MGB roadster, 1978 A very special, highly modified MGB in excellent condition Found in West Virginia, well serviced and preserved, 47,000 original miles (shows 71,000 but last owner told us the speedo had been replaced) original miles, came into our operation in excellent condition…no rust, excellent drive train, original paint BUT with a tired interior, perfect compression and oil pressure, no smoke cold or hot, and the typical weaknesses of late model MGBs…..ugly, and heavy, rubber bumpers, elevated ride height to meet DOT bumper height regulations, and with a gutless single Stromberg carb and only 62.5 hp. BUT, now………..complete, professional chrome bumper conversion, all new bumpers, guards, grille, hardware, we eliminate the side lights properly by welding in metal panels (to offer the exterior esthetics of an early B), painted in deep BRG to a show finish, lowered to pre-1975 ride height (drastically improves handling, fitted with a new 32DGV Weber carb on alloy Pierce manifold, headers, All new interior with black leather seats, wood dash, wood steering wheel, modern stereo/CD with USB input, new top, tonneau, carpeted trunk, new seat belts, new springs and suspension bushings, this is a fabulous MGB, And the result….the beautiful esthetics of the early MGBs but with bigger gauges, modern controls (on the dash and steering column stalks), alternator, front and rear sway bars, electronic ignition, power disc brakes, thermostatically controlled electric radiator fans, better fusing and electricals, a FAR superior car. Smooth, quiet, refined, yet still with all of the much beloved virtues of a simple, easy to service English sports car. In many ways, the best of both words, new and old. Later cars were extensively rust proofed and the photos of the floor show….no rust. A wonderful car, easily adapted to air conditioning due to the face level air vents, and with contemporary performance and use. We can even supply this car with a hardtop for all season use.I have done my best to describe this car as accurately and candidly as possible, however, being a 30-year-old machine, it is offered 'as-is' with no warranty or guarantee. It is advertised in a number of publications and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We can store the car until it's shipped, and can arrange shipping anywhere in the world. We require a 10% deposit with 48 hours of auction close, and full payment within 7 days. Here is a great chance to own a beautiful classic! MGA 1600 Mk I, 1960 Very clean, always in Texas Great looking and running MGA, very good paint (appears to have been repainted once), all new maroon interior (with leather seats), new seat belts, excellent mechanicals…..145-150 psi compression in every cylinder, 65 psi oil pressure when warm, zero smoke, all original gauges and electrics work, good top and side curtains, wire wheels with all new splined hubs and new chrome knock offs, even has its original engine hand crank. As a 1600 Mk I, fitted with the more powerful 1600cc engine and disc brakes. Transmission is very quiet even in 1st and reverse gears, excellent synchromesh, brakes and steering work well, excellent chassis and wood floors, rust free trunk compartment and floor, very clean engine bay. For the money, the absolute best compromise in a classic English sports car with light, precise steering, 100 mph performance, easy to service, parts are plentiful and generally inexpensive, and really stunning in Old English White with deep maroon leather. I have done my best to describe this car as accurately and candidly as possible, however, being a 50-year-old machine, it is offered 'as-is' with no warranty or guarantee. It is advertised in a number of publications and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We can store the car until it's shipped, and can arrange shipping anywhere in the world. We require a 10% deposit with 48 hours of auction close, and full payment within 7 days. Here is a great chance to own a gorgeous, classic 'A'! MGB Roadster 1978A gorgeous classic A special project we just finished.Came in as a dowdy, Russet brown, rubber bumper, single carbed, raised up on its suspension to meet 1978 DOT bumper height requirements, steel wheeled, original AM FM radio'ed.....MG. Nothing special. Nice car other then being ugly, gutless, and ill handling.BUT....only 59,000 original miles, perfect compression and oil pressure, zero smoke, and a perfect rust free body and chassis. With original paint (hence, no bondo, no repairs, no rust, no damage). A good candidate for a comprehensive reconditioning. And modifying.Now......new 32DGV Weber carb on alloy manifold, headers, front suspension disassembled, fitted with new bushings and lowered springs, rear ride height lowered (to pre 1975 MGB ride height), converted to wire wheels with new hubs and chrome knock offs, a complete professional chrome bumper conversion with all new bumpers, grille, sheet metal, lights, etc. Fitted with a new tan premium quality convertible top, new wood dashboard, new wood steering wheel, Sony stereo/CD with USB input, and......completely disassembled exterior, all new rubber seals and gaskets, painted in black along with the engine bay, door jambs, trunk, under