We are located in Dunedin, Florida a suburb of Tampa, Florida. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Pontiac Trans Am "Tojan" Knudsen Automotive in Omaha, Nebraska, under consignment from GM, produced a total of 136 of these custom cars between 1984 and 1991. 123 hardtops and 13 convertibles were produced and all were based on the Firebird chassis. The custom creations were sold through a network of dealerships in California, Texas, New Jersey and Florida. Price tag for these custom cars ranged from $36,000 to $62,000 depending on the options chosen. Interestingly Tojan's made appearances on TV in Miami Vice, Alien Nation and the movie Collision Course.This entry on the site marks the first time I have ever been able to document the Tojan. In the '80s there were probably lots of people in the Pontiac hobby that were familiar with these particular custom creations but since production stopped a long time ago and these cars are rare as hen's teeth, I'm pretty certain they have been lost out of the general knowledge of the community. As such I'm happy to finally be able to create this section and offer a few examples of these very interesting cars here in the Gallery. At the time these pics were provided to me the car reportedly had only 34,000 miles on it. Nice Grand Prix GTP Competition Series. Yes it has the paddle shifters and they work! Car came from auction with a rebuilt title only because the the front bumper and bumper cover and front of hood were in a minor accident. Another front bumper and cover and hood were put on. Thats the bad which isnt bad at all. The good is it runs great looks great has cold Ac excellent interior and body is nice. This is a rare car. Not only is it a GTP its a GTP competition Series. From what I understand came with better brakes better suspension and better gearing and of course its supercharged along with the manual paddle shifters. Car is pretty fast. Also has sunroof and factory 6 disc stereo changer. Does need a couple of small things. The wheel hubs could use changing even though they sound fine the ABS light is on account of the brake sensor is built into them. If you know GMs this is common. This a good price for a rare car. When I got to his house to see the car, he had it coved in soft blankets in his garage, even thou it has a cover with it, he said it wouldn't hold any moisture this way. The body is Gorgeous - as is the paint. Beautiful Original Tinted Glass, Trim, Interior and Chrome. You can't hear it run or even feel it run at a stop light. I drove the car home 102 miles , half was on the interstate at 65 MPH, all I can say is AMAZING !
