Up for sale is my 1965 Porsche 356 SC Chassis number 220120, engine number 812977, transmission number 82562 Matching numbers per ORIGINAL title from Brumos Porsche and Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. Southern car, residing in deep South until last year. Full engine disassembly, cleaning, inspection and rebuild including new main bearings measuring standard crank/standard case; heads were totally disassembled and rebuilt with new valves and guides; engine has new Reinz gasket and seals installed; powder coated engine tin and heater flapper boxes which are fully connected and functional. Engine was run on on an engine test stand outside of the vehicle where timing and carb adjustment, valve last was set. Oil pressure gauge was mounted on engine and showed 25 lbs at idle and 40-55 lbs when engine was revved. All prior paint on the car was stripped, and car was brought down to the metal (please see link below with photo album depicting the restoration). The closing panels are pristine and one can see the spot welds all the way up into the inside of the fenders. No undercoating was put under the fenders so that you could see how nice and clean the welds are. New installation of Stoddard floors, jack spurs and battery box. Longitudinals are original to the car. Even gaps throughout, engine lid and hood close evenly. Doors close with a nice "thunk". One person commented that they sound like a bank vault door when they are being closed. Car was color matched through a Willhoit Togo Brown color sample. Interior color was changed from black to red. Full transmission removal, disassembly, inspection and then resealed, topped off with new fluid. Clutch is excellent and the transmission pulls well through all 4 forward gears with no problems whatsoever, gear shifts are smooth and clean, reverse works perfectly. (see the short test drive). Gauges work, temperature gauge works, oil pressure light and e-brake lights work, turn signals, brakes, headlights low and high beam, running lights all work. Radio and clock are not currently working. New Chrome throughout, window frames, bumperettes, lights, wheels and hubcaps. 4 date stamped wheels 8/64. Rechromed and balanced after installing new Continental 185/55x15 ContiProContact tires. Rebuilt brake calipers, new Koni Red shocks, freshly turned rotors, repacked wheel bearings with new wheel seals. Brakes stop the car beautifully and evenly with no pulsation or pulling to one side or the other. The brakes are excellent! New Autos International interior, new carpets, new headliner, new body rubber seals, new glass windshield and rear window rubber seal, new windshield and rear window aluminum molding. New door seals and furry strips and vent window rubber; all window frames were fully disassembled and sent off to be rechromed and then painstakingly reassembled with the correct screws, bolts and nuts.
