1969 Plymouth Fury III 2 DR hardtop, 383, 4BBL, Dual Exhaust *"Buy it now" price includes a 2nd 440V8 and 727 Auto trans!! This car is a nice, affordable piece of Mopar history, this 69 Fury was a special order sold by Friedman Motors in Des Moines Iowa on August 8, 1969. The car was ordered in Mopar B5 blue, with some chrome add-ons, and equipped with the 383 V8. I have much of the paperwork history and repair bills for this car, the engine was overhauled by L&S Auto, Des Moines at 102,475MI and the car has been through at least 2 other owners prior to me purchasing it with 117,000 miles on it. I had purchased the car in 2009 in good running condition and drove it home 120 miles the day I bought it. Once I became the new owner I went through the car and had done several things to make the car more reliable. Currently the car has about 120,000 miles on it and clear title, it also has many new parts and is a good running and driving car. I am selling simply to free up some storage and I have not driven the car as often as I was hoping. This would be an excellent car for anyone looking to be able to have a Saturday night car they can drive and tinker with on the same day. THE GOOD:New TiresSolid Suspension, new ball joints on passenger sideNew Brakes, cylinders, and hoses on frontNew shoes on rearNew radiator and heater hosesNew Plugs/wiresRebuilt CarbAll paperwork from original bill of sale, dealership promotional info, and a stack of repair reciepts included. Click the "buy it now" and for insurance I'll throw in a replacement 440V8 #400630(with 19,000mi on rebuild and oiled up for storage) and 727 Auto Trans that were both working fine when pulled from a 1977 New Yorker. THE BAD:The car has had both new rear quarter panels replaced and there have been patch panels installed in the trunk floor where some small rust holes had developed. The passenger/interior floor boards are solid ad the door bottom edges have some minor surface rust. There is some collision damage on the rear passenger fender that is not straight (see pic). I have taken a magnet all over this car and have found metal behind any suspected filler areas. The rear trunk lid interior has some visible rust and there is some paint peeling on the interior of the hood (see pics). The area around the rear window trim has some rust behind it that will likely be coming through the paint behind the trim at some point depending on how much weather this car sees. As a result the windshield and rear window trim was never placed on properly and is tacked with silicone glue with the idea that it would be removed easily to deal the potential rust issue, as of today I have not done anything with it but it does look a little "crooked" because it is not held with the snaps. Inside fender gaps on the rear wheel wells were rusted and are now sealed with putty between the exterior & inside fenders(I could not find any interior sheet metal for this car) The paint is 2 stage base/clear and a nice match to the original B5 Blue. The color coat has a nice level high metallic that really pops in the sunlight, the clear coat however appears to have gone on dry on much of the car and was never cut & buffed. As a result the car has some orange peel that could use some attention and there are a couple runs that could be sanded out. I liked the look of the paint as the orange peel made a duller look that was more era correct, so never had the desire to do much with it, but others might so I'm letting everyone know because we all have our standards.Fuel Gauge has a lazy needle, it tells you when the tank is empty, but will read 1/2 or so when fullTransmission drips a little when parked, likely a pan gasket or selector shaft seal common on the Mopar 727sAir conditioning does not workSmall vibration @50mph from having to move a wheel weight to accommodate one of the chrome wheel trim rings.Ashtray has some rattles that I have not tried to fixDriver's seat and center had some tears that have been covered in blue tape(see pics)Cracks in dash and steering wheel, also rear deck has some deterioration from sunlightThere are two rear trim pieces that are still the original color and slightly mismatchedI am not trying to represent this as a show car & am trying to give an honest assessment of what I know about this car. I have driven this car on several occasions and taken some 100+mi trips with it without any issues. This is a nice old Fury but with a rare sporty look to it, it looks, sounds, and feels like a 60's muscle car but at a very affordable price when compared to the road runners, chargers etc. In my travels I have found it to be a one of a kind car that draws attention wherever it is parked. I have just lost time and space to bring it back to the condition I feel it could be in if owned by the right person. Feel free to ask questions or request more details.

For sale, one 1969 Plymouth Fury III 2 Door Hardtop with 383 4BBl dual exhaust I purchased this car a few years back as a neat old classic that I could drive during the summer months. I bought the car after it was stored for several years and replaced several items to make the car more reliable such as belts/hoses, plugs/wires, brakes, and new ball joints on the passenger side and changed the fluids. The car also has new tires that have about 1500mi on them. I currently drive this car a few times a week and have not had any problems and consider the car to be reliable. The car is 45 years old and has some flaws, the car has had some body work and paint. Both rear quarters have been replaced and there are patch panels in the trunk pan.
