1985 Mercedes 380SL, 83,000 Miles, $13,700 or Best Offer. Sellers Note:This is a clean, original well cared for example of an 380SL. These are getting harder and harder to come by in this price/condition range. I collect these cars and in doing so, I know the market. Unfortunately I need to make room in my collection for new additions, so I'm selling this one. It truly is a beautiful car that will not disappoint! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The absolute best year for the 380SL Model; Clean, original, unmolested car: I purchased this car from what was believed to be the estate of the second owner, an 88 year old lawyer from West Virginia. The car has always been looked after by professional Mercedes mechanics, and appears to have been garaged and well cared for its entire life. It has a like new professionally installed German soft top. The estate provided me with the latest receipt for a new fuel pump, fuel hoses and filter and new starter. All Fluids changed (brake, antifreeze, transmission, and differential). Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting automatically with ease through every gear. It has 4 like new tires and new battery. This 380SL came from the factory with the duel row timing chain that the earlier problematic 380sl's did not have. So you can almost guarantee the car will give you hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles. This beautiful 380SL has current NJ historic registration and clean NJ title in my name. The paint and body look extremely shiny and clean very very nice; everything appears to be original (30 years old). The only signs of a flaw in the paint I can see are shown in the last 2 pictures; the right fender and the P/S door's, original clear coat. Both are extremely small, but that is the only flaws I can see and I wanted to call them out to prospective buyers. There is no rust or dents on the car; no signs of previous body damage. It has a clean Car Fax indicating a papered and respected life. The exterior color is gold with a light Palomino/Saddle leather interior. The interior is in extremely nice shape for its age the seats have no rips or stains, all the trim, wood and carpets are in great shape. The wood is absolutely beautiful and flawless, you can see deep into it with no scratches or creacks! The Heat and A/C work very well, as do all the mechanicals on the car. The top is like new Mercedes in brown; the windows are clear and crack free. The sound system is the original Becker radio and it works perfectly including the electric Hirschman antenna. The trunk is equally clean; no blemishes on the carpets or the trim, no stains or smells. The original spare tire is in the trunk and appears to have never been on the ground! Beautiful triple black 1979 Mercedes 450SL, 90,000 Miles Car belonged to the brother of oil baron T. Boone Pickens! This 450SL is truly collector grade; Clean, original, unmolested car: Prior to me purchasing this car last year, it remained in the same Texas family for 34 years; I have a copy of the original title from Texas. The car has always been looked after by professional Mercedes mechanics, and has always been garaged and well cared for its entire life. It just underwent a major MB service, which included fuel filter, recent tune-up (plugs cap/rotor & filters). Also replaced were multiple cooling hoses, belts and multiple gaskets. Fluids changed (brake, antifreeze, transmission). It Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting automatically with ease through every gear. Drive it anywhere with confidence! The paint is absolutely beautiful (shiny, deep and clean). This car spent its life garaged in Texas so there is no rust. Clean, original, unmolested car: Prior to me purchasing this car two years ago, it remained in the same family for 36 years, transferring from father to son. The car has always been looked after by professional Mercedes mechanics, and has always been garaged and well cared for its entire life. The owner provided me with A-Lot of receipts; the latest was for new tires, alignment, fuel filter, recent tune-up (plugs cap/rotor and filters), and new battery. Also replaced were multiple cooling hoses, belts, injector seals, fuel distributor and gaskets. Fluids changed (brake, antifreeze, transmission). Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting automatically with ease through every gear. The car recently underwent a professional repaint; the paint looks beautiful (deep shine and clean). There never was a speck rust or dents on the car; no signs of body damage; the exterior color is silver blue with light cream interior. The interior is in excellent shape, not a rip or stain; carpets are brand new MB originals. Interior trim is flawless. The soft top is in good condition for its age, and still looks very presentable, the rear window is clear, but does have some small sun spots. The original color matched hard top is in excellent shape. The heat and instrumentation work very well, as do all the mechanical on the car with the exception of the A/C. 1988 Mercedes 560 SL in good running condition. No mechanical issues, no accidents, no rust, odometer is OK, no rips or tears on the seats, but it shows the age. Brand-new convertible top, with new weather strips, a few minor cracks of the dash & few minor dents and scratches. The paint is original, but the color of the hood and the truck's cover is faded, but in general it looks OK. I tried to describe the condition of the car with the best of my ability, but you can inspect the car in person or have someone else to do it before you bid. Sold as-is. Good luck!