the hood and trunk lid, and the result is breathtaking. Our paint staff did a first class job and if you look closely at the depth and reflections in the paint, you can see how well this car came out. A gorgeous classic MG sports car.Interior was excellent/original and needed nothing. As a late model MGB, has electronic ignition, front and rear sway bars, thermostatically controlled electric radiator fans, bigger gauges, nicer dash, better electrical system, better fusing, better trans and engine mounting, and a properly rust proofed floor pan. All in all, this car is really the best of the early and later Bs.We even, as you can see, eliminated the side lights, properly, by welding in new sheet metal. The result of all of this? The best of the 'old' and the 'new.'Sure, the pre 1968 MGBs are great looking cars. But they are 50 or more years old, had no rust protection, positive ground, generators, no safety equipment, non synchromesh transmissions, single circuit brakes, non illuminated switches, no controls on the stalks, even the hi lo beam switch on the floor. Ancient cars. But this redone 1978 is quite modern, well, at least as MGBs go. Modern controls, quiet and refined, excellent ride, no rattles, and is really a dream to drive. With just enough 'classic' to make the project all worth while. (and we can add a modern 5 speed transmission and air conditioning)After all, we do live in a 55-65 mph environment. And modern sports and GT cars with sophisticated 16 valve twin cam engines, 5 or 6 speed transmission, this and that, are great to cruise at 110+mph. But where? Truth is, this MGB is just sufficiently ancient to make 55-65 mph driving enjoyable. And yes, its top speed is probably around 105 mph and it will cruise nicely at 80 mph. But why bother? For the proverbial twisty, windy country road, for the money and for the utility, this MGB is just about ideal.(and, in stock, we have similar cars in orange, red, green, blue, maroon, brown, and white)I have done my best to describe this car as accurately and candidly as possible, however, being a 30-year-old machine, it is offered 'as-is' with no warranty or guarantee. It is advertised in a number of publications and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We can store the car until it's shipped, and can arrange shipping anywhere in the world. We require a 10% deposit with 48 hours of auction close, and full payment within 7 days. Here is a great chance to own a beautiful classic 'B'! For inquiries, give a call during business hours, Mon-Fri, and 10am-2pm on Saturday, at 203-377-6746.

MGB ‘Special project’ 1980 A beautiful, low mileage, rust free highly modified MGB Like any 1980 MGB, began its life as a dumpy, gutless, ill-handling, ugly single-carbed, 62.5 hp, rubber-bumpered, raise up high on its suspension to meet DOT bumper height requirements……cute little touring car. But not any more. A LOT of positive changes. Between the last owner and us, some wonderful improvements on a rust free, 52,000 original mile MGB. Fitted with ‘Sebring’ front and rear valances as used in racing, side moldings and side lights removed, even the fuel filler now in the trunk and the back up lights removed. Gives a very clean appearance and makes this look quite different than the run of the mill MGB. Excellent engine, removed and fitted with new gaskets and seals, 155-160 psi compression in every cylinder, milled head to raise compression ratio, fitted with rebuilt twin SU carbs and headers, 70+ psi oil pressure when warm, zero smoke, MUCH quicker than stock. With performance similar to the earliest (and fastest) MGBs. Beautiful BRG paint, spotless detailed engine bay, excellent wiring and electrics, converted to wire wheels with new splined hubs and new chrome knock offs, completely redone brakes: rebuilt calipers, new rotors, new pads and shoes, new wheel cylinders and new Aeroquip braided metal flex lines. New low back (as used in MGBs pre 1969) seats, all new interior, wood dash and wood steering wheel, modern Sony stereo/CD with USB input, excellent top, boot cover, rebuilt suspension and lowered to pre-1975 MGB ride height (vastly improves handling), and……… As a later model MGB, electronic ignition (never needs a traditional tune up), thermostatically controlled electric radiator fans, front and rear sway bars, better engine and transmission mounting, improved fusing and electrical system, bigger gauges, nicer controls, readily adaptable to installing air conditioning with face level air vents, and, all in all, a MUCH better MGB. (and IF you prefer bumpers and bumper guards, we can easily install them) Note: although all of the photos except one show this car with a blacked out grille, I painted the grille with chrome paint just before this ad went on line…it is now chrome. Has a rather loud exhaust that would be appealing to the traditional sports car enthusiast but, sure, we can fit a quiet muffler in a buyer prefers. As with most everything on an MGB, simple and easy and inexpensive to do. Which is one of the most delightful aspects of these cars…..in a 55-65 mph society, why be insulated and isolated from the road….why be in a car that at 100 mph, makes you feel you are going 60mph…more