This car would make a nice driver with minimal work. It is not a $20k TR6, so have realistic expectations. The car runs and drives around the neighborhood currently, but I would not drive it on the freeway, etc. until you sort it out. The car has aftermarket fender flares that look fine and unless you know TR6s, you would never know that it had them unless you looked underneath. The engine and transmission work fine with the engine showing good oil pressure. The car has a new battery and starts almost instantly with a slight pull of the choke. The car does not have overdrive. The car is a “20 footer” as they classic car guys lingo. It looks good, but the paint has flaws. Most importantly, the frame is solid with no rust at the trailing arm attachment points. I have looked at many TR6s that look great in all regards, but when you look at the trailing arms mounting points this is often compromised. Cars with this sort of damage need a new frame. If you know TR6s, you know what I am talking about. I would never buy a TR6 on Ebay without seeing photos of this area on the car. You don’t have to worry about that on this car. The body is reasonably solid. There is rust on the rear upper fender seam as you find on almost all these TRs. The driver’s floor has a section with pinhole rust that was repaired with POR 15 and some fiberglass matting. Not ideal, but the section is not structural or at the pedal points, so you could leave it alone for quite some time if you choose. The interior is presentable for a driver. The seats were faced with black cloth and look okay. A rear seat was made for the car and even has seat belts there. The car comes with the aftermarket hardtop. There is no convertible top or frame for it. The guy lost it at some point. Top frames can be easily found though and a reasonable price. I have a clear title in my name on a non-operational registration. No back fees! **Car is sold as is with no warranty. It is a 40 year old car, and I have I described it to the best of my ability. I have owned many British cars over the years and will answer your questions with brutal honesty. I like to give you the total facts as I see it, since I have been burned by Ebay car deals in the past. If you are serious contact me and I will give you my phone number, so you can contact me. I prefer that to a thousand emails and it sorts out who is truly serious and not a time waster.
