2004 Mercury Marauder I bought this car new from the dealer in February 2004 with 7 miles on the odometer. There were only 1,237 Black Marauders made in 2004, and this is one of the very few that has the optional Sunroof. I used it as my daily vehicle to commute to work between 2004 and 2011. 90% of the miles are highway miles as my commute was via interstate 495. This car was kept garaged each night and on weekends when not in use to minimize sun exposure. The car was also kept in the garage each winter as I drove my 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee instead. In addition to never being driven in Winter, it was also never driven by anyone under the age of 45. The oil was changed every 5,000 miles with Mobil1 full synthetic motor oil. After it was paid for in 2009, and the mileage reached 100,000, I stopped using the car as my daily driver and only drove it once or twice a week in order to prevent excessive further mileage on the car. Ultimately I changed the oil, added stabilizer to the gas tank, unregistered the car and stopped driving it in 2011. The expired 2010 Massachusetts inspection sticker is still on the windshield. I have taken the car out of the garage every 2 months to run the engine, and keep all the parts moving and working. The expired 2010 Massachusetts inspection sticker is still on the windshield. The car is 100% original. The only exception to this is that at one time I had a Verizon car phone installed but it has since been removed by Verizon. I have always believed that the highest value of a car was to keep it stock so I never modified anything on this car. If you are looking for a 100% stock Marauder, then this car is for you. Even the tires are the exact same manufacturer, model and size as were originally delivered on the car (see photo). So many Marauders have been modified in some way because the owners just can't resist tinkering with something... A performance chip, window tinting, cold air filter, turbocharging, etc. But NOT this one. No mechanical work has ever been done to this car except changing the oil, filters, belt, brakes and tires. And all of that work was done by a professional mechanic. Everything on this car works as it should. All electronics work. All power door locks, windows, sunroof, and seats work. The heated seats and air conditioning both work. The radio (original of course) works fine, as do all the speakers and 6-CD changer (located in the trunk). Tires are good, (see pictures of tread) brakes are good, both the engine and transmission run properly and neither of these have ever been taken apart. The exterior shines like new with only a few minor imperfections. The interior looks just like new with the exception of a little wear on the driver's floor mat. As you can see, this car was owned by someone who really cared about it and took excellent care of it. From 10 feet away it still looks like a brand new car. However, it is 11 years old and was driven daily for over five years. As a result, there are some minor imperfections as there will be with any used car. There are a few minor scratches in the paint, mainly on the rear bumper. These are minor and could probably be buffed out or minimized by a body shop. Also there are 5 or 6 tiny chips in the paint on the panel in front of the hood that I have dabbed with touch up paint. There is also a small (3/4") spot on the trunk lid where a bird dropping dulled the paint. There is also one ding at the very bottom of the driver's door where something hit it down low. It is not dented in and is almost impossible to see unless it is pointed out. I did not even realize it was there until I was waxing the car and found it. As you can see from the picture I took of it, this is extremely minor. All of the pictures that I have taken have been posted with maximum picture size so that you can zoom in on them. Please also note that I have posted a couple of pictures of the underside of the car. Very few sellers post pictures of the underside of their car. Instead they just say "No Rust anywhere ever" and leave it at that. On an 11 year old car that was actually driven, even one such as mine that was never driven in Winter, or even on one that has really low miles, for anyone to make a statement that there is "no rust anywhere" is likely misleading. There are some parts under the car that will have some surface rust, no matter what you do. But as you can see from the photos, while there is some minor surface rust on some components, this car absolutely does not have a rust problem. Even though AutoCheck says that this car does not have a damage history, that is not correct. (AutoCheck is worthless!!!) I was in an accident with this car in 2006 that required the driver's front fender, hood and grille to be replaced. All the work was done correctly and with the correct OEM Marauder (not Grand Marquis) parts by Lenny's Autobody of Middleboro, MA. Lenny did a fantastic job, and there is absolutely no evidence anywhere that this vehicle had ever been damaged. Lenny's is a small shop that is known for their meticulous work, and you can google "Lenny's Autobody Middleboro, MA" and view their Yelp and Yellowpages, etc. reviews on line to verify the quality of this shop. I have always been very careful where I parked the car and with the exception of the ding at the very bottom of the driver's door, there are no parking lot dings on any body panels and never have been. This is a really nice Marauder with a known good history. If you want to know anything else about the car, just ask. I want you to know exactly what you are bidding on, and I want the buyer to be happy with it. The auction also includes the original unused leather jacket and 2003 brochure. (I don't think they made a 2004 Marauder brochure.) I am selling this because I want to use the garage space and the money to buy a boat, but will be sad to see it go. If my garage was bigger and/or I had more money, this car would not be going anywhere. At the end of the auction, you must pay a $500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours. You must show up and pick up this car IN PERSON with a bank or cashier's check and proper ID within 7 days.