fun to have the opposite, a small, loud, fun to drive English sports car on narrow tires that, at 60 mph, makes you feel as if you are going 100 mph! A logical way to cut down on tickets. Yet, still this car has contemporary use and performance…power assisted disc brakes, easy cruising at 80+mph, and what fun on the proverbial twisty country road. A neat car for shows, Summer driving, or even all year ‘round. I have done my best to describe this car as accurately and candidly as possible, however, being a 30-year-old machine, it is offered 'as-is' with no warranty or guarantee. It is advertised in a number of publications and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We can store the car until it's shipped, and can arrange shipping anywhere in the world. MGB roadster, 1979 Professionally done chrome bumper conversion….and more…. If you know MGBs, they sort of went downhill in 1974 ½….ugly (and heavy) rubber bumpers, raised up to meet DOT bumper height requirements and by 1977, absolutely gutless with a single Stromberg carb and only 62.5hp. What a shame. BUT…….the later cars had a LOT of advantages, easily overlooked…..front and rear sway bars, servo (power) assist disc brakes, better engine/trans mounting, effective rust proofing, better fusing and electrical system, face level air vents (allowing an easy installation of air conditioning), electronic ignition (never needs a traditional tune up), thermostatically controlled electric cooling fans, and the transmissions and engines feel smoother and…. well, better. Now, that was this car’s starting point, also…..67,000 original miles, rust free Southern car, excellent paint, 1450-150 psi compression in every cylinder, 75-80 psi oil pressure when warm, zero smoke, a really nice starting point. AND NOW………all new interior in Autumn leaf, new wood dash and wood steering wheel, new stereo/CD, new top, rebuilt tach, complete chrome bumper conversion with all new bumpers, guards, grille, sheet metal, lights, hardware, etc, lowered to pre 1974 ½ ride height (vast improvement in looks and handling), new 32DGV Seber carb and headers, rebuilt front end, new bushings, springs, sandblasted and enameled control arms, very clean engine bay, center lock wire wheels with new chrome knock offs, a sensational MGB. ALL Of the virtues of the early and late model MGBs. Excellent ride, handling, steering, and overall performance. Granted, even a modified MGB, such as this, isn’t gonna spin its rear wheels at 80 mph. But, truth is, we live in a 55-65mph society and this car is FUN to drive at or near legal limits. Will cruise all day at 80+ mph, has effective power disc brakes, seals up nicely in the rain, and should offer years and years of fun. Which, after all, is what it is all about. A lot of time, money, and effort went into this project. And if red isn’t your cup of tea, at the moment we have nearly identical cars in yellow, orange, blue, green, black, white, maroon, and even two others in red. If you owned, in a past life, an ‘average’ MGB, you will find this car is similar but different. FAR more refined and should be far more reliable. We require a 10% deposit with 48 hours of auction close, and full payment within 7 days. Here is a great chance to own a beautiful classic! MG TD 1953 Thoroughly rebuilt and restored Excellent body, paint, wood framing, chassis, floors, chrome……beautiful restoration recently completed but change of circumstances required sale. ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE.Rebuilt engine (numbers matching), perfect compression and oil pressure, zero smoke, quiet gearbox with excellent synchromesh action, brakes done, new wiring harness, all original gauges, all new interior, new (expensive) cloth tonneau, has top frame and new top but never installed (easily done). New tires, new seat belts, runs and drives like new, (let me try and summarize this car, overall:) ready for road, show, or just sitting in a garage. NOT trying to present this car as a top national show winner but for a ‘local’ show, absolutely perfect. And the photos tell the rest…look at the wood pieces under the sills, the wood floors, engine bay detailing, interior, chrome, etc…..as nice a road/show usable TD as one might expect. And considering the cost of buying a fair TD and restoring to this quality level, a true bargain. We can assist in transport anywhere, can store this car until a buyer is ready for delivery, even can add appropriate options (stereo, luggage rack, etc.). Our terms of sale: need $1,000 deposit within 48 hours of end of auction, full payment via w/transfer or check within seven days. This car is available for sale in a variety of publications, and as a result I reserve the right to end this auction for any time and for any reason. I have done my best to give a candid, accurate description, but it is still a 60-year-old vehicle and as such comes with no warranty or guarantee. We can provide storage until the buyer is ready for delivery, and we can arrange shipping anywhere in the world. This is a good chance to own a really gorgeous TD at a great price! For any questions or inquiries, please contact me during office hours Mon-Fri, and Saturday 10am-2pm, at 203-377-6746. Thank you!
