This 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is an excellent, and clean example, of a highly desirable muscle car that delivers iconic looks. Finished in glossy Starlight Black paint with gold graphics, this Trans Am is a nod to the SE cars we grew to love in our youth. Bodywork is very straight, which is critical in a black car, and gaps are good all around. Even the deck lid spoiler fits well, something that was even hard to get right when the cars were new. The unmistakable gold firebird decal on the hood was the car's defining styling element, and it is in excellent shape, as are the rest of the decals which appear new. Those decals continue the homage to an SE car with correct German script 'Trans Am' lettering, gold decals, and gold headlight inserts. Black was the interior of choice with your all-black Trans Am, and it looks simply amazing in this car. The deluxe package with the original velour insert seats are supple and comfortable, and there are no splits or tears anywhere in the interior. Door panels are also excellent, and the carpets are undamaged by the sun or wear. The gauges are all fully functional, and live inside a dashboard dressed up by Pontiac's traditional, gold machine turned gauge panel which remains bright. An Alpine AM/FM/CD player, air conditioning, power windows, and a center console round out the impressive list of equipment in this Trans Am, and a beautiful gold, 3-spoke steering wheel tops a tilting column. As a non-T-top car, the structure is stiffer and more rigid, and the interior is largely free of the squeaks and rattles that often plague the open cars. In 1978, the 400 was rated to make 220 horsepower, and could be paired with either the 4-speed manual or automatic transmission, as in this car. The horses are increased by a mild cam and the engine has been coated in Pontiac Turquoise paint that carries chrome valve covers, and a shaker-style hood scoop. The rest of the engine bay is exceptionally clean, and there are no signs of rust or accident repairs, everything appears new and fresh. The 3-speed automatic shifts cleanly, and power steering with front power disc brakes prove that Americans were starting to discover handling in addition to simple brute horsepower. With a rumbling dual exhaust and those gorgeous gold snowflake wheels, this is still a car that gets respect on the streets, even 36 years later. Nearly everything hints to a Special Edition Trans Am, and although it's not a true SE car, it could certainly fool the untrained eye. It still has iconic good looks with that highly desirable color combination. Trans Ams rarely come into our showroom in such great condition, clean, and are certainly never as nicely done with the attention to detail put into this one. From the first generation Ram Air IV cars, to the iconic Bandit Trans Ams, to the later model fourth generation cars...when they see a lull in the market, you can count on a sharp, upward climb in value. This low mileage, limited production 1994 Pontiac Trans Am 25th Anniversary is a very clean specimen that should prove to continue on that upward trend. As a nod to the first Trans Ams, Pontiac paid tribute by gracing the body panels of this '94 Trans Am with the same all white body with a bold blue stripe down the center of the car. Walking around this car, you'd be pretty impressed with the near showroom-like finish. It appears that this car obviously spent the mojority of its life pampered in a garage. It has seen less than 12K miles since being purchased new 20 years ago and it definitely shows. The blue striping appears factory fresh and doesn't show any signs of fading, peeling, or cracking. The flip-up headlights function like new and the removable T-tops lift off without any issue and stow away nicely in the rear hatch. Another nice feature of the 25th Anniversary model is the callouts at the bottom of the doors and 16'' alloy wheels finished in matching white. Inside is probably one of the most attractive and notable features of the Anniversary Trans Am, with bright white leather seats that provide and appealing two-tone contrast against the rest of the black interior. The front buckets are very clean and show very little wear with '25th Trans Am' stitched into the back rest. The door panels also received the same stitching treatment and look great continuing the two-tone theme. The rear seats are covered in the same white leather and appear to have never been sat in. All of the interior trim and dash looks great and crack free, while all of the amenities you'd expect from a car of this age and pedigree are present such as air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette player, anit-theft system, cruise control, tilt wheel, driver and passenger air bags, power locks, power windows, and steering wheel mounted audio controls. Although the 25th Anniversary edition was just an appearance package, that doesn't mean this Trans Am didn't put up some impressive performance numbers for its time. Power comes from the original fuel injected 5.7L LT1 V8 that produces 275 horsepower and is capable of propelling this Trans Am to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. That power is sent to an automatic transmission which was the popular choice for buyers of these 25th Anniversary cars. With that said, less than 1,700 automatic coupes were produced, so you can be sure you're looking at a special example here. The undercarriage of this car is very clean, you could be fooled into thinking the car has undergone a recent restoration. It's just been properly maintained its whole life! Turns are assisted with power steering, while braking duties are supplemented with power 4-wheel disc brakes. And putting that power to the pavement is 245/50/16 Goodyear Eagles. If you're looking for an affordable way to get in the collector car market, then consider this '94 Pontiac Trans Am 25th Anniversary. It's low mileage, limited production, and just now reaching 20 years old it's poised to see a steady climb in value. Don't kick yourself tomorrow when you can act now. When a car is the star of a feature film, an instant classic is almost always born. When it\'s a car like this 1977 Pontiac Trans Am that features the famous \'Bandit\' package we all know and love, you can be sure that the demand for it is just as high today as it was back in 1977. What\'s not to love about the appearance package of this Trans Am? The look is simply iconic with the black paint covered by gold decals and pinstriping. That big hood decal sitting in front of the shaker scoop is the feature of this car and it adds a character that will elicit compliments wherever you take it. Outlining the body panels are bright gold pinstripes that lay in a symmetrical fashion, leading to a \'Trans Am\' decal proudly displayed under the rear spoiler. The black paint provides a shiny gloss that compliments those gold accents. Sitting on the factory honeycomb wheels, the \'Bandit\' package is one that will remain appealing for many more years to come. While the correct tan interior on this Bandit Trans Am isn\'t what appeared in the Smokey and the Bandit movie car, it is still a great color combo and is extremely clean. Besides and AM/FM/CD player mounted in the dash, everything appears as it came in \'77. One of the best features of the interior is the cool steel milled panel that surrounds the clear gauges. The vinyl buckets up front and bench in the rear appear fresh. They are firm with taut covers and make for a comfortable ride. The bucket seats flank a convenient center console that features a large storage compartment and centers the gear selector for the automatic transmission. The door panels are clean with comfortable armrests, and the three spoke steering wheel sits on a tilt column. As you would expect, the heart of this Bandit is a 400 cubic inch Pontiac V8. Things remain stock under the hood, but that T/A 6.6 still growls with plenty of power and torque to keep you grinning whenever you hit the throttle. The power is sent to a 3-speed automatic transmission that is cradled by a solid undercarriage. To make driving this Trans Am a bit more enjoyable, Pontiac supplemented the experience with power steering and power front disc brake. The big motor sends gasses through a dual exhaust system that makes a classic, throaty snarl...it\'s the perfect sound for this iconic car! Cars like this Trans Am are seeing a sharp rise in demand and value. When you include the Bandit look like this one presents, you can count on more appeal which result in an even larger demand. If you\'ve been wanting to chase your child hood dreams of owning a 1977 Trans Am like this, now is your chance. Call Today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
