Very well maintained 1978 Pontiac Trans Am, this is a real TA not a Firebird or Formula. It started its life as a southern California car and hasn’t been out of the Southwest. It was previously owned and maintained by NASCAR Hall of fame driver and current crew chief Bill Sedgwick. The body was repainted only a couple years ago, refinished with multiple coats of clear. The decals were not reapplied at the time, but that can be negotiated into the deal if you want them. All panels are straight and gaps even, no rust on the car at all. The urethane nose piece is in great shape with no signs of shrinkage. It’s equipped with 15 inch Cragars that are in great shape, no blistering or peeling; the tires have plenty of life left on them as well. On the interior, the car came equipped with power widows that function smoothly. It has an updated radio with ipod hook up but the dash was not cut into to install. The carpet, door panels, headliner and seat covers were all replaced. The dash and gauges are in excellent condition, everything works. Under the hood, the 403 cubic inch engine runs amazingly strong, possibly the best running classic car I’ve ever owned. Equipped from the factory with power steering, power brakes and A/C that blows ice cold. Everything is as it should be from the factory, down to all smog equipment still in place and functioning so this car is sure to pass any state emissions test. All suspension components are in excellent condition, the car handles and steers tight with minimal body roll. Yes I said 100% original with the exception of one high quality repaint. This car was bought new at Pentel Pontiac in St. Louis, MN brand new but came out to California shortly after and is a beautifully solid and rust free example underneath. In 1975 just over 1,823 "Z17" coded SJ Pontiac Ventura coupes were built, and out of those 1,400 Sprint Option Groups were produced. These RARE cars are getting harder and harder to find especially with these low miles and all original gorgeous condition, with original documentation! This is certainly one of the nicest left in existence! The chrome and stainless trim is original and in very good condition and were all professionally cleaned and detailed. The white vinyl interior is 100% all original and looks great! The seats are in excellent shape with no rips or ware at all. The carpet, door panels, dash, and headliner are all in great shape and look excellent. All of the interior chrome and window trim are very nice with no pitting or rust. All of the gauges, turn signals work correctly. The steering wheel is also still in very good condition with no cracks. Mechanically, this Sprint runs great. The motor runs great and is all correct and numbers matching. The 350ci V8 sounds great and really moves this sled! The motor runs very good and the trans shifts flawlessly. The car has always been well maintained and has the original build sheet documenting the car's birth. Oil change, belts, hoses, tune-up, and brakes were all done and checked when the car came out of a collection recently. The water pump and seals were just replaced. The car is tight as a drum and doesn't leak a drop of anything! A nice custom exhaust really sounds good dumping out of the 350! The engine compartment is all original and have never been freshened up other than what looks like the valve covers repainted. The fiberglass fan shroud is in great condition. The air intake snorkel hose is original and intact, and the hood pad looks fresh and clean. The car is riding on factory Pontiac rally wheels which were part of the Sprint package. It has like new BF Goodrich Radial TAs. They look really good on this car and fit excellent with the look of the car. The trunk compartment is very clean and original and looks awesome. The original jack, stand, and inflatable spare are all present.
