This Cobra was purchased as a finished car over a decade ago. It is built on a FiberFab body. Upon obtaining it, the current owner took the Cobra to a very reputable high-end specialty car facility (Bob Hindson Racing) and had the Cobra completely reengineered to the tune of 10k dollars. His goal, to insure that he had a turn key sports car that handled like a true performance vehicle. During the course of his ownership, Bob Hindson Racing and AutoDino have been the primary care takers of this Cobra. Over the last five years, over 8k dollars has been spent on regular maintenance. The fit and finish of this Cobra far surpasses the bulk of the Cobras that you will find within the market place. Upon driving the Cobra, one of the very first things that you will notice is the overall quality of the car. The overall feel of this Cobra is equivalent to driving any vehicle off of the manufacturing line. Just turning the key over will give anyone a good feel of just how well built this car is. From how the doors shut and seal to how she handles, you will quickly see that there were zero corners cut on the build of this Cobra. The 5.0 302 within this Cobra is absolutely phenomenal. It does not smoke, leak, nor burn an excess amount of fluid. She fires up every time and has enough power to push you back in to your seat. The five speed manual transmission works flawlessly. You can easily sail through gears with out any problems. The front disc brake setup also works flawlessly. She does not pull, shake, or shimmy upon stopping. All of the wiring through out this Cobra is nice and tidy. Every single thing on the Cobra is in excellent working order. The body and paint work of this Cobra is absolutely surreal. All of the panels line up exceptionally well. Again, I want to put a heavy emphasis on the fit and finish of this Cobra. A very extensive amount of time and money were invested in to insuring that the fit and finish were spot on. All of the glass as well as chrome through out the Cobra are in excellent condition. The Cobra does have a convertible top. The interior of the Cobra is in excellent shape. The bucket seats, the dash pad, instrument panel, shifter, all of its is in excellent condition. Originally called the "Daytona Car," it was designed and built to take on the Ferrari GTO which had a sleeker design and was beating Shelby's Cobra at high speeds. After the Daytona placed 4th at Sebring overall and came in 1st in the GT class, Ford got behind Shelby in an effort to beat Enzo Ferrari and his Ferrari GTOs. In 1964, the car was very competitive with Gurney and Bondurant behind the wheel. With the season wrapping up and Ferrari ahead by just a few points, the final race at Monza would be the deciding factor, however, the race was canceled, leaving a great racing "what-if?" As a wonderful edition to the Superformance line, the Daytona Coupe is a redesigned street version of the original race car. Leading the charge was the original designer, Peter Brock. The street car features a slightly larger body than the original car, has a re-engineered suspension that was overseen by Roush Engineering, as well as many modern upgrades and creature comforts. The result is an incredible car that combines modern technology with stunning race car looks. Finished in Red with White stripes, this Shelby Cobra Daytona has just 6,500 miles since completion. Standard options include a tubular space frame, independent coil over suspension, period correct gauges, 4 wheel disc brakes,  aluminum radiator, stainless fuel tank, bucket seats, dual exhaust, power steering, power brakes, theft deterrent system, power door locks and AC. Additional options on this car include LeMans twin stripes, painted rear cove, sound deadening, Hi Fi stereo, heat dissipation, and ceramic coated side pipes. The engine is the Roush Performance 427R. This fantastic motor uses a Dart 4-bolt main block with big cubic inches and loads of dependability. The motor also uses forged pistons, rods and crank. The motors use Roush cylinder heads with premium stainless steel valves with 2.08" intake and 1.60" exhaust. The cam is a Roush hydraulic roller with a double roller timing chain and gear set. The carburetor is a Roush-tuned Holley 770 CFM with vacuum secondaries and an electric choke. The accessory drive system runs on Roush aluminum under-drive pulleys. As with all Roush motors, they are hot-tested and dyno tested to verify power.  