She is basically a Professionally-built (Skippy Did It) rolling chassis certified to 7.50 in the quarter. New “Replacement 1964 Max Wedge Block” assembled (this year) and dynoed. This 1964 426ci Max Wedge Stage III motor makes 528HP at the crank. Complete machine shop documentation is included. Motor has ONLY DYNO RUN TIME. Over $15k invested in the motor alone. Pro-built 727 trans with 4300 stall converter and all new center section with 4:30 gears. Car needs to be finished and a lot of parts are included along with clear OHIO title. TRUE 1964 426 Max Wedge Stage III motor. This is a TRUE 1964 Replacement Chrysler short block that had been sitting for years and only recently was assembled. Has the stage III crank, rods, heads and intake.Most of the body panels are fiberglass but the metal body was soda-blasted and the entire body shot in epoxy primer. Chassis done by Skippy Did It and was built to run a 7.50 index. It has not been certified. You are bidding on a stunning freshly-built 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. The car is a triple black beauty that is super-solid and straight! It has a very deep, wet-looking black paint job. The engine is a $9k High-Performance machine-shop-built 440ci six pack with receipts (no expense spared). It also has a rebuilt 727 trans with a mild converter and an 8¾ 3:91 posi from a 69 Super Bee. It has an all-new interior and all the brite work is either new or rechromed. Most of the wiring, brakes and fuel systems are new. This is one mean MOPAR! It just sits there shaking at the traffic lights! Freaking awesome! The car drives excellent and will smoke the tires without a problem! Words can’t completely describe how nice this ride is! Fly in Drive it home! The rich black paint has excellent depth with no swirl marks or fading. Body gaps are very nice throughout the car. The body has never been in an accident and the floor seating area is original with no replacement panels needed. The car was pretty solid when I purchased it 2014. The back window leaked causing the trunk pan to rust out in several places and there was the typical rust on the quarters. A new one piece trunk floor was installed. New full quarters were installed and only the outer wheel houses needed to be replaced. Most of the welds were spot welded just like the factory. I have many pics of the car during restoration, just send me email and I'll send you some. The driver fender is NOS. The passenger fender is a rust-free southern piece. Inner front fenders are the originals. Hood is new. Doors and deck lid were from a donor car from the south. The deck lid lip is solid! Not like most that rot away and have repairs made. All the bright work is either new or rechromed. (new grill and bezels, new bumpers, moldings and mirrors, etc). Even the vent windows were rechromed, most people skip this step due to the expense, not here! All new weatherstripping throughout. A new windshield was installed but the rest of the tinted glass is in nice condition and original to the car. All the doors close just like factory. All the windows work as they should. A new NOS vinyl top was installed along with new moldings. Interior: The whole black interior is NEW and in excellent condition. The dash pad, dash with gauges and wiring are all the original pieces from the car and were just restored not replaced. The car was originally a bench seat car but it’s a bucket seat style now with an all-new automatic console and new seat belts. Everything works… horn, lights, directionals, E-brake, wipers, heater, etc except what’s noted below.There are no power drains! It's like a NEW CAR! New single DIN radio was fitted along with a twin front dash speaker and 2 rear 6x9 speakers. Drivetrain: The best of everything went into this motor. A total of $9,000 was spent on the 1973 440ci long block and another $2,000 in the all new tri-power set up (I have a detailed receipt from machine shop). The block was bored, line-honed and magnafluxed. All forged internals were installed. The heads are a matching pair from 1967. All new stainless steel valves, guides, springs, retainers and locks, were installed. New cam, timing chain and brass freeze plugs. Transmission is a rebuilt 727 with a new mild stall converter. Rearend is an 8 ¾ posi with 3:91 gears. New alternator, fuel pump, water pump, radiator, battery, distributor and performance ignition system. Oh yes its fast! It has the very distinctive MOPAR sound and idle Undercarriage: Restored and painted gloss black. Floors and frame are in excellent condition. No rust, rot or damage. Show-quality-looking undercarriage. The exhaust system is new