Beautiful Obsidian Black Mercedes Benz SL600 Retractable Hardtop with Charcoal leather interior This is a gorgeous vehicle for sale by private owner in Clarkston, Michigan. MSRP of over $137,000 when new in 2004. Has the best options, including:Keyless Go (keyless start)Navigation system, complete with a full set of map discs for the entire USA.AMG Sport Package, which includes the modified body lower ($5200 option)Parktronic front and rear ultrasonic parking sensors. In addition, this vehicle has the SL55 AMG wheels, standard original size for this vehicle. I felt that the original wheels were very plain so I had them changed. Tires are Pirelli PZero tires, standard size, very good tread remaining. A complete and full set of owners manuals and all information packets as originally received is included with the vehicle. Engine in this vehicle is amazing, with 493 HP and just under 600 ft-lb of torque. The acceleration is nothing short of stunning, with smooth and quiet power and very deceiving speed. The engine starts and runs smoothly and without noises, leaks, or vibration. The transmission performs perfectly, with very smooth garage shifts and gear changes. The entire powertrain performs flawlessly. The seats are memory and massage, as standard on this model. If you have shopped the SL600, you know to also pay close attention to the suspension and the convertible top operation. Both work as new, with the ABC (active body control, Mercedes' version of active suspension) operating as intended, and can be tested by raising and lowering the body on the suspension using the console control. The convertible top works perfectly, and smoothly moves all the panels and latches / unlatches the top as new. The power trunk pull-down and the luggage access feature work as intended. All body panels fit perfectly, and the paint has a deep and shiny luster. The body is almost completely free of any imperfections, as the pictures show. The vehicle is completely stock with the exception of the upgraded Mercedes wheels, the accessory windscreen, an integrated front and rear radar system (I have never used it, was on as I purchased the vehicle), a Bluetooth Parrot system (also not used), and an amplifier for the stereo, which is housed in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. The radio works great, sounds great, but I probably would not have consumed the storage with an aftermarket system. The vehicle, prior to my purchase, has been in California (where purchased new) and Arizona (where I purchased). It has been in Michigan for about 18 months, and has not seen rain or snow since I bought it. I have used as just a fun weekend car and car to go to dinner in the evening. For full disclosure, there are a couple of items that keep this car from being a $30-$35K example: The vehicle will set a 'check engine' light occasionally. The code is for secondary air injection, which is a very common emissions code that does not affect the performance of the vehicle. I have not investigated the repair, but nothing is cheap if bringing the car to a Mercedes dealer. I have merely reset and erased the code when it comes up. I would replace the batteries. I keep the vehicle on battery tenders (yes, it has 2 batteries), and all is well. The batteries are not recent, and I don't trust their performance over time. The headlamps are bi-xenon lamps as equipped from the factory, and they are great at night. However, one of the headlamps has a burned out high beam that should be replaced. All other lamps work as intended. I hate to sell this vehicle, and it is not critical that it gets sold, but due to a job change it now just sits in the garage waiting for the infrequent day that I take it out for a quick drive on a nice evening. It is a complete joy to drive. When I was shopping for a fun car as a 'toy', I looked long and hard for the right vehicle, one that had spectacular power, beautiful to look at, and at the same had a very luxurious ride that is not punishing like most other supercars. You do not see any of these vehicles around (the SL600 that is.... you see a few SL500s, which I also considered, but I couldn't turn down the extra added horsepower of the SL600), and when it comes for value for performance, there is simply no equal to this car. This much horsepower and torque, power retractable hardtop, incredibly smooth ride, all in an attractive package. I would not have wanted to eat the original depreciation of this car, but I think that it is one of the best values around in the used car market. This vehicle needs to be picked up in Clarkston, Michigan, or the buyer needs to make all arrangements for shipping. Terms of sale are on in this listing. I will not negotiate different terms. Thanks for looking at my listing!