The transmission is the optional T-56 Magnum, the premier aftermarket 6-speed transmission. The T-56 weighs just 135lbs dry and can withstand 700 lbs ft of tq. It has wonderful short and crisp action and offers a nice balance of strength and ease-of-use. Despite being built new, Shelby Daytonas are relatively hard to come by. This one took over a year from the time is was ordered, and some can take longer as the factory will only build the cars when it has sufficient orders. Upon obtaining it, the current owner took the Cobra to a very reputable high-end specialty car facility (Bob Hindson Racing) and had the Cobra completely reengineered to the tune of 10k dollars. His goal, to insure that he had a turn key sports car that handled like a true performance vehicle. During the course of his ownership, Bob Hindson Racing and AutoDino have been the primary care takers of this Cobra. Over the last five years, over 8k dollars has been spent on regular maintenance. The fit and finish of this Cobra far surpasses the bulk of the Cobras that you will find within the market place. I would say that this Cobra itself is in the top 10% of its class. Upon driving the Cobra, one of the very first things that you will notice is the overall quality of the car. The overall feel of this Cobra is equivalent to driving any vehicle off of the manufacturing line. Just turning the key over will give anyone a good feel of just how well built this car is. From how the doors shut and seal to how she handles, you will quickly see that there were zero corners cut on the build of this Cobra. The 5.0 302 within this Cobra is absolutely phenomenal. It does not smoke, leak, nor burn an excess amount of fluid. She fires up every time and has enough power to push you back in to your seat. The five speed manual transmission works flawlessly. You can easily sail through gears with out any problems. The front disc brake setup also works flawlessly. She does not pull, shake, or shimmy upon stopping. All of the wiring through out this Cobra is nice and tidy. Every single thing on the Cobra is in excellent working order. The body and paint work of this Cobra is absolutely surreal. All of the panels line up exceptionally well. Again, I want to put a heavy emphasis on the fit and finish of this Cobra. A very extensive amount of time and money were invested in to insuring that the fit and finish were spot on. All of the glass as well as chrome through out the Cobra are in excellent condition. The Cobra does have a convertible top. The interior of the Cobra is in excellent shape. The bucket seats, the dash pad, instrument panel, shifter, all of its is in excellent condition. 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra Model: 427 Cobra Mileage: Exterior Color: Black Transmission: 4 Speed manual Interior Color: Black Engine: 427 Side-Oiler V8 Stock Number: M-5051A VIN: CSX3281 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra in Black over a Black Leather Interior. Built with a 427 cubic inch side-oiler, overhead valve V8 engine with four speed manual transmission, four wheel independent coil spring suspension, rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel disc brakes and a 90" wheelbase. Originally finished in Green, this Shelby Cobra is Fully Documented in the Shelby American Registry and was 1st billed to to a Ford Dealer in Michigan in 1966 and then sold to its 1st owner in Houston Texas. In 1976 the car was sold and sent to Sacramento California where the new owner who worked at Cobra Performance replaced the cars original 428 motor with the proper 427 inch big block and modified the car with a full roll cage, rectangular tail lights (instead of the original twin round ones), and enlarged rear flares to fit the wide Jongbloed wheels. It also received a hood scoop, S/C dash layout and side pipes. In 1979 it was sold to a buyer in Oklahoma with the S/C upgrades and a 42 gallon fuel tank. The car was then later sold to another Texan whom sent the car to Bill Murray in Colorado for a full restoration, where the roll cage was removed and replaced with the correct S/C roll bar. Refinished in Black, it was fitted with Chrome Sidepies and Quick Jacks as well as 7.5 and 9.5" Halibrands and a Competition Gas Cap. The enlarged rear flares remained in place. Bill Murray is widely recognized as one of the foremost Cobra experts and restorers in the country. With the restoration completed in 1984, the Cobras owner never returned to pick up the car and it was sold to someone in Colorado before it was acquired in the fall of 1987 by renowned collector Otis Chandler of Oxnard California for his Vintage Museum of Transportation. After nearly 20 years in Chandlers respected collection it was offered for sale and returned to Texas. This is a stunning example with an unblemished history that includes ownership by one of the country's most respected collectors, this 427 Cobra is destined for another collection! Can-Am stands for The CANadian-AMerican Challenge Cup, which was an SCCA/CASC sports car racing series. Except for the recently developed Shelby Series 1, the Shelby Can-Am racecar is the only car constructed from a blank sheet of paper by Carroll Shelby and his design team. This car is #12 of only 74 cars ever built, complete with the original Shelby Log Book, miscellaneous documents and spares.This is a very special Shelby Can-Am as it is still currently in its original format. The car was purchased on June 14th, 1990 by Richard %26#8220;R.E%26#8221; Crowell, who also raced the car. It was later purchased by Bob Johnson, a renowned Shelby Can-Am collector, who owned the car until 2013. The engine was rebuilt by MRE Power Products of Greenville, Florida in March of 2013 at a cost of $4,252, which we do have the receipts in hand for!The chassis was designed by Alan Burke and David Bruns, original body work was from the legendary Peter Brock, the transmission came from the Can-Am and Indy Car gearbox shop of Pete and Chris Weismann.
