Full disclosure: I love this car. Every time I return from a blast into town or through the back roads I ask myself again: Why am I selling this???? In truth it's purely practical. Recent events have necessitated that my family move from the East Coast out West and I'm faced with the difficult choice of whether to store or ship, both at great price and inconvenience to our situation. So the best case scenario is to try and turn this little beast over to someone who can properly care for it. I've done the critical and safety required fixes....the rest is up to you. What is it? Pure analog driving excitement. A custom steel "barchetta" body covers a stock 1.8L MG power plant. That engine alone is no big deal, but considering that maximum lightness has been added, the power-to-excitement ratio is well up there. Couple that with the Weber carb and short, drivers-side exit Magnaflow 2" custom straightpipe, and at night and you're likely to see flames popping from the exhaust. Top it all off with the glorious burbles, pops and braaaaaaaps on aggressive gear changes and you'll soon picture yourself on the final run from Roma to Brescia rather than the reality of Safeway to Lowes. Truth: I tailed a 911 GT3 around the back roads near me last week. He tapped his throttle and launched away, disappearing along the leaf-stewn blacktop. I mashed the gas and took up chase, a howling roar rocketing off the trees as I touched the redline with every gear change. He allowed me to catch up before taking off again, and there I was, in hot pursuit, late braking, heel-toe downshifting, blipping the throttle and making the car snort and spit before late apexing corner after corner and trying to contain a safe amount of drift. In 10 minutes it was over and we were back to the main road where he flicked a wave and disappeared. The BEST PART? I don't think I cracked 60 mph the whole time and by the end, my heart was pounding, my ears ringing, and my eyes stinging. For his part I'm fairly sure he spent the whole time driving with one hand while tuning his Sirius radio and checking his Facebook status with the other. Sure his car cost six figures more than mine, but who experienced more pure driving excitement? In closing, this car isn't perfect, yet. Someone can make this a wonderful winter project while still being able to drive it as the weather permits. But if you're a little mechanically able or know someone who is, this one-of-a-kind machine is your ticket to driving bliss. 1977 MGB, stock drivetrain: 1.8L engine with 4 speed transmission (no O/D). Lowered to pre-1974 height. Brand new front brake pads and rear shoes. Competition gutted interior, Magnaflow 2" straightpipe with driver's side exit exhaust. Weber carb, custom machined dash, aircraft seats, 4pt harnesses driver and passenger. Brooklands windscreens. Relocated Monza-type fuel filler cap. No top or tonneau, but holes for tonneau pins are present. Custom drivers side cowl. Trimmed over door tops, rear tire recessed in trunk cutout, extended fins. 4 brand new Kumhos. Hood pins with leather tie down strap. Paint has a good patina. Wiring could use tidying up and reverse gear can take some time and finesse to find. All emissions equipment has been removed but the car is street licensed as an antique in the state of Virginia. Leaks the usual bit of oil but has never left me stranded and fires up every time I activate the push-button start. Gobs of character and draws instant crowds and smiles when parked.

About Us 1980 MGB Limited Edition low mileage original Description Rosner MotorSports is delighted to offer this rare and desirable example of British Leyland motoring history. The 1980 MGB Limited Edition was a marketing endeavor between B-L and the U.S. distributorship in Leonia, NJ to mark the end of new MGB sales in the North American Market. The production period of the North American version “LE” was 1979-1980. An agreement between British Leyland, the U.S distributorship and all North American insured that the “LE kit” would be only installed on black cars and to buy a black car of that time period, it had to be a Limited Edition only. There were 6,668 produced in the two years of production. In addition to the color specific exterior, numerous components are specific to the Limited Edition model. These items make the Limited Edition unique in comparison to standard MGB’s of 1979-80. Here’s a list of those components Front air dam L.E. Five spoke alloy wheels, manufactured by GKN, with MG hub center appliqués Silver lower body stripes Luggage rack Leather covered, padded, three spoke steering wheel with a special center hub. This uses the same MG applique as the wheels A Limited Edition dash plaque installed on the glove box Our 1980 MGB Limited Edition Roadster is finished in original black exterior with the optional tan interior. This roadster has fewer than 20k miles and the overall condition indicates it was always garage kept. The convertible top is in excellent condition as is the factory tonneau cover. The 1798 cc, 4 cylinder engine produces just under 100 horsepower and is matted to a four-speed manual gearbox. Hydraulic disc brakes are installed on the front with drum brakes on the rear. This great car represents the refinement and culmination of the MGB series that began in 1963. Our MGB-LE is a terrific car to drive and it’s certainly nice enough to be proudly shown at any event. As MG prices continue to rise, this is the time to add this reasonably priced classic to your collection. Contact Bob Reilly at Rosner MotorSports at 540-287-4378 for additional information. ? ? Car has been stored inside for most of its life. Repaint from white to black over 20 years ago. Paint looks very good up close, sides straight, no bondo or rust. Engine was rebuilt prior to the purchase by the last owner about 15 years ago. No smoke, runs strong. New clutch and master cylinder and rear brakes, many small parts, new radiator, runs cool, interior in very good condition, all gauges work, radio replaced with a Sony with multiple speakers, overdrive works fine and is a hard to find feature, tires in nice shape, cockpit cover, original jack and some spare parts also included with car. Carbs rebuilt recently. Buyer is responsible for shipping and or picking up the car in Haymarket, VA.

This 1964 MGB has a REBUILT ENGINE WITH LESS THAN 300 MILES, and the TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHAULED by the same business. Additionally, it has a NEW CLUTCH, NEW FRONT SHOCKS, NEW REAR LEAF SPRINGS, NEW REAR BUMPER, NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM, NEW ELECTRONIC IGNITION, NEW RADIATOR and a NEW STARTER, upgraded to a high torque model. THE FOLLOWING WAS DONE TO THE ENGINE: Bored out to .040", NEW Pistons, NEW Crank, NOS Distributor, and NEW Valves & Valve Springs. The engine was rebuilt by Bruce Woodson of "Mercer & Woodson" in Richmond VA; specializing in classic vehicles, with combined experiences of over 50 years. Engine will start and run and sounds great! (Will need to jump start, due to old battery.) HOLD THE CURSER OVER THE PHOTOS TO ZOOM IN AND SEE MORE DETAILS FROM THE PHOTOS Vehicle must be towed or shipped from location for safety reasons. Working condition of other parts are unknown. PRICED TO SELL. There is NO RESERVE, so don't delay! Sellers Additional Note: The Engine number is 18GA-U-H-363. I can only assume that the transmission is original, but I can’t say for sure, because I bought the car used, then overhauled it. The Carburetor is a Weber Down Draft. There is nothing special about the intake manifold and exhaust header; the engine was not built to be a racecar. There is extensive rust under the car, rocker panels, floor pans, doglegs etc. (Zoom in on photos) It’s not that the body can't be repaired, but there is a lot of rust to deal with. I do not have the original steering wheel. The vehicle must be towed off the property because the seats are not attached to the floorboard, and although the tires do hold air, the tires have dry rot. Also, I don't know how well the brakes work. The car has been sitting for a while, but I do start it from time to time. For further information email or call Garry at (804) 375-3165.
