Ford : Explorer Explorer 1991 ford explorer 4 x 4 rebuilt transmission clean needs some work

I purchased this as a project, was told that the transmission was bad. So we rebuilt the transmission and installed a new torque converter and the problem did not change. It will go into gear, will go reverse a little ways and then stops, will try to go forward but will not go forward. If you raise up the rear, you can get forward to jerk, but it acts like the rear end is locking up. Also when you try to move the vehicle, the back wheel just drags the ground and does not turn. So I am no expert, but I am thinking that maybe the rear end is bad, or maybe the transfer case? I honestly do not know. It also has a new power steering pump, belt, and pulley installed just a few days ago so that we could start it and try it out with the rebuilt trans. It runs great, the exhaust was removed to get the trans in and out, so that will have to be reinstalled or replaced as needed. It has 4 almost new looking tires on it and the stereo is aftermarket CD, but it sounds fantastic!! I do not know anything else about it because I have never actually gotten to drive it. I was fixing it up for my wife, but she is in need of a vehicle now and she lost interest in this one. I have a lot of $$ invested in this, but I need to move it on, so my loss is your gain hopefully. Please see all pics. Sun roof, leather seats (drivers has typical splits, that is why there is a seat cover) The rest of the interior looks pretty decent. Body in very good shape, some slight rust popping through on rear passenger quarter panel by wheel well, underneath is fairly clean for age with minimal to no rust. Paint looks great, and may have been repainted at one time, and if it was it was painted original factory color. SOLD 100% AS-IS
