This is a very nice Turbo Grand Prix. It has low milage for its age. It has almost new tires with at least 90-95% tread left. Tire are not Gator backs. They are Yokohama YK520 tire size P245/50R-16 the correct size. All electronics seem to work from seats, windows, radio and steering wheel controls, A/C, mirrors, heads up display, floor console, all lights in and out. If you know this car the ABS brake system always has problems and you get multiple ABS brake light plus Brake light Check engine light all at the same time, no light at all. The brake system works as it should. Change the ABS Accumulator last year. This part is impossible to find. If you need it for your car let me know. This is not a Maine car i have had it for a short time and is garaged kept. There seems to be no rust on the car and is solid. The only rust is on the exhaust system and is only surface rust, and is common even in dry states, this is due to metal not being treated. The interior is almost like new, with very little wear and tear, the driver seat has the most and is still very little, no cracks on dash. Carpet has some stains never real tried to clean but probably can be clean. original mats worn but have after market set in good shape. When you check on Carfax it shows that it was in a fire. I was told by previous owner that it was not. The storage facility burned down where the car was stored and they kept vin numbers on file and was reported to police that the car was there and burned up. It was not and was at owners home at the time of the fire. This car has tons of plastic moldings on it and they are all it great shape and not melted. Plus the car looks like it has original paint, and all rubber seems original too. If it was the car would have been totaled and not fixed due to parts you cant even find and age of car. This is a real "242" code GTO with full PHS documents and original factory build sheet. I also have clean title in hand. The body is all original except a floor pan and trunk pan, all other metal is original! This GTO just finished a 3 year body off restoration earlier this year and only has a few hundred miles on it since. Everything on this car has been replaced or refinished. I have close to 30k in receipts that will accompany the car as well as hundreds of photos during the restoration process. The paint work is beautiful and done in its factory color "Montego Cream". It does have a couple chips so its not perfect but trust me when I say, its gorgeous. The interior is all new and a perfect 10, everything works except the gas gauge. All the glass is brand new with factory tint. All suspension and brake parts are brand new, again, everything in this car is brand new. The motor is a YS block out of a 67 GTO and is date coded 3 month before the build date of the car. It is 100% rebuilt with all new internals including an Edelbrock cam and only has a few hundred miles on it (I have the motor build-sheet). The transmission and rear end have also been totally rebuilt. The car has power steering and power disk brakes. It also has power windows and per PHS documents the car was ordered with a factory trunk pop which is also in the car. This GTO runs and drives like brand new (it is a brand new car), it goes straight down the road with no pulling or vibrations. The body and paint are excellent, NO rust NO rot NO blisters. Look at the pictures, you can eat off the under neath and engine bay. This car is straight as an arrow. The Craggers are brand new along with the BF Goodrich Radial TA's. The underneath is extremely clean and nicely painted. The engine bay is close to show quality. Remember this car is essentially a brand new car, aside from a few chips in the paint it is like getting into a brand new factory car. This car runs and drive like it should with very low milage for year of car. The interior is in excellent condition with no dash cracks or tears in leather. All tires are newer Yokohama 245/50/16 not the Gatorbacks that came with the car new. The car has heads up display on the windshield, it show speed and other info. The car is not perfect but is a good example of one. They made only around 4000. Not sure exactly how many seen numbers as low as 1000 and high as 3714. They came in bright red and black with gold flake. Numbers also vary but seem to be more red than black. The car does not seem to leak any fluids nor does it seem to smoke. To all that know this car the ABS brakes do work as they should. This was a problem for these cars and GM was only a couple of years into doing ABS brakes. I just replaced the ABS accumulator. This part is discontinued even though web sights say they have part, you order and a day later are told discontinued. Found old stock from a blog if you need this part email will give info. I am selling this car as is and best that i can describe. This car on carfax or auto check will show car was in fire or something like that. I was told by seller it was in a storage facilities that burned down and was reported by the police that car was burned. The storage place gave all cars vin numbers to police. The owner said car was at his home at time of fire. I have looked at car and see nothing to suggest that the car was in a fire. All the molding on car are plastic and would have melted. The interior look original. so does the engine. Plus looking at paint with door dings, paint chips, scratches and swirls i don't think so. So you decide if you believe or not i have disclosed everything the best i can. I do believe that the insurance company would have total the car. I have up for consideration what I would call a really great opportunity for someone who would like to finish off a highly sought after A body Pontiac tribute muscle car with many of the hard to find components already collected and ready to be transformed into what I consider one of the coolest muscle car of the 60's. This 1965 Tempest convertible has the YN code 326 - 250hp engine complete with the factory 2bbl and the Super Turbine 300 automatic transmission. The floors are solid and have not been or do not need to be replaced in any fashion nor do the rockers or the trunk pan. This was an original Texas vehicle with a super clean frame as well. Rust work will not be the issue. The car runs and drives and has brakes but I would not consider this car road worthy and safe to drive in its present condition. The convertible top is a manual type which I like since it only takes one person to bring it up or down anyway. The car has had a recent enamel paint job in Regimental Red but its an amateur paint job at best. There is one small dent on the top of the right front fender which was done today at my disgrace but everything else on the car is nice and straight....no rust holes of any kind or bubbles. This is a great donor car for a 65 Goat. Now for the GTO stuff.. The car has an original GTO grab bar installed, new bucket seats with new correct vinyl both front and back, new correct assembled door panels for front and back (not installed), new carpet, original metal type dash inserts, Ralley I type wheels, All new in the box GTO emblems for front fenders and rear quarters (not installed), New factory correct Harrison radiator in the box (not installed) New chrome arm rests for both doors, (not installed) and much more.... Now the meat and potatoes... The car comes with a 1965 421 (block # 9778791) dated H274. This motor was a running motor 2 years ago when it was taken out of a believe it or not a 71 Chevelle convertible. The heads have a casting number on them of 76. The right head # 9778776 with a date 1 5 4. The left head # 9778776 with a date 1 3 4. This motor comes with all of the factory pulleys, brackets for power steering pump, alternator and everything for all of the belts to ride on complete. Even the starter is still in it. I have a set of mint factory GTO manifolds complete with the heat riser with the correct numbers for the year. This all sets in front of a massive TH 400 auto which they didn't have for Goats in 65 but necessary once you read on to the next feature. The final piece that makes this package worth all the money is a beautiful professionally reconditioned 1965 Tri-Power set up in a bolt on fashion ready to be installed with no compromise to quality by an expert carburetor enthusiast including a brand new NOS center carb (1965) which has never had gasoline run through it with the front and rear carbs (1964) having been brought to as new like new condition. The jets have been dialed to Bob Cat specifications to fully compliment the awesome power of very rare 421 power plant. Call with questions.........
