1955 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4 BN-1 TWO-SEATER SPORTS ROADSTER. 3-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE. WIRE WHEELS. CA BLACK LICENSE PLATE. ORIGINAL COLORS: OLDE ENGLISH WHITE WITH GREEN TRIM. VIN # BN1-L 225506BODY # 5267 / 8769ENG # 1B225506M Up for auction, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS, is a 1955 Austin Healey 100-4 for restoration. This car was discovered in the San Francisco bay area after being stored since 1970, and now awaits a full restoration. Original factory color scheme appears to be Olde English White with Green trim. The trunk has some remnants of the original green Armacord. It is fitted with it's original 3-speed with overdrive gearbox and correct matching numbers drivetrain with the matching engine tag. It also still has it's correct VIN plate and body tag still attached to the firewall. The engine is stuck from sitting and would most likely need rebuilding. There are a few items missing on the car which are available new and some used. Please look at the photos of the loose parts, which are all included in the sale of the car. The car would need a bumper set, 2 overriders, an exhaust manifold, windshield glass, thermostat cover, 1 air cleaner, and some other misc. parts. The instruments (partially apart) and dashboard switches are in a box. There is a decent box of parts that came with the car including the wiper motor, fuel pump, body fittings, etc. The car includes some very hard to find items such as the softtop frame, complete windshield assembly, a decent set of seats, etc. The LH door and hood are currently not attached to the car. The car is fitted with an earlier alloy hood that has had some louvers installed. The frame appears generally solid with it's usual dings and dents, but after sandblasting could reveal some additional areas for repair. At one point, the car sustained damage to the RH chassis leg and fender bowl, which would need correcting/straightening during the restoration. There is some rust around the front of the RH leg, but seems localized to that area. Floors and trunk floor are original but scaly with some rust-through, and would also need repair, which is typical for a Healey of this era. Most of the outriggers appear reasonable. In general, the car needs a ground up restoration as any 60-year old Healey probably does that has been sitting all this time. But the end result is worthwhile, as the 100-4 model is becoming increasingly desirable as of late for its character, great looks, and simplicity. This car is located in Southern California and can be shown by appointment. It is sold with a current CA title. KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS. 909-920-9221, work. 909-241-1051, cell.
