And with only 67,418 original miles, this gorgeous car is barely broken in! 1992 was a good year for the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. The convertible was restyled with a new front end that had a narrow three-pod per side design inspired by the Alfa Romero SZ. This new aggressive face sets the tone nicely for the sleek design lines and factory bodykit. It all looks particularly nice on this example that is so well preserved it can qualify for survivor status at most car shows. In fact, survivor is exactly how to describe this Olds ragtop. It appears to have all of its main factory equipment still in place, including the white paint with burgundy pinstripe, original 16-inch wheels, and even the pristine white top. Just like the exterior, the interior is amazingly pristine, too. The burgundy color that covers nearly every inch inside looks amazing, and it matches the pinstripe on the exterior for an added premium touch. Oldsmobile is a luxury brand, and so you get plenty of amenities. It starts with the leather seats that show no sun damage and nearly zero seat time a near miracle in a convertible that's going to pass the quarter-century mark soon. Other features include power windows, power locks, keyless entry, anti-lock brakes, power mirrors, cruise control, and power convertible top. Oldsmobile was adding revolutionary features for its time, and the driver had full control of the AM/FM/cassette stereo and automatic climate control from buttons on the steering wheel. Under the hood is the original 3.1-liter V6 motor, and as you can easily see, this one looks as clean and pristine as the rest of this Cutlass. It fires up with a quicker response than a teenager's text message, and it has more pep than a case of energy drinks. That's the true key to Oldsmobile's appeal in the 1990s. It was able to have comfortable features like the three-speed automatic transmission and power steering, but it was wrapped up with sporty package with a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. It highlights the regal tones of the Royal Blue by repeating it in the details such as the side trim and the steel wheels (a first year feature on an Oldsmobile.) Heat is a nice feature, and ventilation is no problem with a roll down rear window. Of course that feature also helps you talk to anyone you might have in the back, too. The rumble seat doesn't match the interior gray. Instead the blue vinyl coordinates with the exterior color so it looks perfect going down a parade route. With amazing pinstriping on the outside, and a very clean interior inside, this is the type of car you'll want to put straight into your collection. Then there's a heavily upgraded Rocket V8 under the hood, too. So let's just hope you can get through reading all of the details before someone else snatches this one up. The paint on this coupe is one of the most interesting you'll ever find. It combines a nice luster of light blue and has a few rat rod touches to it as well. This might seem a bit odd to a few people but the red pinstriping completes this whole package in a way that an interesting artistic expression only can. The reason why it's so artful is the previous owner, a pinstripe professional, did all the intricate detail work. This is a rolling showcase of his talent, and it's pretty impressive with bright red stripes that highlight each of the trim pieces. But if you look a little closer you'll see trick features like the hand-painted air vents on the rear fenders that mirror those under the headlights. This Olds has plenty of other hot rod touches such as the Dietrich windshield visor, spotlights, vented hood, and red steelies behind the bright hubcaps and wheel trim. But underneath all these cool details is a well restored vehicle that has straight bodylines and complete trim with great chrome. The interior was restored and doesn't stray too far from the original formula. The velour seating surfaces offer a level of comfort that's a cut above most other hot rod's vinyl. Matching light blue carpets were fitted and give the car an upscale feeling and there's a correct headliner overhead. The original steering wheel offers just about the coolest horn button we've ever seen, further cementing Oldsmobile's fascination with the jet age. The dash is a wonderfully simple setup with a round instrument panel and a neat row of knobs on either side. Auxiliary gauges were installed under the dash to monitor the Rocket V8 and there's an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit for entertainment purposes. The trunk is neatly finished and remarkably spacious under that fastback roofline, so it's ready to cruise. The reason why the engine bay looks ready for the car show is not only because all the belts, wires, and hoses look new, but also the whole Oldsmobile 324 cubic inch OHV V8 benefits from a full rebuild in 2010. There were vintage speed parts added to the restoration that included the Rochester J2 factory tri-power setup that boldly sits on top of this V8. These look especially good with the finned classic Offenhauser valve covers. The electrical system is upgraded to 12 volts with an alternator, but the rest remains the way GM built it in 1950. All of this is backed by a rodder's favorite HydraMatic automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2012. With 3.36 gears out back, it's happy to cruise at 65 MPH without working very hard, and it always feels punchy around town with a great hit of low-end torque. The custom dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers offers a retro sound, and the big wide whitewalls makes it look like it's ready to cruise the boulevard. This is a bold hot rod with so many custom touches that people can't help but stop and stare. If you're quick enough, this amazingly affordable classic Olds can be yours. This was built at the dawn of The Great Depression, but Oldsmobile refused to lose its flair. The Venetian Blue has been updated over this car's long lifetime, but that's hard to tell because it's always been done with period-correct lacquer. The white pinstripe helps set up the great-looking whitewall tires and white spoke wheels. Plus, one of the best-looking features of this era was having the spare tire mounted within the front fender, and this one has it on both sides so everyone can admire this premium touch. The black fenders complete the right appearance for this period, but this also gets the premium treatment with the optional matching trunk hanging off the rear. The front end looks distinctive with dual horns and amber accessory lights. Even the brightwork is done perfectly. It's beginning to show a bit of patina so that everyone at the car show knows you are trying to keep this rolling art as original as possible. Open the suicide doors, and it still looks like 1931 inside. The cloth was replaced a while ago just enough to erase decades of use, but long enough time has passed so peering eyes will likely assume its all original. It's tan color, intricate pattern, and opera lighting in the rear once again feels like this car was out to buck the Depression feeling. The dash panel has the same great blue as the exterior, and each pod of the full gauge package looks like a miniature sculpture. More importantly, how often did you get readouts for water, oil, and power back in the early '30s? Classic motoring also means a large grippy steering wheel and real wood in the trim. Under the hood is exactly the kind of engine bay you'd expect from a time machine that's approaching its 85th birthday. The 197 cubic-inch straight six motor show all signs of being original, and the dark green paint sets it off nicely for the car shows without being too flashy. This car has barely crested 25,000 original miles (believed to be), which means it has some interesting potential for the ultimate survivor title. But then again, this car is for more than just being fun while parked. This classic Olds is a true runner with a three-speed manual transmission that's geared to get you around town with ease, and even the gas tank was swapped for a new stainless steel one to keep everything running smoothly.
