it look far more upscale than its original price tag would indicate. Most of the trim was painted to match the body, including the grille and bumpers, but almost all the original components are still in place, right down to the cool release handles on either side of the unusual lift-off hood. The dramatic wood bed features a built-in tool box that hides a fuel cell inside, plus a matching tailgate with a big International emblem on it, leaving no doubt as to what kind of pickup this is. Other trick details include the split rear window, a rear roll pan, and tri-bar fog lamps up front, just ahead of the mesh grille. There\'s not a lot of bright trim, but the stuff it carries, like the IH emblem on the grille, the side mirrors, running board step plates, and the door handles are all in surprisingly good shape after all these years. No factory International Harvester in history was as comfortable and luxurious as the cab in this awesome pickup. With a pair of handsome gray buckets from a late-model, a fabricated center console, and carpets on the floors, it\'s plush and quiet instead of crude and workmanlike as it was originally. The original dash and steering wheel are in place, and that long shifter lever was probably part of the package when it was new, but is now cleverly adapted to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. White-faced Auto Meter gauges are set into a genuine wood instrument panel that matches the bed, and there are custom enclosures under the dash for both the Vintage Air A/C system and the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. A custom center console features a padded arm rest and a pair of cup holders, and getting behind the wheel of this truck actually feels quite modern, not ancient. Lift off the hood and you\'ll find a nicely-dressed 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 for motive power. Nothing exotic, just reliable horsepower that\'s easy to service and with plentiful parts everywhere you go. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake live up top, along with chrome valve covers and air cleaner, plus a big aluminum radiator up front. A custom front clip from Fatman Fabrication offers power rack-and-pinion steering, a coil-over suspension, and disc brakes so it tracks straight and true on the highway and feels very polished at speed. Out back there\'s a Chevy 10-bolt rear end hanging on what might be the original leaf springs, and a custom dual exhaust system was fabbed up to give it a muscular soundtrack. Classic steel wheels with International hubcaps and trim rings, plus fat Goodyear radials, give it an understated yet undeniably muscular stance. An unusual pickup that becomes something altogether unique with a few tasteful upgrades. We know International fans love their trucks, so this is a rare opportunity to get a well-built machine that you won\'t see at every show. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. I have for sale a 1953 Chevrolet Pickup Truck. It has been customized to the specifications that are listed below. This is seriously a bad ass truck. It has the power that can only be appreciated by driving it. Along with the power is a very nice paint job as shown in the pictures. Another custom feature that has been installed is a lift unit attached to the hood. The interior has had a complete makeover with power windows and is immaculate. For sound, I’ve installed a high end Alpine system for FM radio and playing CDs. This vehicle is a usable and highly developed custom, high performance classic pickup truck with top detailing throughout. The tilt front end uses hydraulic lifts. The unique “wet look” paint scheme and interior, the 400 CID motor and vented disk brakes put this above the average street truck. It is in the mid 90th percentiles of show and go trucks. It isn’t kept in a plastic bag for shows, but is selectively driven. The Vintage Air AC blows cold and the Alpine sound system is of high quality. The specs are as follows:Chassis:Frame type ? The mileage on the new motor is approximately 2,000. It is a very clean machine indeed.Feel free to contact me, Ricardo or Kimba, with any questions at 808-573-9083. I have more pictures if you’re interested. Serious buyers only, please. Thank you. Ad provided by ClassicCars.com

This 1953 Chevy 3100 5 window is located in our Louisville KY showroom. This custom painted 53 Chevy is a great looking street rod. The custom two tone paint has been laid down with a precise touch, then accented and separated by a vibrant pin stripe. The bed has been finished with a dark mahogany stain that compliments the darker burgundy very well. Pop the hood and you will see a well put together small block that is being fed by a Holley 4 barrel. Bringing that fuel to life is a MSD ignition and distributer. Hooked up to a turbo 400 transmission that turns a rear end filled with 3.73 gears and this street rod pick up will get you where you need to go and in a hurry. The chrome wheels add to the street rod look and give this 53 a great stance especially with the back ones having such a huge offset. The lip on the rear wheels is huge. Not to mention the brand new 53 front end will keep you going straight while giving you that vintage feel. Hop inside the cab and you will notice a two tone bench seat that is very comfortable and ready for the next long trip. The painted dash looks great and makes you feel like you\'re in a stock truck until you look down at the floor mounted B%26M shifter and then you remember your in a street rod pick up The sound deadening dynamat on the floor is a nice touch that not only keeps the road noise down but makes a good base for your choice of carpet to make your personal statement on this 1953 5 window. Options include Power Steering, Aluminum Wheels, Radial Tires, and Cloth. For more information on the 1953 Chevrolet 3100 5 Window call our Louisville showroom at (812) 294-1555 or to view this vehicle in full detail, including HD pictures and video visit our website at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