ceramic-coated headers with an all-stainless-steel “H” pipe Flow Master system. New fuel tank with new sender and larger 3/8” fuel line installed. It still has the stock steering system and has a stock drum brake system which was all rebuilt and stops really well. Emergency brakes work! New shocks and U-joints. New 235/55ZR17 front and 255/50ZR17 rear tires mounted on Custom 17” Magnum style wheels. This car was put together by an high-end builder but the price is far below a typical high-end $80,000 Mopar build. The car was originally a Sport Satellite (have the build sheet) and was restored to a Roadrunner appearance. The original car was a 318ci 2bbl with auto trans and 7.5 rearend. Original Options included: AC, PS, tach dash, fender lights, tinted glass, trunk light, vinyl top and 2 speed wiper. Items to Note: Comes with Clear Ohio title and 2 sets of key.Have all receipts for the build.New sunvisors and shoulder seat belts go with the car but are not installed. The car had AC, the system is still intact under the dash but all the under the hood parts were gone and were not replaced. Only a couple of things don’t work, original tach, cancel cam tab for a right turn signal must be broken since it doesn't cancel after a turn. And the speedo is not working. Also I had to modify the six pack air cleaner to clear the 2 speed wiper motor. The wiper motor should be a single speed for the air cleaner to clear.The motor runs on 93 octane and you will need to tune the motor for area in which you live! And they were getting expensive, with big block Camaros crowding the price of a Corvette and things like the 427 Ford Galaxie costing as much as a Buick. So Chrysler got smart and introduced the Road Runner, a no-holds-barred street fighter if ever there was one and expressly designed for young folks on a budget. Was it a success? You’d better believe it! In fact, they sold three times as many as they expected in the first year, and eight months into it, the Dodge boys saw what a runaway hit it was and trotted out their Super Bee version of the formula. After all, with a standard big block, standard 4-speed, and precious little else, it took bang for the buck to an entirely new level. But just because the Road Runner was affordable, that didn’t necessarily mean it was cheap. This lovely 1968 Road Runner proves that big performance can also be attractive, functional, and comfortable. Wearing a correct coat of Light Yellow paint (this car’s original color), it stands out among its more brightly painted siblings and the combination of the yellow paint and black roof is classic. Actually, if you check the fender tag, you’ll see that it originally had a green top, which might be too much ‘60s funk today. The factory A/C is kind of a big deal, but then you notice that it’s also manual steering and manual brakes (which have been upgraded, more on that in a moment). The color combination is actually very attractive and is accentuated by a single black pinstripe that highlights the gentle ‘Coke bottle” shape of the fenders. It received a very high-quality rotisserie restoration not too long ago and the quality is excellent throughout. In fact, the more we look at this car, the more appealing it gets because there’s simply nothing that lets you down. The paint has just the right shine, the doors fit extremely well and don’t need a big slam to latch properly, the vinyl top isn’t wrinkled, and it neatly balances beauty and brawn without being an extrovert. We believe that the driver’s side quarter panel has been replaced, but otherwise it appears to be all original sheetmetal, and one glance at the floors proves that this was never, ever a rusty car. It’s seriously nice. The fender tag also says this car original had a green interior, and while that might have been OK, the combination of the parchment and green it currently wears is absolutely gorgeous. It’s sophisticated and elegant, not basic as you’d expect, and the pearly-white seat covers are brand new and in excellent condition. The door panels, dash pad, headliner, and carpets are also fairly recent and it all works together to create a very upscale-looking driver’s compartment. The options list includes a tachometer in the dash, and with that you got a full complement of auxiliary gauges, all of which are functional and show bright, crisp markings and clear lenses. The mileage shown, 2177, is probably since the restoration was completed so it’s still quite fresh. As I mentioned, this one is remarkable in that it has factory A/C, and the system has been recently restored and is fully operational with good old R12 refrigerant inside. A 