For sale is my 1953 Mercury Monterey. Original flatheadV8. Dual exhaust with mellowtone pipes sound nice and throaty. Runs, drives, stops great. Transmission was rebuilt by Abercrombie Transmissions and shifts tight and fast. NOS interior is clean and in great shape. Always a Georgia car. Lots of extra parts, manuals, vintage Mercury ephemera, original paperwork. It is registered, tagged, insured in Georgia and driven regularly. Still 6v. Lowered 2" in rear. Still have original springs and the stock carb/ air cleaner that come with the car. Also have stock steering wheel, extra hubcaps and 2 new water pumps. Tires only have a few thousand miles on them. Some surface rust on bumpers, rest of car is clean and solid. Paint has some scratches here and there. Factory 2tone colors repainted 12-15 years ago by previous owner.Do not contact me with offers to help me sell it. I am not interested. Send phone number if you are a serious buyer. Car has less than 74,000 total miles on it.Am selling vehicle because car has a mold/mildew problem inside the interior.The car has not been driven in the last 3 years & while sitting the window seals allowed water to leak slowly into the vehicle.I received a quote anywhere from $200 to $400 to have the vehicle professionally cleaned but decided Id rather just sale it.The Transmission works great .Engine & electrical work great.The car power windows do not work,Tires need air in them,the window seals will need replacing also.The odometer stopped working about 3 months before i parked the vehicle but I estimate I drove less than 7,000 miles total while I was operating it.The AC needs recharging also.I did get a mechanic to check it last summer & the car did crank ! the engine sounded like new !
