1971 MG - MGBGT V8 Street Legal Competition Car. ROAD ROCKET! MGBGT 3.5L Olds Aluminum V8. Fast, Furious – and Fun! Miles: 30000+ Body Type: Coupe Transmission: Manual 5-Speed Engine: 8 Interior: Black Warranty: No Year: 1971 Title: Clear VIN Number: -- Condition: Used Exterior: White Fuel Type: Gasoline Inspection: -- This is a street legal MGB-GT with a competition prepared 3.5L Aluminum Olds V8. An amazing feat of automotive engineering, it was designed and built between 1999 and 2002 by a Honda Automotive Engineer, for Autocross Racing, and was "upgraded" (downgraded?) to street legal. It has been very well maintained. The builder has a collection of trophies won against 302 Cobras, V6 Sprites, and many other modified cars. The entire build is documented in a photo album (included) along with most of the receipts. This is not a luxury sportscar, or a maintenance-free disposable import. It is a solid car, low to the ground, with character - and a power to weight ratio to launch you into low-earth orbit. It rides like a race car. It drives like a race car. All of these are GOOD things. It was built for performance, not luxury. It is not “perfect” (except for the thrill of driving it!). It is not new, it is not pristine, it is used, but well maintained. This will be apparent in the pictures. Below is a short list of what the builder did (photo album included): Drive train: 3.5L Olds aluminum block (engine built in 2005) 11:1 38cc Olds aluminum heads Balanced rotating assembly including flywheel, pressure plate, and harmonic balancer New re-vulcanized harmonic balancer (purchased before balancing) Flywheel lightened from 32lbs to 17lbs Crower 50231 stage 3 cam and lifters Higher set load Comp Cams valve springs with new retainers and locks Edelbrock adjustable double roller timing set ARP Main studs, and rod bolts 5.0 Mustang performance street clutch and pressure plate Custom Polyurethane Engine and transmission mounts Hydraulic engine damper to limit rock ’96 Ford World Class T5 5-speed transmission New Howe HTOB GM 3 wire alternator Custom made oil pan with 7-quart capacity, baffles and trap doors to control oil slosh New Metric V6 Oil pump with remote filter mount Holly 450 mechanical secondary chokeless carb with 4-bbl manifold Custom 4-2-1 side exhaust with glasspacks under rocker panels Foam filled fuel tank with enlarged pickup.