4-speed transmission was standard equipment, and this one is equipped with a Hurst shifter so it’s a blast to run it through the gears. The original AM radio is still in the dash and there’s a speaker in back, but it doesn’t appear to be functional, but it’s the only component on the whole car that isn’t working. The back seat looks completely unused and there’s a set of neat color-matched floor mats to keep things looking tidy. Even the trunk is properly dressed with a reproduction mat and a correct redline bias-ply spare tire that’s never been used, plus a complete jack assembly. And one look under the trunk mat will prove that this was never a rusty car. The standard engine on the Road Runner was definitely a runner, a 383 cubic inch V8 that was unique to the Road Runner. Putting out a very stout 335 horsepower, it makes the relatively lightweight Road Runner a genuine threat on the street. And while the Hemis get all the glory, I actually prefer the 383’s road manners, because it likes to rev, has a great mid-range punch, and is bulletproof reliable. This one was rebuilt to stock specs and runs beautifully using a single 4-barrel carburetor and factory distributor (now with a Pertronix unit inside), cackling through a set of cast iron exhaust manifolds and a dual exhaust system. The A/C compressor dominates the top of the engine bay, but the cool wrinkle-finish air cleaner wears proper Road Runner decals and there’s corporate turquoise engine enamel on the block. Looking closely, you’ll see that all the hoses and wires are new, the wiring harness has been replaced, the radiator is fresh, and, well, it’s pretty close to new. There are a few signs of use, such as the slightly crusty exhaust manifolds and some burned engine paint near the EGR tubes on the intake manifold, but this engine bay isn’t too far from being ready to show. As I mentioned earlier, this car came with manual steering and brakes, but in 2010, the Mopar experts at Hodge Restorations in South Carolina were tapped to install factory-style front disc brakes, a new master cylinder, and a complete OEM power steering setup, so it’s a fantastic road car today. At the same time, they installed a new clutch, a new shifter, turned the flywheel, and added the aforementioned Pertronix setup. $4800 later, this is one sweet-running, totally sorted Road Runner. You’ll also note that the floors are incredibly clean, wearing factory-style primer and a bit of overspray, the suspension has been detailed, and the rear axle (which has 3.23 gears inside) wears factory-style paint markings, just in case you want to show it. A new gas tank, new lines and hoses, and a set of 14-inch Magnum 500 wheels with recent 245/60/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials round out the list of things you don’t have to worry about. Paperwork includes an original owner’s manual and some dealer brochures, and the car comes with a fitted heavy-duty cover for storage. The more we look at this Road Runner, the more we like it. There aren’t many cars in our inventory that are nicer and the unusual color combination and options group makes it a fun footnote for Mopar numbers guys. The fact that it’s also totally sorted and an excellent driver is merely icing on the cake. A first rate car with exactly zero disappointments. So Chrysler got smart and introduced the Road Runner, a no-holds-barred street fighter if ever there was one and expressly designed for young folks on a budget. Was it a success? You’d better believe it! In fact, they sold three times as many as they expected in the first year, and eight months into it, the Dodge boys saw what a runaway hit it was and trotted out their Super Bee version of the formula. After all, with a standard big block, standard 4-speed, and precious little else, it took bang for the buck to an entirely new level. But just because the Road Runner was affordable, that didn’t necessarily mean it was cheap. Actually, if you check the fender tag, you’ll see that it originally had a green top, which might be too much ‘60s funk today. The factory A/C is kind of a big deal, but then you notice that it’s also manual steering and manual brakes (which have been upgraded, more on that in a moment). The color combination is actually very attractive and is accentuated by a single black pinstripe that highlights the gentle ‘Coke bottle” shape of the fenders. It received a very high-quality rotisserie restoration not too long ago and the quality is excellent throughout. In fact, the more we look at this car, the more appealing it gets because there’s simply nothing that lets you down. The paint has just the right