1. It's a Powerglide. If you Google that, you'll find that if you add the quart of fluid it "needs," you will soon have a one-quart puddle of fluid on your driveway. Just drive it, and it works fine. 2. I think the only instruments that don't work are the tachometer and speedometer; the ones that measure health are OK. The radio buzzes, which is a good sign. Obviously, the mileage shown on the odometer has nothing to do with reality. 3. This is not a car for a very round person. I weigh 235 and can barely fit behind the wheel. 4. If you are relatively petite and enjoy burbling around town in something neat, this car is for you. I drove it from Tennessee to Oregon, but I don't recommend doing that. 5. As noted above, with lifetime "Antique" plates I saw no reason to change the registration and will provide a Bill of Sale and the original title I got with the car. 6. If you want the car shipped, I will cooperate any way I can, short of arranging it. 7. A non-refundable deposit of $2000 will be due within 48 hours of purchase. 8. I have tried to describe it accurately. Any questions will be answered (to the best of my ability) on this site, for the edification of all.

This is a replica of a 1953 MG convertible. It is a kit car with a fiberglass body, and is fashioned to look just like the original. VW 1600 Engine Convertible Canvas CanopyCD PlayerRadioHeaterWhite Leather SeatsSpare tire2 Door The body sits on a 1984 VW chassis, with a recently rebuilt 1600 engine. Stick shift. We spent $1,000 on a new Canvas roof and side panels and new leather seated upholstery. Runs great! FUN to drive! Everyone's heads turn when you drive by. Then you can honk the Ooga Horn and get the thumbs up! It has been used for photo shoots, and a friend's wedding. It's a great attention grabbing car. Asking $8,000.

1952 MG TD. I have owned this vehicle since 1980's and have all the records. It was originally black and I changed it to british racing green. It has a perfect top, driving tonneau cover and is in great shape. This is not a showroom car. I drive it and enjoy it. Serious inquiries only and no trades.

My customers Steve and Elizabeth have asked me to sell their 1960 MGA. Elizabeth inherited this car after her father pasted in 2002. During their ownership the MGA has lived a sheltered and restful existence. (I keep telling them they are foolish to sell such a nice car)... anyway here is the run down: 1. This MGA is North American MGA register car number 2! Talk about being there at the start... Elizabeth's father was the co-founder of NAMGAR. 2.The car was painted a very dark brown in the 1970's. The paint has held up very well over the past 40 years. The interior is a pleasant light carmel color. 3. This MGA is NOT a rust bucket like the vast majority of MGA's. Elizabeth's father did a very complete job of cleaning and preventing rust from spreading back in the day. The only rust repair project that didn't impress me was the battery box, Looks strong but not remotely close to historically correct. 4. Improvements: The MGA has electronic ignition in it: so it's as good as it's going to get for modern reliability. I replaced the original S.U. fuel pump a few months back. I guess Elizabeth's father was a little paranoid about fuel delivery success; The car has a spare fuel pump in front of the radiator. I disconnected it because I believe in S.U. 5. Engine: The block is the original 1600, but it has an early MGB non-smog head on it. This doesn't surprise me. MGA cylinder heads were cast so poorly, most packed it in years ago. Cylinder compression is even across the board. 6.Transmission: Elizabeth is proud that her father taught her to not ride the clutch, She only had her foot on the clutch pedal to shift. That being said, in the tradition of MGA transmissions second gear wants to pop out under hard downshifting. During my test drive the transmission didn't do anything funny, that being said; I fix British cars for a living so I treat them with respect. 7. Diff: doing an inspection on the car, the prop-shaft to diff engagement feels within spec. I don't hear clunking under acceleration. 8. The owners say the car always fires off first pull and it doesn't overheat in traffic. (talk about desirable features on a classic car!) 10. For the pursuit of finding the original exterior color, Elizabeth remembers the car did have a red interior in it. So it was either a White, Black, Red, Dove Grey, or Alamo Beige car. I have a hunch it was probably Alamo Beige; hence the paint job! Final thoughts; I like this car because it's obvious to me it has been loved for decades. The dark brown with the carmel interior looks very understated; it's like a curvy chocolate bar on wheels. Sure it has some foibles (what old car doesn't?) but the repairs and modifications were to keep it a driving car (even when the S.U. fuel pump packs it in). This car isn't some kind of big time auction car that has been freshly painted but runs like crud and overheats at every stop light. This thing has been cared and maintained for the purpose of driving enjoyment. Safety Fast;Chad C.British Motor Care
