You are viewing a Radical Volksrod High Boy Hot rod. This 2 time cover car/ goodguys pick VW Hot Rod bug is built of all steel. This Bug was built on a 71 IRS vw pan and the donor body came from a standard 71 VW bug. Now titled and registered as a 1950 Volkswagen roadster. All heater channel rust was removed. New quarter panels installed. The cars lower stance is achieved by adding a 18 gauge steel sheeting panel with ¼ “ lip that is 4" long. This is welded to where the stock running board use to bolt and extends downwards and under, to stiffen the body and lower its look. Smooth flowing corner radius were made from Vw fender corner sections. This look allows the car to achieve a lower stance then it really is! A form on channeling the body so to say. All front inner fender areas were smoothed and filled and the middle section above the beam was removed and a new section built to allow the pinched nose section to drift inward for the new sleeker rounded nose section that follows the lines of the stock hood. Much better then just cutting off the front section and letting the hood hang out over the beam?. Speed grills were hand crafted to add a flair to the front end along with recessed driving lights. Headlight Bars were custom crafted to hide all wiring. LED turn signals were located in the bars below the headlamps for a super clean look. 5 3/4" headlight housings hold Hagen street rods Diamond cut H-4 Headlights. Hood was welded shut for the ultra smooth look and no seams, Access in now through the removable underside dash panels. All vents were removed and filled on the hood as well.Rear Quarter panels were smoothed out and the upper body line moved straight back. The quarter panel extended to meet the new lower side rocker panel. The rear section of the fender wells were achieved by using the outer most section of a few beetle fenders, then the apron was shortened and new metal work added to achieve the rounded and pinched rear section.( Hence the High-boy look ) The rear fender area above the tire is crafted from 4 beetle front fender sections turned left to right and cut and welded in place . All sections in the rear wheel wells were then capped off with 18 gauge steel to smooth out all the areas in the new wheel well for that super clean look.Doors have Suicide door pin safety locks with LED indicator lights mounted in the power window switch boxes let you know when the doors are in lock mode. Doors a triggered via a driver remote key fob, there are 2 Red micro push buttons located below the dash to trigger the doors from the inside. A hidden back up entry bottom allows door excess when the power windows are closed, or you do not have the Fob on you.The removable Carson top, is constructed out of tubing and sheeted in aluminum panels. Filled and smoothed and then padded, followed with Water proof black Hartz cloth. 4 Bolts remove the top from the body. 2 allens at the custom windshield mount and 2 bolts on the rear quarter panel. Roof is sealed to the body with all gasket material and very tight. No rattles.Vision Hot rod concepts VF2 side mirrors with integrated L.E.D. turn signals.Rear Mono taillight was smooth fitted in the paint job and clear coated for that smooth look. All lighting contains L.E.D technology. GM Tilt steering. All flashers, turn signals, high/low beam switch and horn are functional in the column, as well as Ignition switch. Harold Carter built Pro Street 4 speed trans. Scat shifter with reverse lockout.Trans runs full set of trans straps and 4 link frame/rear horn brace.Chromed suspension parts are spindles, control arms, tie-rods and tie rods. Rear has chrome spring plates and chromed IRS axles. All other parts are powder coated. Powder coated chassis.Lowered Ball joint beam. Polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels 15x7 front rims with 195/50/15‘s, 17x8 rears with massive 255/55R-17’sChroma Base Salmon, with Chroma Base std GM Cream. ( Have all paint formulas) Color separation is Outlined in Hugger Orange and a Small black Graphic with light silver highlights the separation between the 2 colors. Engine long block was built by VW Paradises in California. Jason Lauffer 2332 CC Stroker monster motor.CB Forged CW crank. Wedge mated flywheel/ crank , Scat rods, ARP Rod bolts, Albert Zero clearance rings. Engle K-10 Cam, CB Wedge port heads, custom pushrods, big foot lifters, Etc,Etc.74 Cu inch Dick Landy built super charger with a modified Holley 650 double pumper blower carb. 009 dist with electronic trigger to fire MSD BTM blower management system located behind the back seat. 8.5.1 compression runs on super unleaded pump gas.Blower pulley is set for 5 ½ pounds of street boost. Have smaller 