I have a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am restored with a new 455 engine (less than 800 miles) and an automatic transmission. It has a rebuilt and tuned 4 Barrel Quadra-jet carburetor. AC blows cold. Excellent paint. New interior. New tires. The rear tires are 295 15's to handle the 500 pounds of torque. The engine has above 400 hp. It's a beast and sounds great with its custom headers and straight pipe glass pack mufflers. I've owned it for 5 years. It originally came with a 301 V8 engine. I had the 455 V8 Professionally built and installed at a very qualified speed shop in San Antonio. I added a picture of it two days before it was installed. I decided to install the 455 for it to be different and so much better than stock Pontiac engines from the late 70's. All 1979 Trans Am's barely made it above 200 hp and I just couldn't have it with it's very poor original factory specifications. You will love this car! It looks great, sounds great, and runs great!
