Factory-correct colors, period Correct J-Code 426ci Hemi V8, A727 Torqueflite transmission, 3.23 rear axle. This 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner is a Galen Govier-documented example that is presented in factory-correct colors and correct Hemi V8 under the hood. This Road Runner is the product of a no-expense-spared rotisserie restoration in the late-1990s and shows in superb condition. The odometer shows what is believed to be 69,587 original miles, and the car has known only four owners for nearly 25 years. According to Govier documentation, this Road Runner left the Lynch Road, Michigan, plant on March 31, 1969 in Black Velvet over Black and equipped with arguably the most-desirable motor available during the Muscle Car Era: a dual 4BBL 426ci/425hp Hemi V8. This Road Runner was also equipped with an A727 Torqueflite transmission (only 12 Hemi Road Runners were produced in Black Velvet with a 727 Torqueflite) and N96 Carb Fresh Air Package that added an Air Grabber hood. This Road Runner also left the factory with front disc brakes, a 3.23 rear axle, black vinyl bucket seats, wood-grain center console and power windows. Restored in the 1990's, this Road Runner is presented in factory-correct Black Velvet/Black color combination, sporting painted 15" steel wheels with dog dish hubs and red line bias-ply radial tires. Under the hood is a non-numbers matching, but period-correct J-Code 426ci/425hp Hemi V8 engine that drives what is believed to be the original A727 Torqueflite transmission and 3.23 rear axle. The interior was impeccably restored with correct black vinyl buckets, wood grain console and manual roll-up windows in lieu of the correct power lifts for a more dragster-style setup. Govier documentation is on file and included with this Road Runner, as well as an organized 2" binder containing extensive service and restoration receipts. This Road Runner is a rare example that shows in fantastic condition throughout. With a world-record sale in June 2014, Hemi-powered Mopars are appreciating value rapidly, and this Hemi Road Runner is a solid investment opportunity.
