1966 Pontiac Tempest (numbers matching) History of the car Was told the car was originally from California , was purchased buy its second owner and then relocated to Arizona for most of its life , 3rd owner purchased the car and relocated to North Carolina around 2005 and was slated to get restored buy its owner .... Owner had other more important commitments so the Tempest was put on the back burner until a later date..... on his property out of the elements for most of the 10 years he owned it........ it was then Moved outside to pole barn within the last year due to the need for space in the garage.....I was in the right place at the right time and purchased the vehicle from him and restored it to its current level ..... Have all photos of the car before and after ...... all of the documentation on all of the repairs completed ....... This car looks and sounds great ..... What i can tell you of the car Super solid and super straight body pretty much rust free car when i purchased it,some surface rust but it was mostly just covered in dust and debris ...... I have provided link to photos and videos of the entire restoration of the car ( please feel free to ask anything you want or any pics you require ) This car was super clean before we even started the project Drive-Train Original 326 engine , 2 speed Automatic Trans , 10 bolt posi Differential assemblyDisc brake front / Drums duels with glass packs Exterior Body Block sanded the entire vehicle , repaired the minor imperfections such as shopping cart and door dings typical parking lot stuff , no metal or sheet metal work needed ..... see the pics it was just amazingly clean epoxy primed // mek primed // sealed // base coat applied silver sikkens paint // second base coat is sikkens custom blue // 4 coats of clear-coat applied to the vehicle // wet sanded and re-shot with an additional 4 coats of clear ...... it really pops see pics its a candy blue / silver effect. Refinished the exterior , jambs , interior components , under hood and under trunk ( see pics ) Polished the chrome and stainless // and emblems and logos // refinished the grill assembly wet sanded and buffed completely New front windshield Chrome on the car is original polished out great see pics Seals look great were replaced already Engine and Trans Complete engine overhaul which included replacing or reconditioning and balancing all internal engine components new pistons reconditioned the rods and crank shaft assembly reconditioned the cylinder heads replaced the oil pump with a high volume melling pump with pick-up of course all new gaskets Comp Cams camshaft (Grind Number:P XE262H-10 ) eldelbrock intake manifold New Holley Carburetor Hedmen ceramic coated headersChrome Valve covers new starter alternator battery HEI ignition system secondary ignition wires all components refinished with period correct paint including brackets and hardware ( see pics ) New Heater Core , heater hoses , radiator hose with grip and seal clamps most hoses are covered with black braided wrap upper hose was left clean for an original look....beltsnew master cylinder new wheel bearings alignment transmission selector shaft sealtrans mount transmission flush The Trans shift well and seems to be in good working order New Wheels 18x8 in the front with tires to match , New 18x9 in the rear again with tires to match new front drop spindles 2 inch sway bar links rear Air bags /front shocksobviously all of the fluids serviced Less than 250 miles on it since finished Interior New carpet new dash pad the seats and door panels did not need to be replaced so we just cleaned them up ,the seat backs we refinished to match the seat better and the chrome piping was replaced on the seats it was peeling base interior components and upper door were painted to match car light blue around dash was painted to match seats stock gauges and idiot lights all seem to work ( except clock )new armrest new steering wheel new door sill plates floors were solid with all of the original tar panels in their original place see pics Under- Car Clean Frame looks solid and unmolested solidbrake lines and fuel lines look goodfront end feels solid rear end and bushings look good not much was done to the bottom of the car just washed ( see pics ) Whats Left Radio original was going to upgrade to xm or sirrus stylewindow run channels,new outer seals installed but run channels should be replaced clock does not work hvac cables disconnected was gonna install gen v vintage air in spring rear and front ashtrays.... if you plan on smoking in the car needs seat belts aftermarket ones came with the car was looking for matching replacementsanything else you want to do or change to make it your own I'm sure i missed something so if you have a question about anything please ask please see pics on the link below for the pics onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=79154E6DD53AE36C!1052&authkey=!ACWb0gO1O9R9NfE&ithint=folder%2cjpg This was built as a driver and is not a must sell item This is a super solid car that has a pro touring look ....needs very few items to make it your own item is for sale locally so the auction could end at anytime This is a no Reserve Auction so bid to win The car is sold as is / Where is Oh yeah took it to its first car show Saturday .......
