Since delivery, the vehicle has been serviced by the local Mercedes Benz dealer and all records accompany the vehicle. It has a clean CarFax report, and shows 79,400 miles on the odometer.  The car has been very well kept and has excellent condition paint, the leather interior is still soft and supple and has only light wear indicative of its age and milage. The Michelin tires were recently replaced and have plenty of remaining tread. The interior is luxurious, with high quality stitching on the leather seats and wood appointments throughout. The suspension is much more "luxury car" than "sports car" and despite its blazing speed, the car is very comfortable as a daily driver.  The SL600 signaled the start of an era where manufacturers started to produce vehicles with huge horsepower and torque numbers that were also docile and reliable. Although the SL600 packed the same horsepower (493) as the AMG 55, the 600 makes it the sprint to 60 MPH more than a full second faster at just 3.6 seconds. The difference? The twin turbocharged, twin intercooled V12 make a crushing 590 pound feet of torque. The numbers get even better. In a car that drives as smooth as churned butter, and gets reasonable good gas mileage (13 city /19 highway), the SL600 did an 11.9 second quarter mile in when it was tested by Car and Driver.  All of this performance came at a cost in 2005 at just a touch over $129,000.00.
