I purchased this as a project, was told that the transmission was bad. So we rebuilt the transmission and installed a new torque converter and the problem did not change. It will go into gear, will go reverse a little ways and then stops, will try to go forward but will not go forward. If you raise up the rear, you can get forward to jerk, but it acts like the rear end is locking up. Also when you try to move the vehicle, the back wheel just drags the ground and does not turn. So I am no expert, but I am thinking that maybe the rear end is bad, or maybe the transfer case? I honestly do not know. It also has a new power steering pump, belt, and pulley installed just a few days ago so that we could start it and try it out with the rebuilt trans. It runs great, the exhaust was removed to get the trans in and out, so that will have to be reinstalled or replaced as needed. It has 4 almost new looking tires on it and the stereo is aftermarket CD, but it sounds fantastic!! I do not know anything else about it because I have never actually gotten to drive it. I was fixing it up for my wife, but she is in need of a vehicle now and she lost interest in this one. I have a lot of $$ invested in this, but I need to move it on, so my loss is your gain hopefully. Please see all pics. Sun roof, leather seats (drivers has typical splits, that is why there is a seat cover) The rest of the interior looks pretty decent. Body in very good shape, some slight rust popping through on rear passenger quarter panel by wheel well, underneath is fairly clean for age with minimal to no rust. For Your Consideration: Our 2002 Honda Civic EX sedan with just under 160,000 miles. The color is black pearl and is a 4 door sedan with automatic transmission. We are the original owners of the car and was maintained with the intent to drive it forever. Operational and Mechanical Condition: The car is in excellent running condition. AC, moonroof, and all accessories including remotes, power locks and windows, levers, knobs, etc. are in serviceable condition. Oil changes were done mostly with Mobil 1 synthetic. Transmisson fluid was flushed approximately every 40,000 miles. Timing belt was changed at around 93,000 miles. There are no modifications on this car and was responsibly driven. All four tires are new, replaced in September 2014. Last oil change was done in May 2015. Average combined MPG is between 34-36. We lived mostly in rural locations so the car mostly has highway miles. Overall the car is turnkey with no issues. Vehicle Exterior: The exterior has a plethora of dings and scratches but is in nice presentable condition despite it's numerous flaws. Please note that this car is 13 years old and the exterior is by no means perfect. The car also has a clean Carfax but just being upfront and honest the car has been hit three times, twice in the rear (while parked in a lot) and backed into once in the front (again in a parking lot) all at low speeds. Damage was light and was only cosmetic. Each time the damage was professionally repaired in all cases by licensed body shops. The car was garaged about 10 out of the 13 years we owned it. The paint is still shiny with regular waxing during it's life. Vehicle Interior: The car interior is in excellent condition (no kids and no pets). The carpets have minimal to almost no stains and looks like new. The original front and rear factory mats are included and are in excellent condition. There are some scratches on the plastic panels on the doors but nothing major. Original factory stereo is in good working order. The seats have no tears or stains and are in excellent condition. The headliner is clean with no stains or tears. The worse thing on the interior are the fabric panels on the inside of each door. The fabric is loose on the bottom but is not too noticeable. Summary: This is an excellent running car that was very well maintained. Our asking price is closer to the top end of the KBB retail price (currently around $6000). However where this car excels is that it was regularly serviced and have the records to back it up. An inspection by a prospective buyer should reveal that this car was very well taken care of. This car potentially has a long life still ahead of it. Why Are We Selling It?: We needed and purchased a van to transport visiting family members and for cargo carrying capacity. Terms: Clean title in hand. Paypal deposit of $500 required within 48 hours or car will be relisted. Remainder to be paid in person with cash only within 7 days otherwise the car will be relisted. No checks and please no scams. Upon inspection of the vehicle the purchaser may cancel the sale if the vehicle is not in satisfactory condition.