shine, the doors fit extremely well and don’t need a big slam to latch properly, the vinyl top isn’t wrinkled, and it neatly balances beauty and brawn without being an extrovert. We believe that the driver’s side quarter panel has been replaced, but otherwise it appears to be all original sheetmetal, and one glance at the floors proves that this was never, ever a rusty car. It’s seriously nice. The fender tag also says this car original had a green interior, and while that might have been OK, the combination of the parchment and green it currently wears is absolutely gorgeous. It’s sophisticated and elegant, not basic as you’d expect, and the pearly-white seat covers are brand new and in excellent condition. The door panels, dash pad, headliner, and carpets are also fairly recent and it all works together to create a very upscale-looking driver’s compartment. The options list includes a tachometer in the dash, and with that you got a full complement of auxiliary gauges, all of which are functional and show bright, crisp markings and clear lenses. The mileage shown, 2177, is probably since the restoration was completed so it’s still quite fresh. As I mentioned, this one is remarkable in that it has factory A/C, and the system has been recently restored and is fully operational with good old R12 refrigerant inside. A 4-speed transmission was standard equipment, and this one is equipped with a Hurst shifter so it’s a blast to run it through the gears. The original AM radio is still in the dash and there’s a speaker in back, but it doesn’t appear to be functional, but it’s the only component on the whole car that isn’t working. The back seat looks completely unused and there’s a set of neat color-matched floor mats to keep things looking tidy. Even the trunk is properly dressed with a reproduction mat and a correct redline bias-ply spare tire that’s never been used, plus a complete jack assembly. And one look under the trunk mat will prove that this was never a rusty car. The standard engine on the Road Runner was definitely a runner, a 383 cubic inch V8 that was unique to the Road Runner. Putting out a very stout 335 horsepower, it makes the relatively lightweight Road Runner a genuine threat on the street. And while the Hemis get all the glory, I actually prefer the 383’s road manners, because it likes to rev, has a great mid-range punch, and is bulletproof reliable. This one was rebuilt to stock specs and runs beautifully using a single 4-barrel carburetor and factory distributor (now with a Pertronix unit inside), cackling through a set of cast iron exhaust manifolds and a dual exhaust system. The A/C compressor dominates the top of the engine bay, but the cool wrinkle-finish air cleaner wears proper Road Runner decals and there’s corporate turquoise engine enamel on the block. Looking closely, you’ll see that all the hoses and wires are new, the wiring harness has been replaced, the radiator is fresh, and, well, it’s pretty close to new. There are a few signs of use, such as the slightly crusty exhaust manifolds and some burned engine paint near the EGR tubes on the intake manifold, but this engine bay isn’t too far from being ready to show. As I mentioned earlier, this car came with manual steering and brakes, but in 2010, the Mopar experts at Hodge Restorations in South Carolina were tapped to install factory-style front disc brakes, a new master cylinder, and a complete OEM power steering setup, so it’s a fantastic road car today. At the same time, they installed a new clutch, a new shifter, turned the flywheel, and added the aforementioned Pertronix setup. $4800 later, this is one sweet-running, totally sorted Road Runner. You’ll also note that the floors are incredibly clean, wearing factory-style primer and a bit of overspray, the suspension has been detailed, and the rear axle (which has 3.23 gears inside) wears factory-style paint markings, just in case you want to show it. A new gas tank, new lines and hoses, and a set of 14-inch Magnum 500 wheels with recent 245/60/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials round out the list of things you don’t have to worry about. Paperwork includes an original owner’s manual and some dealer brochures, and the car comes with a fitted heavy-duty cover for storage. The more we look at this Road Runner, the more we like it. There aren’t many cars in our inventory that are nicer and the unusual color combination and options group makes it a fun footnote for Mopar numbers guys. The fact that it’s also totally sorted and an excellent driver is merely icing on the cake. A first rate car with exactly zero disappointments.
