1973 914, 1.9 liter – May be one of the best mechanically prepared 914’s you’ll find. I’ve owned the car for 15 years as the 3rd owner. This car was professionally modified over time by Fabson Engineering in Cedarburg, WI, with PCA DE events and autocross performance as the primary goal, but still keeping the car 100% street legal, reliable and fun to drive. This car started as a base 1.7 car with an appearance group option package. Almost everything is replaced with new parts, either original stock or performance upgrades. Performance over cosmetics was the objective, so if you’re looking for an “all original, concours show car” this car may not be for you. No Q-Tips have ever swabbed this 914! But if you would like a car that won back to back autocross crowns, pulls hard up the hills after turns 5 and 14 at Road America, carves corners on the Wisconsin back roads with the big kids, and is a blast to cruise up to Wayne’s Drive-in for a burger and shake on Thursday night car show night, you’ll want to look at this one. Pro driver Randy Pobst has driven this car at Road America and Blackhawk Farms, and had a ball driving “old school” in it. His autograph is under the front hood. The car is driven less than 1000 miles per year and is garage kept all year. No winters and rarely caught in rain. I simply don’t have time to enjoy it as it should be, and don’t I have the budget to do the cosmetic work I’d like to. It’s time for someone to take over and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
