Hi, you are viewing a Super Nice and Original Firebird Formula 400 (and REAL, the U in the 2nd digit of the vin designates it as a Real Formula and the T in the 5th digit makes it a Real 400) . This Beautiful car is from New Mexico with all of its original sheet metal and numbers matching 400 engine (the vin on the engine matches the vin of the car, not just correct date coded (that is what REAL numbers matching means ! ). I truly believe the 64,000 miles is original given the condition everything was in when I bought it. It runs and drives as impressive as it looks, its just a pure pleasure to drive. It is super tight and solid with no squeaks or rattles. It has a smooth ride over the bumps too. It runs cool all day long (even in this extreme South Florida summer heat ! And the sound of the exhaust is just pure muscle car heaven (hear Video ).It has a completely welded exhaust system that sounds SO good.This is the last year of the smaller back window, which in my opinion gives these 2nd generation cars a much better, more fastback type of look to them. When I bought this car a couple of years ago from New Mexico, it had the original paint and only 2 very small rust spots ( and NO little bubbles) that was professionally cut out and 2 small metal patches (couple inches by a couple inches) welded in and by being done the right way, there is just NO rust or little bubbles to ever come back. This car is as solid and Rust-Free as they come, I mean super,super clean ! I then had a very nice base/clear paint job a year ago in the Correct and Original White. The underbody is also beautiful and original and it impressed everyone when it was on the rack. It would be very, very difficult to find one as clean (above and below) as this car ! I think you would have to look at a LOT of these before you could find one like this. Mechanically this one is a gem also. The engine, trans, steering (really tight and just aligned also) ,suspension, brakes, etc.. perform beautifully. The trans has been changed to a low mileage 700R4, and I think any gar guy would agree with that change. Still has that great power when accelerating, but it is sure nice when you have that last shift into overdrive while driving normal at 45 miles per hour and then can cruise the highway saving gas and the engine, and they are known for being very tough transmissions. It makes me want to change the trans in a few of my other older cars. The interior is super nice also, with newly recovered correct deluxe seat covers front and rear (the foam was already very good) and are probably the most comfortable seats I have ever felt in an older car. Being a real Formula 400 it has all of the gauges like a Trans Am and they work (yes, the tach too). It also has tilt wheel (nice and tight, unlike most) and the Formula steering wheel. It has Power Steering and Power Brakes and the original radio was changed to a much better CD Stereo with much better speakers for more enjoyable cruising (it really makes a difference being able to listen to that). It is also an original A.C. car and the only thing missing is the compressor.The Honeycomb wheels are 15" with all new trim rings (expensive !) and center caps and 4 Brand New White-Lettered Tires with maybe 100 miles on them ! The tires are slightly wider than stock (especially the rears) for a much better look, stance and handling. The only changes on the engine is a newer intake and carb, I was going to buy and put the stock ones back on, but it just runs too darn good right now. The last thing I was going to do (besides an A.C. compressor) was buy the Ram Air air cleaner that meets with the hood scoops and looks really cool. You can get brand new reproductions complete for 400.00 here on e-bay. I never got to that yet, and as you can probably already tell, I have spent a small fortune to make this car what it is. You could not buy a decent one of these original Formula 400s and turn it into one like this for anywhere near what I am selling this car for (not including the time and labor factors). In closing, all I can say is this car is SO much Fun to drive and the Sounds and Looks it has make it a major Attention-Getter (it gets a TON of attention everywhere I take it).. I don't think there are many cars on e-bay that can compare with the rarity, condition and looks for the price of this original muscle car. And in this condition I think it is a fantastic investment as well. I know there are very few of these that are as solid and nice as this one !
