I have owned this 2001 Boxster S since it was new. I special ordered it and took delivery on April 30, 2001, from Rusnak Porsche in Westlake Village. It is a Southern California car and has always been garaged, covered and on a battery tender. It has never been tracked or driven in the rain. The oil is changed once a year (every January 1st) and analyzed by Blackstone labs. The oil filter is also cut open and examined when the oil is changed. It has always been free of debris. The rear wheel bearings were replaced in 2013. In 2015 the water pump was replaced as part of preventive maintenance. At the same time the water pump was replaced a new low temperature thermostat was installed, the coolant hoses were replaced, the serpentine belt was replaced and motor mount was replaced. All maintenance is up to date. There is nothing wrong with this car; mechanically or physically. The wheels have been refinished by Wheels America and have no curb rash and they are straight. Clean one owner CarFax. No accident, paint work or body work. I did have the front bumper license plate holes filled, the bumper painted and 3M Paint Protection film installed. I ordered the Boxster with the following factory options; Comfort Package including Seats with electrical height, length and backrest adjustment, left and right; driver's side memory function and adjustable lumbar support, left and right. $2,090 Self-Dimming Mirrors and Rain Sensors. $690 Heated Front Seats Package $400 Sports Touring Package including Wind Stop, Sound System, Cruise Control, Alarm System, CD Radio, On-Board Computer $2,870 Headlight Washers $225 Wheel Caps with Colored Crest $170 Porsche Stability Management $1,215 Xenon Headlights $1,070 Black Floor Mats $92 Porsche Crest in Headrest $210 The window sticker was $59,997. I have every piece of paperwork on the car from day one including build sheet. I have added the following; Exterior '03 18" Light Alloy Carrera Wheels '03 Top with Glass Window '04 SE Red Taillights Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) Secondary Cat Bypass Pipes Smoked Front Side Lights Side Light Blinker Mod Silver Hood Crest Fog lights converted to LED DRL Front License Plate Holes Filled & Painted Interior 996 Aluminum (White) Face Gauge Cluster (X71) 996 Leather (Stitched) Instrument Surround Leather Door Panels Red Seat Belts Red Rear Console Aluminum E-Brake & Shift Knob Leather Bird Arm Rest Extension Steering Wheel Modified by CarDreams (Thickened with Red Stitching) Leather Air Bag Cover Garage & Gate Switch Hack using 996 Targa Roof Switches Spoiler Dash Switch Rennline Dead Pedal Interior Foot Well Lights Sun Visors Delete BlackVue Dash Camera One Touch Top Relay PAC ASAI-21 Auto Switch (Smart Phone / CDC) Also Numeric Shift Console Numeric Cables LN Spin-on Oil Filter Magnetic Drain Plug The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 2 N3s. They are six years old and have 11,000 miles on them. The DOT date on the tires is 3410 (August 2010). They show well and have a lot of tread left. A new Battery was installed in December 2016. The 996 instrument cluster installation is well documented with photos and receipts. The engine number of the Boxster is M96 21/ 671 09227. According to a Pelican Technical Article, this engine should have the more desirable double row IMS bearing. I have not changed or upgraded the bearing. On July 2, 2008, at 16,452 miles, the RMS was upgraded. The invoice states, "R&I Exhaust, R&I Transmission, R&I Clutch and Flywheel, R&R Rear Mail Seal, R&I Tensioners, R&R Intermediate Shaft Flange Seal, Clean Oil Residue From Trans and Engine." The total bill was $2223.52 and listed the following parts; 1 - 997.101.212.00 Shaft Sealing RI 1 - 996.105.112.01 Rubber Gasket 4 - 999.385.004.01 Torx Screws 3x35 3 - 900.385.275.09 Torx Screw 5x29 8 - 999.073.092.09 Screw 10x50 The original stock S Muffler, Secondary Cats, Mirrored Sun Visors and original taillights are included in the sell. Why am I selling the Boxster? I bought it in 2001 when I was 47 years old. I am now 62. I want another Porsche sports car to enjoy. In all likelihood, a 1979 to 1989 911. Hell, if I keep the next Porsche as long as I have kept this one I'll be 77 years old at this point of ownership. If I had the garage space, I'd keep the Boxster. More photos are available upon request. Pre-purchase inspections are welcome.
