Like the Cobra or Sunbeam Tiger, the principal is to take a respected British roadster and add good old American muscle. Here is a car that you can drive this car in the rain as it has real windows that roll up with a defroster that works. There is also a stereo that you can listen to music or book tapes on. This car was converted from a low mileage survivor. It started of as a really clean, rust-free 1980 MGB LE with only 46,000 miles. The paint is 75% original. The original engine was removed and replaced with a rebuilt 1962 Oldsmobile 215 CI V8. The transmission was also rebuilt and the donor was a T5 out of a 1995 Camaro. The engine features an Edelbrock manifold and re-jetted Edelbrock 500 performer carburetor. Custom headers lead to a quiet dual exhaust that exits on the drivers side as a pair of twin pipes and hug the body of the car. The exhaust has a deep-throated sound but is not objectionably loud. For all-climate driving pleasure, the builder added air-conditioning.Look closely at the dash with the manual choke and A/C controls. They look factory installed. The Olds V8 actually weighs less than the original MG 4-cylinder engine, so the car exhibits well-balanced handling. The car accelerates strongly from any speed and blows away many more formidable performance cars. It is sure to surprise a lot of people when this modest-looking MGB leaves them behind! Everything works properly, the fuel gauge, tach, speedometer, oil pressure gauge, cold a/c, and heat when needed. The interior looks and feels brand new. Like the Cobra or Sunbeam Tiger, the principal is to take a respected British roadster and add good old American muscle. Here is a car that you can drive this car in the rain as it has real windows that roll up with a defroster that works. There is also a stereo that you can listen to music or book tapes on. This car was converted from a low mileage survivor. It started of as a really clean, rust-free 1980 MGB LE with only 46,000 miles. The paint is 75% original. The original engine was removed and replaced with a rebuilt 1962 Oldsmobile 215 CI V8. The transmission was also rebuilt and the donor was a T5 out of a 1995 Camaro. The engine features an Edelbrock manifold and re-jetted Edelbrock 500 performer carburetor. Custom headers lead to a quiet dual exhaust that exits on the drivers side as a pair of twin pipes and hug the body of the car. The exhaust has a deep-throated sound but is not objectionably loud. For all-climate driving pleasure, the builder added air-conditioning.Look closely at the dash with the manual choke and A/C controls. They look factory installed. The Olds V8 actually weighs less than the original MG 4-cylinder engine, so the car exhibits well-balanced handling. The car accelerates strongly from any speed and blows away many more formidable performance cars. It is sure to surprise a lot of people when this modest-looking MGB leaves them behind! Everything works properly, the fuel gauge, tach, speedometer, oil pressure gauge, cold a/c, and heat when needed. The interior looks and feels brand new.
