This "B" has OVERDRIVE which is the most sought after option you can have. OV means you can cruise of the interstate at 70+ MPH with ease. The car was nicely restored at some point in life and runs strong and looks good. I have added new Uniroyal tires, clutch master cylinder, convertible top with zip out rear window (desirable removable top frame), racing fender mirrors, flexible air dam and battery. No smoke, great oil pressure, good brakes, Mini- Lota steering wheel and after Market seats with head rests ( original seats included). The car even has an Alpine CD player. Older paint job with a few cracks and a little bubbling at top of rear fender. No body panel rust, previous restoration replaced any questionable panels with new metal. Overall great condition with very little needed for perfection. Speedometer does not work. Mileage is a guess but the speedo say 70Kish. Who knows accept that the engine has obviously been rebuilt given the oil pressure and it's outstanding performance.

Finding a SOLID MG - MGB is hit and miss. Most have had MANY OWNERS... and are worn out..meaning an entire restoration would be needed to have something you can depend on. This car has been well taken care of since 1980. When we checked under the carpets.. looking for rust.. none was there... when we looked under the bottom... nothing more than my Mercedes Benz. It had an oil leak.. but we had the engine completely checked out and went ahead & had gaskets, seals etc replaced. The car sits very solid. No leaning.  When driving... you can go a mile down the road in a straight line without touching the steering wheel. This car has not even been washed since I've owned it for just over a year. I NEVER got it out in the rain... and always just wiped it down to get any dust off of it when I would park it in my 2 story shop/garage. Attached are photos that will give you a decent sense of the condition of the car. The ONLY things I would do to this car might be replacing the back carpet.. and possibly having the drivers seat reupolstered as it has some cracked spots. 1963 MGB Irish Blue 89k SN 13497             46 Professional Photos  This just in! Currently owned by the son of the original owner, this early MGB (S/N 13497) was purchased on August 8, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama. (Original sales receipt included!) This car has no damage history, NO RUST, has matching numbers, and has accumulated 89,500 miles. It was refreshed in 1982-84 (ground-up), 2008 (gauges, hydraulics, fuel tank sender), and 2014 (cylinder head, carb overhaul, electrical updates). It has been garaged its entire life and is rust-proofed in the spaces below the door panels. The Michelin X 155-14 tires still have remaining life. It is as-original except for conversion to a modern electrical system including a change to negative polarity and installation of a Moss kit in early 2014 with a new Lucas alternator, pulley, and belt. A Pertronics ignition system with Lucas look-alike distributor, new plugs, wires, and coil was installed in late 2014. The twin SU carburetors were overhauled by Joe Curto in late 2014 while the car was down for a cylinder head overhaul, at which time it was fitted with a new valve train suitable for burning modern fuels.  It has a near-new correct blue top on a Type 2 frame with zip-out window. A Prestige blue carpet set was installed in mid-2014. The steering rack was fitted with new bellows and a new steering shaft spacer installed in 2014. The engine does not overheat, maintaining 190 F when warm, and the oil pressure is 30 psi at idle and 60 psi at higher RPMs. Compression remains above 130 psi in all cylinders. It received fresh brake parts all around in 2013. Accessories include a 12 volt outlet under the passenger-side dashboard for electronic devices.  The original blue tonneau and boot cover are still fresh and usable.  Maintenance records go back to 1974 and major work was photographed. Comes with all the original parts that were upgraded, an additional Type 1 top frame, 3 binders of service history and maintenance records, etc. Excellent driver inside and out with a complete and traceable history. I purchased the car in 2007 off EBAY. Since the car was in Grand Rapids, MI John Twist was contacted and paid to inspect the car before I purchased sight unseen. The seller told me he was selling for his brother and that the car had been stored in a heated basement since 1982. When I was contacted by University Motors they said the car was as described and worth the asking price of 12K and that they had records of work on the car up until 1982. I traveled to Grand Rapids and drove the car into my trailer and brought it back to Tennessee. It ran a little rough but hadn't been started since storage. My problem is that I have too many cars and have descided to sell the MGA along with my '48 MGTC and 63 Spitfire 4 ( with 10,129 actual miles). Since I have had the car, I replaced the main floorboards, had the radiator flushed, cleaned & painted, fan shroud placed, along with Clark restorations and Spares modifications for seat belts. Rebuilt set of SU carbs added along with a stainless steel exhaust system. Also purchased 5 new BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials and had the mounted to 5 new Dayton painted tubeless wire wheels. Other large tick items bought include MGA panel Kit, Leather seat kit, black carpet kit, curtain bag , tire cover ,Moto Lita wheel and hub, new gas tank and rack & pinon( the tank & pinon are uninstalled). The big ticket items came to 5498.00. Many of the smaller items are shown in the pics, too much trouble to list. A conservative estimate is around 6500-7000.00 in new parts total. Also included is spare set of MGA carbs, twin-cam dash, used rack & pinon with top frame and seats removed from the car. What does the car need to become a nice driver, front bumper needs attention, rear tail light plinths need repainting, new top, tune up. This car would also be an excellent candidate for a full restoration as it is essentially rust free with only surface rust on the frame. I have not started the car in 4 years but will make sure it runs before delivery. It has been in my basement since purchase. The car is registered with NAMGAR # 1916. The odomoter shows 9898 miles but I have no idea if that is accurate. Please feel free to come look at the MGA, I am not a dealer, have a dental practice. There are british repair shops in Nashville you could hire to inspect the car for you. Worked for me. The first pics are of the car when I picked it up, the pics with the white walls, ect. was made last week.
