Not your typical Black Widow clone! The best way to describe this is a numbers-matching original restoration of an unmolested true Black & White 150 model that came from Texas. All numbers match and the car with date codes supporting a mid-December, 1956 build date. The car retains its original VIN and Cowl tag to prove it. While the car was being restored, most every period correct Nascar modification was done to it within reason, to keep it street legal and easy to drive and enjoy. With that in mind, it does not have the Rochester Fuel Injection, but instead has the more reliable 270HP with correct dual four WCFB, Duntov 097 cam, and 997 heads that were unique to dual four engines. Keeping it correct to the trim tag, it retains a back seat and has lap belts for safety. It has the original Borg-Warner 3 speed manual transmission, with the shifter moved from the column to the floor using a period correct Fenton model. This is a 1988 Ford Thunderbird, Turbo Coupe. It's silver with a gray interior. It has almost 107,000 miles. The body is in really good shape with only a few cosmetic blemishes. No major dents or even dings. The pictures show the details. It's mostly to the rubber molding, which is inexpensive to replace. It has a new radiator and hoses, brake pads and rotors, and rear shocks. It does need front struts and these have already been purchased and come with the car. The service center recommended changing valve cover and transmission pan gaskets. There's no damage to the frame or anything under the car. No rust that I have been able to find. This car has been reliable since being purchased a couple of years ago. No breakdowns at all, and only minor repairs. The tires are in fair/decent condition. The A/C is cold but the fan will not blow unless it's on high. It has been driven locally, and made several three hour trips without any problems. The interior is clean and in good condition with no holes or damage to the seats, headliner, etc.. I purchase 9-24-13 from original owner Linda out of California where car had been it's whole life. It has never been smoked in or modified. Radio and floor mats are original. Has complete jack and owners manuals etc. Vin stickers are present on all panels. All covers intact on underside. No corrosion or rust anywhere even on factory exhaust or small attachment hardware. I never drove it here in Ky if salt had been used. All functions work. I have never had a issue with battery. I bought a grid charger that comes with car which I use every 2nd week plugging into reg house outlet. That cost 500.00. I also this year just put correct tires that cost 500.00. I'm selling because I live 3 miles from work and have 6 kids. ( 4 adopted from China ). This insight average lifetime is 54 which I read cannot be reset. Original owner drove highway. I get 44 city without even trying and don't drive alot of highway but when I did drive to the Auburn cord museum 5 hours away it got 54.8 in the rain 85 mph and that's no joke. Car was serviced at Honda by original owner and I have all receipts from oil changes I have done. I use 15.00 bosch oil filter and synthetic 0w20 which is correct. I also just put on 50.00 bosch wiper blades. Only negatives on car is roof is a little faded and some light clear coat peel on roof edge drivers side. Some grinding on down shift from to 2nd and 1st. It was like this the day I got it which I researched as a very commom problem. I pause before going into 2nd and 1st on downshift and no grinding is present so I never worried about it.
