If you're ready to draw a crowd at the next car show then this Valiant needs to be what you pull up in. Yeah, Camaros and Mustangs are cool but the problem with those 60's muscle cars is you are always just another 1 out of 15 parked in line. This Valiant on the other hand is not something you see very often and cars like this always start conversations and stand out among the rest. Not only that, but this unique classic was built to drive comfortably AND it is being offered with a fair reserve Well this classic is ready to go and has some modern comforts to make driving it even more enjoyable. The body of the car is in good condition without any rust or evidence of body work. It is very straight and coated in a nice Sophia White paint that pairs perfectly with the Black vinyl top. The car wears all of its original trim and chrome pieces which have a nice shine. The 3 piece grill looks great up front and is similar to what you would see on an early Barracuda. The car sits slightly higher in the back creating a nice rake on the side profile and rides around on brand new 15 inch Retro wheels with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Pop the hood and you will be greeted with a fresh 318 V8 motor with only 1,000 miles. It is rated at 300 hp and when sitting behind the wheel you can tell it has some power. It has a great sound through dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips routed under the rear bumper. The engine compartment has been dressed up to be show ready with blacked out Mopar valve covers, a Mopar air cleaner, nicely painted inner fenders and a polished aluminum radiator but it is more than just looks. It also has some performance upgrades like the Edelbrock Performer manifold and EZ Fuel injection system. Paired to the motor is a 904 automatic transmission that moves through the gears smoothly via a B&M ratchet style shifter and sends power back to the 8 3/4 rear end. A new fuel tank was just installed along with a new internal fuel pump. The suspension was has also been redone with front and rear sway bars. Larger than stock disc brakes are in place up front and the car slows to a stop smoothly and with no noise. It is a very nice driving car that runs around town and down the highway equally as well. The interior of the car is new which includes all new seat padding. It is done in a two tone Blue and Black with ostrich skin style inserts at the top of the seats. The carpeting, door panels, headliner, package tray and dash are in good shape as well. An underdash AC unit is place and blows cold with no issues. A new heater core was added and the heater works great on those cold days. A modern bluetooth radio has been added with a mic custom wired towards the driver so you can use your phone hands free on the way to the show. The cool thing is that the original radio has been left in place so you have the modern feature with the vintage look. The dash features the original gauge pod but a tachometer has been added to the column with aftermarket temp and oil gauge hanging below the dash. This cool classic has a lot going for it and a very cool look. I have documentation of all repairs and would happy to provide to the new owners!!! I can provide you with a link to view the underside of the car when a new exhaust system was installed a couple of weeks ago. If you are a facebook fan, search Viper Motorsports in Weatherford and scroll down for the link. Ebay does not let me post links directly. You can call me directly if you have any questions..817-301-7984-Michael

This particular 1971 Plymouth Valiant Scamp, however, isn't some smog-strangled stocker, but a warmed-over hot rod that speaks relatively softly and carries a big stick. The color is exactly right for a car like this, not too flashy and subtle enough not to be noticed. It ideally captures the spirit of the times and stands out today for those of us who like a bit of nostalgia with our old cars. And while the Valiant was technically an economy car, this one has had a bunch of time spent getting it into shape, both externally and under the hood. For a '71 Valiant, this one must have been pretty clean to begin with, which is a rare thing all on its own. It was repainted just last year and the finish has a deep shine that shows well, and it wasn't over-restored to perfection, but rather cleaned up and sprayed to give it a no-worries look that's appealing. The doors fit well, the quarters are smooth, and there's a gold undertone to the paint that only comes out when the light is just right. The chrome and trim is probably original and looking its age, with some light pitting on the bumpers, but again, as a low-dollar machine, this one has a lot going for it. The basic theme continues inside with a new black bench seat interior, complete with new carpets and door panels. Sure, the carpets might be a little more plush than original, but nobody complains about an upgrade, and even as a value-priced entry, this Valiant comes complete with a full array of informative gauges from the factory. The woodgrained applique on the instrument panel is a bit scuffed and scratched, but other than that the interior is in very good condition and we've always liked Chrysler's 3-spoke steering wheel, with this one wearing a leather wrap. There is no radio but that only means it's ready for the head unit of your choice and the rest is street-racer basic: crank windows, column shifter, and only a heater and defroster. The trunk is surprisingly large for a compact car like this, and carries a brand new mat. Going fast on a budget was its motto then, and it still holds true today, offering a ton of bang for the buck. A 318 cubic inch V8 is a welcome sight under the Valiant's hood, and this isn't some stock wheezer. Upgraded with a big Holley 4-barrel and aluminum intake, a big cam inside, and a set of factory HP exhaust manifolds, it's got a big hit of torque at any speed. Supporting equipment includes a big radiator, a fresh battery, and a fresh dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers polished oval tips peeking out under the rear bumper. A few chrome dress-up parts make it look suitably sporty and the painted engine bay shows that the car was comprehensively disassembled for paint. It still carries a 3-speed automatic with a fresh torque converter, as well as the original rear end, and there's also a new gas tank hanging out back, front disc brakes, and air shocks in back. 14-inch Rallye wheels offer a classic performance look and wear fat 245/60/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials. This neat little car is the perfect sleeper with V8 power in an unassuming package.
