UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS 1966 VW VOLKSWAGEN TYPE III FASTBACK NEWER RESTORATION AND REBUILT MOTOR. THIS FASTBACK WAS RESTORED AND MOTOR REBUILT. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS IT IS IN GREAT CONDTION, THE INTERIOR LOOKS NEW SEATS, CARPET AND IN THE TRUNK AS WELL. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS BUG THE GUY I PURCHASED FROM SAID HE HAD THE MOTOR REBUILT IN 2007 THEN DID THE REST OF RESTORATION AND ONLY DROVE IT 4000.00 MILES. HE DID SAY IT IS A TYPE 1 MOTOR. AS YOU CAN SEE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT IT IS SUPER CLEAN AND HE EVEN SEALED IN COMPARTMENT. THE PAINT IS NICE BUT NOT SUPER HIGH DOLLAR PAINT JOB. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME BODY WORK ON FRONT UNDERSIDE WHERE BUMPER GO'S. OTHER THEN THAT THE BODY LOOKS GREAT. ON PASSENGERSIDE THERE IS SOME PAINT CHIPPING AND ON INSIDE OF DRIVERS DOOR ALONG EDGE(KEYS GOT LOCKED IN COAT HANGER) IT SHOULD BE A EASY TOUCH UP. I THINK THE CLUTCH MAY NEED A LITTLE ADJUSTING AND THE IDLE RESET A LITTLE, THE CAR DOES HAVE LARGER SIZE TIRES ON IT RIGHT NOW SO WHEN YOU TURN SHARP THEY RUB SOME. OTHER THEN THAT IT IS A DAILY DRIVER AND WE JUST HAD IT IN THE CAR SHOW HERE WHERE WE HAD LOTS OF WAVES AND CHEERS. 1971 Kombi project. This bus has great bones. No major rust. I have just finished sandblasting and stripping it. Everywhere there was rust or bondo I have purchased new metal. I am moving from California to South Carolina and can't afford to move this project with me. It comes with everything I have. That includes all new seat belts, all new brakes, new transaxles, new 12 circuit generic wiring harness, and a freeway flyer transmission from Rancho. It is missing an engine and the rear seats, and the front glass. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the good news is all the nasty jobs have been done. It is clean now and is ready to start being put back together. I have a ton of receipts this thing comes with over 2500 in new parts. 1965 Electric Powered Dune Buggy. This unique dune buggy has been completely gone through and all electric conversions are NEW. First the drive train...Rebuilt transaxle, Bearings and Brakes. New disc brakes in front and rear hubs in rear. "Turning Brakes" work perfect. NEW rear heavy duty shocks (with adjustable overload springs for comfortable smooth ride). Corvette rims and great wide sporty tires all around. New steering dampner. New 12 volt electrical wiring kit with all labeled blade fuses. Valence Lithium for the main 12 volt and auxillary system along with NEW 12 volt charging system. The electric conversion as stated earlier is all new. Upgraded Curtis 1231 120-144 volt DC Controller... New D&D 120-144 volt DC motor. NEW Curtis potentiometer fb-6 . NEW Curtis Albright 200 contactor. New Curtis emergency disconnect system. NEW 120 Volt DC charger that conveniently plugs into any 110 volt outlet. (The 12 volt main and 120 volt is connected where just one plug is all thats needed). 10 – 12Volt Battery pack (deep sealed odorless gel batteries) Comes with a 4 year warranty. Will travel at least 50 miles per charge and charges about 4 hours. NEW relay and heavy guage wiring harness to ensure ultimate safety and premium operation. NEW Gauges… High voltage, High Amp, Low Amp, Hour Meter plus two extra gauges and 4 auxillary 12 volt plug ins. New Pioneer Stereo System, Off road halogen lights mounted on Protective roll bar. Auxillary neon light sytem to show off vehicle at night as well as license plate lights. NEW carpet kit and NO rips or tears on the seats. The list goes on and on. California is extremely strict and This vehicle passes all requirements in safety and protection in flying colors! Vehicle is registered and title is clear. Over 10000 dollars invested. I have ALL RECEIPTS, MANUALS and Operating intructions that will go with the Buggy. I have owned this unique dune buggy for over 25 years and completed the EV conversion this year. Conversion has less than 200 hours and all parts are still under warranty. The body has no dents but is in fair condition due to the clear coat wearing off and with alterations for the EV. The leather top is showing signs of wear but is weather proof and can easily be removed to enjoy the sun. This vehicle turns heads! To say it is unique is an understatement. I have several more pictures as well as videos per request. I would encourage anybody to see and drive this vehicle in person. It is FAST yet quiet as a church mouse! Tops out easily around 80 mph and can reach speeds of 60 mph in 6 seconds. YES this is freeway legal. Wave at the gas hog stations as this costs only pennies to drive.
