2015-11-29 254 1969 PLYMOUTH FURY III 2 DOOR COUPE 383 4V SURVIVOR CAR LIKE A ROADRUNNER This listing is for a 1969 Plymouth Fury III we received on trade. This is a definite survivor car. 74,000 original miles. Cosmetically it is in very nice shape. It is in OK running/driving condition with a clean and clear title. It has been in storage for 10 years. Original California black plate car. Please read the description carefully before placing a bid and feel free to contact me with any inquiries you may have regarding this Fury. The body is perfectly straight. No bondo or wavy panels here. Original paint is in very nice shape and has been recently cut and polished to a nice shine. The top was replaced due to original top being sun faded. The chrome and stainless is complete in very nice shape. All of the glass is complete in beautiful shape. There is some minor rust bubbling on the drivers side just below the back glass (please see photos). Undercarriage is clean, no undercoating, no body rot. Trunk is nice with original spare, bumper jack assembly and trunk mat. The motor is the very desirable original Chrysler 383 V8 4 barrel with 727 Torqflite automatic transmission. The transmission was rebuilt and the engine had some head work done before being stored. It also had a Holley 750, new distributor and new radiator installed before storage. It runs OK, could use some fine tuning and some TLC to run better. Factory power drum brakes front and rear have been inpected and have good shoes, vehicle stops nicely. Power steering works good, steers nicely, doesn't pull. Suspension is all factory with the exception of heavy duty rear shackles. Its rolling on some period correct American Racing 15x7 Slotted Mags with 215/75/15 BF Goodrich tires. Interior is very nice condition. Original seats and headliner were reupholstered due to sun fading. New seat belts were also installed. Carpet, door panels and dash are all original. ? Everything on this car functions as it should. All lights, radio, clock, gauges, heater, and vacuum controlled vent work.Mechanicals are excellent, the car drives and brakes beautifully. All mechanicals function properly. Negatives: slight wrinkle on passenger door panel, adhesive-like blemish on passenger door panel, some minor dings to exterior paint, some paint scratches on dash board. Areas of missing paint on steering wheel due to wear. Small section of headliner bow under driver side visor has been repaired with silver tape. Some small tears in rear driver side seat arm rest. The story that I was told on this car by the president of the Plymouth Owners Club of Minnesota is that it was stored for the first 6 years of it's life due to early repossession of the car. Thank you for viewing my 67 Fury 2 I purchased this vehicle from the son of the original owner in Oregon last year, where we removed it from inside his airplane hanger for the first time in many, many years. After making the Fury road worthy I drove it 6 hrs home to California. I made a few upgrades to suit my preference including adding new Edelbrock performer intake and 14063 carburetor. I paid a bit more for the powder coated black versions of both. Added a nice dual exhaust from manifolds back with an H pipe and flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Almost silent at idle, a nice low deep rumble during normal acceleration, and if you want to get noticed just lay your foot into it, not obnoxious just a great sound. The Fury has new tires, 4 new shocks, replaced front wheel bearings, new master cylinder, turned brake drums, and new rear springs. Fuel tank gone through and new fuel pump added. Replaced heater hoses along with upper/lower radiator hoses. I noticed oil leaking from timing cover and decided to use this time to replace timing chain with a double roller,replaced cover and painted, removed oil pan cleaned to like new then painted pan, replaced water pump and painted. Note - original intake, air cleaner and carburetor will be included. All features and functions are in working condition including original am radio, interior and exterior lights, as well as the horn. An extra pair of hub caps will come with the Fury, the originals and the ones shown on vehicle now. Interior is serious time capsule condition with zero flaws. Please zoom on pictures for overall condition of exterior, very few signs of use and very straight. Vehicle needs a new power steering pump and an alignment. I can and will assist after the sale with transport and the Fury can stay in my garage for up to one month after sale date. Any time longer there wont be storage fees but the vehicle will be moved outside. I have too many other finished and project cars for the amount of space I have. This car should be loved and pampered by somebody else. This is a space age modern classic to the highest order! A Virgil Exner masterpiece. I bought it from the estate of the second owner. I looked up the original owner and it turns out he was a Colonel in the Army and led a tank battalion that took the Rhine in France and Germany in WWII. The car has always been in Southern California and is bone dry and straight. There was a little repair on a small dint on the trunk lid but everything else is straight. The interior is all original and the panels are still under plastic. This is obviously the best color combo this top of the line Sport Fury could possibly come in. With 100% of all trim there and the car running well, this the perfect platform to restore to code and have the best 59 2 door hardtop around. The color, fabric, owner badge and so Cal black plates make it the coolest. My "buy it now" price is under value, but I need the space for projects coming out of paint and body in the coming weeks. Do your research. This is a sports car in 1959 and it still has tons of power. It drives better than any GM or Ford product of the same vintage. And when was the last time you saw one if ever. We are selling a 1966 Plymouth Fury III Convertible. The car has been garaged the last 25 years and is in great shape for it's age. This is a runner/driver car but will need some work, it is really the perfect project car. Drive it while you work on it! It comes with the super reliable 318 poly engine and the legendary 727 torqueflite transmission. When we got the car it had been sitting for about 15 years in a garage (NOT a barn). The previous owner had lower quarters and trunk extensions put in but the person working on it never really finished it which is why the 1/4's still have some primer on them. The top was put on new just before it was parked and is still in pretty good shape. The car needs a little love but it is super hard to find project convertibles this nice anymore. Most have rusty 1/4's or trashed interiors, this has neither. These things have such a nice ride with the super long wheelbase and torsion bar suspension.