10 pound boost pulley. Needs race gas to run though.Full flow case runs a remote Ford truck filter setup to and external Engine oil cooler located on the bottom of the transmission on custom mounts. Has a built in 185 F temp sensor with Electric fan .Motor always runs @ or below185 F oil temp.HPC ceramic coated header pipes to custom bologna cut shorty chrome tail pipes. More details available upon request. Car runs great. Always starts right up. I did the paint about 6 yrs ago and shows very well. Has one small crack around were the taillight lens was molded to the body, has not change size since it cracked. Has a few very small chips from stones and sand on the nose down low. My family has grown, and we need to sell it to buy a bigger Hot rod that will fit all the stuff we need to bring along with us on trips. Hate to sell this radical fun to toy, but to small for the growing family now. Time to move on to something new. Have lots of $$$ invested in this one.Accepting all offers! needs to go!!!! I Would trade for a 54-56 chevy or ford 4 or 2 door wagon , 48-50 suburban of equal build quality or car/plus cash?    Ad provided by ClassicCars.com

If you\'ve been planning on building an old Chevy pickup, you should probably just buy this one instead. Featuring a 1950 5-window cab, an awesome color combination, a crate V8, and all the luxury amenities, it\'s exactly the way you\'d do it for about half the price of building your own. What\'s holding you back? The Advance Design pickups are probably even more popular today than when they were new, and with the market\'s new-found interest in vintage haulers, they\'re getting harder to find by the day. The best ones preserve all that\'s great about the original design and simply update the hardware underneath, and they totally nailed it with this one. The black paint keeps it looking simple, as if it could still head out into the back 40 and get the job done, and I think that\'s a big part of the appeal. Finish quality is quite good overall, with a clean bodywork and paint that is about right for a commercial vehicle. It\'s all steel, no fiberglass reproduction parts here, and the fit of the various pieces and parts is quite good, so it feels carefully built. Keeping all the chrome and stainless trim is a big plus, giving this truck an old-fashioned look that\'s even more appealing with the subtle modifications. The warm wooden bed is surrounded by walls with spray-on bedliner material and those classic taillights are now filled with LEDs for a slightly high-tech look. Bright red is always a great choice inside a black vehicle, and the handsomely appointed interior of this pickup is light years nicer than it was originally. That might be the factory bench seat, but it\'s wearing a brand new seat cover that uses pleats for a proper period look and a custom center armrest to make it a bit more civilized. Custom door panels help soften the interior a bit from the original steel pieces, and black floor coverings anchor it so it\'s not red overload. Custom gauges from Auto Meter fit into the original holes in the dash, so no cutting was required to get that trick look and a late-model tilt column and steering wheel keep it looking OEM. A modern A/C system was discreetly tucked under the instrument panel and there\'s an AM/FM/CD stereo cleverly hidden with the original slot using a fitted block-off plate. It\'s highly finished and refined, making this the kind of truck you\'re going to have a hard time resisting on the next sunny day. A crate 350 slots right into the old truck\'s engine bay, giving it a far more useful powerband for today\'s traffic than the original six. Topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake, plus a few chrome pieces, it runs and drives superbly. Upgrades like power rack-and-pinion steering and front disc brakes, not to mention a Mustang II front suspension, make this Chevy feel far more modern and capable. A TH350 3-speed automatic spins a 10-bolt rear end from an S10 pickup, which is an easy fit in the back of this vintage pickup. A custom exhaust system with throaty mufflers was just installed and the gas tank was relocated under the bed for safety. Obviously the stance was modified a bit, and it really hunkers down over those staggered steel wheels, which were painted red to add a bit of contrast. 215/70/14 front and 275/60/15 rear blackwall radials give it the perfect commercial look that\'s just a little bit hot-rod. A gorgeous truck with the right features, why would you build when you can buy today and start having fun immediately? Call now! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835. Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>
