This stylish 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S registers just 48,650 original miles on its odometer. The Carrera 4S is a fine automobile—commonly referred to as the C4S—one that is essentially a naturally aspirated 911 Carrera with major drivetrain and bodywork changes. The drivetrain in the C4S is all-wheel-drive as opposed to rear-wheel-drive in the standard Carrera. The bodywork should look familiar, as it is the same shell as that of the Turbo model with its flared fender arches, rear deck-lid spoiler and revised front nose and rear bumper/valence. The Turbo influence is further reinforced with the 18-inch Technology wheels, a lowered ride height and red brake calipers. From a visual perspective, all this eye candy proves to be indistinguishable from the Turbo, with the exception of the script on the rear deck lid which provides positive model identification. This particular car is from the last generation of air-cooled 911s, which were produced from model years 1995-98. These Porsches had the internal designation of “993” and are considered by many enthusiasts to be the finest air-cooled Porsches ever built. What lies at the heart of this reverence toward the 993 is the build quality: being the last of what was largely a “hand-built” Porsche prior to the conversion to a much more automated production process. That quality is reflected in the panel fit, the vault-like feel of the door closing, and the extensive use of high-quality material to complement the precision assembly. The 3.6 liter engine and 6-speed gearbox combine to provide serious performance—even by contemporary standards—with a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 166 miles per hour. Thank you for looking.  The Good: For sale is a nice condition 1995 911 993 Porsche 42k miles and ALL service work completed.  It has factory rear turbo quarters with the S ducts for looks.  All the parts used for conversions are factory 993 Turbo parts. It has the factory tool kit, spare tires and convertible top cover all in perfect condition.  I has a complete new front and rear radar detector that functions very nicely. It also has two key fobs and keys and the original owners manual. Standard Equipment Includes: Porsche 3.6L 12 Valve all aluminum H-6 engine with a tiptronic transmission. Factory 993TT Big Red Twin Turbo with Brembo Alloy 4 piston calipers and 993 Twin Turbo Disc Brakes. 19" Porsche Factory New Panamera Turbo Aluminum Alloy Wheels with 4 new Bridgestone tires mounted on them.  They have seen about 2 miles since new and one month and run great.  It also has factory new metal crested genuine Center Caps. Factory C2S turbo look conversion steel rear quarter panels with air duct inlet like the 1994 3.6 Turbo “S”. AM/FM CD player stereo with ten speakers. AC, power seats, windows, sunroof etc. H&R performance 1.5” lowering springs for Euro ride height. Recent service history. Past service history on excel spreadsheet available. The engine runs strong and is perfect.  Not a drop of oil leaked. The secondary air system was cleaned and the secondary air valve was replaced just recently as a precaution when the exhaust was down to do the oil return tubes. The front main seal and chain housing seals were all done as well since the little grommets around the bolt holes had begun leaking. It has new chain tensioner ramps as well. The CV axles were rebuilt and the transmission fluid and filter serviced. It has fresh Brad Penn high zinc engine oil  The transmission shifts nicely and is a recent replacement with 23k miles. The wheel bearings are in excellent condition and are quiet. It has a new engine air filter. I installed all new spark plugs. I installed new distributor caps and rotors. I rebuilt the distributor with a new belt I changed the engine oil and filters. It has a brand new genuine Porsche battery that is under warranty much like many of the other new parts that were replaced. The brakes are all in excellent condition and were serviced. All the electrical gauges and fuse panel components and interior electronics operate without problems.  It has a new oxygen sensor. The catalytic converters function very well since it had no problems passing emissions. It has a new power steering rack and fluid. It has a new power steering belt and associated camshaft seals. Upper and lower valve cover seals were replaced Both front and rear hood and hatch shocks were also replaced so they both stay up on their own. I also recently did a compression and leak down test of the engine for a potential buyer and here is what I found: Cylinder #1 188psi with 2% Leakdown Cylinder #2 191psi with 1.5% Leakdown Cylinder #3 187psi with 2% Leakdown Cylinder #4 190psi with 1.5% Leakdown Cylinder #5 187psi with 2% Leakdown Cylinder #6 189psi with 2% Leakdown Aside from the excellent compression and leakdown numbers, what really sets this 1995 Porsche 993 apart from many of the others you see is the low mileage, fair price and solid mechanical condition.  This 911 will run stong for years to come.  Here is the copy of a recent PPI that a customer paid to have done for this car.  He later was unable to arrange funding for the vehicle, but intended to purchase the car.
